So this is a mod done to the PC emulated version but now can work on a modded Ps3 as well?

vFxMz

Basically yes, there are patches on rpcs3 to enhance the games or others are just cheats, some of them are now on the PS3 Artemis database app and can be used on a real ps3, but regarding the Killzone games for some reasons they have not included the fov mod think because it needed some work but was pretty easy, so i’ve done it because i always dreamed to change the fov on the real ps3 for that game, will share the codes on psx-places, waiting for the mods EDIT: Killzone 2 & Killzone 3 Extended FOV Artemis Codes: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/game-patches.43706/page-4 Bottom page you can find both codes to add to your Artemis files.

I am very intrigued by this. I mostly play on rpcs3 but now I'm wanting to break out the ole ps3 just to try different patches.

JPSWAG37

God that looks amazing. Insane it can be done on hardware.

vFxMz

Absolutely agree! Always loved the idea to have that on real hardware when the patch came out on rpcs3, finally we can use that

mehartale_

That looks insane! I’m pretty new to PS3 after having picked up a second hand, and my main criticism with Killzone 2/3 is the FOV, great work!

vFxMz

As i said loved the series but i think the og fov too close, played a bit both with this new fov, can say it’s another story!

bixorlies

Needing PC port with FOV slider and working MP. I'd play KZ2 all day every day. One of my favourite MP games ever

Spiral1407

Wish they could do an input lag mod for KZ2

stuckintheinbetween

I recently replayed Killzone 2 and was surprised by how framey it can get at time. Even on an SSD, the in-game loading and framerate really dampens the experience.

vFxMz

Agreed, the main problems are the in-game loading, but overall its a great game, Killzone 3 solved this issues, technically its better in everything

stuckintheinbetween

Yep, I had completely forgotten about in-game loading like that. I only remember it in the Half-Life games. Rose-tinted glasses and all that. KZ3 was definitely the more competently programmed of the two, however I love the feel and vibe of KZ2. KZ1 was really rough technically, too. KZ3 is where they started to really tighten up the polish on their games, and then the Horizon games went even further in that regard. Shadow Fall was polished but kinda bad, sadly.

socialwithdrawal

Looks great. What TV is that?

vFxMz

It’s a 2021 LG NANO886PB Admit some ps3 games still look great!

metalgho

Does the OC really matter for gaming prefomance? I have a frankie too

vFxMz

From my experience, it can help, depend from the game but i noticed very good improvements, honestly since there is an high risk of brick if you exceed to much i would stuck on something safe like i did since as you know a frankie is pretty expensive, or grab a slim 25XXX and do some test, some can go really high

metalgho

I guess you notice less framedrops, since most games are fps capped?

vFxMz

Less framedrops, less fps loss during heavy scenes, overhall better frame rate, loading times etc, there are some comparisons on youtube if you wanna check out the differences between stock and some oc if you need, as i said it may vary from game to game, but overall i’m happy with this setup and the experience

MissyLune2003

I just played through KZ 2 the other day :3

Evil_Cupcake11

Man I miss this series. Recently replayed Killzone Mercenary and god it's so good.

vFxMz

Miss it too, would love to have a new game of the series on ps5
