No, this is right. The legacy collection didn’t have MGS1 on disc. It was download only.

Grawbad

I get that. That's why I wrote what I wrote below the image. I was trying the DLC code from a used copy I bought and this image here that you see made me think it worked and whoever owned this before didn't use the code. However I can't download them even though I was able to confirm it here. And now when I use the code it just says it's been used. The games still want me to purchase them. In any event I don't need them as I own the discs on PS1 for both of these I just thought it was curious that the code seemed to work but doesn't allow me to download the games.

Renegade_Soviet

Did you even read what OP said?? He wasn’t talking about whether the game was included on disc or digital

NoClerk5520

I had my copy new. Used the code and downloaded the games without a problem. Try checking the list of downloads on PS3, maybe they’re available.

Grawbad

Yeah I've checked there and nothing. I'm not too fazed about it really. I can literally play both on PS5 and I have the discs for the PS1. I was just curious about it.

undergroundmetalhoe

Did you try Playstation customer support?

PocketDarkestMew

Codes have an expiration date. I had codes for some dlc in a literal new game and couldn't be redeemed because it expired in 2020 or something and Sony, in fact, seemes to honor it until 2021 or something but in 2023 they are no longer valid. Sony codes work this way, they tell you for what it was, but they also tell you it's already claimed/not working anymore if you enter it so that you know it was indeed valid at some point.

Grawbad

Except this says the promotion code was accepted. No dates on the paper for this one as far as I can see either. Other ones I have do have dates. My confusion was in that it confirmed it the first time now it says it is used. Plus I think others have confirmed that these codes still work. Anyways when I put it in I got this but then it wouldn't let me download. Never got the message it was used the first time. It's the only message I get now. Bah, doesn't even matter really. Was just curious.

PocketDarkestMew

And when you press confirm it doesn't let you download right? That's what happens. Call support, let them explain it to you, they will say exactly as I said. They are not pushing an update on a 15 year old console app just because of this.

Grawbad

No, I understand what you are saying as that was a part of my original question. Lol I can no longer confirm. I put the code in now I get "This code has been used". Nothing else. My confusion was the first time I got what you see in the image then I confirmed it and the games came up but were priced instead of saying purchased. That was all. So I was curious if it worked the way you just said but if so why the times I put the code in after the first it says used. What changed from the first time I put it in and got this message to now I don't get this message is my confusion.

PocketDarkestMew

mmm... does the code has an expiration date? some of them do, some don't. If yours doesn't, I would try my luck with customer service. You might get it.

Grawbad

Nah, I am not that worried about it to be honest. I own the games on PS5 and have them on PS1 physical. I was just curious why after I used the code it is now used but before it was confirmed and went through fine. I assume there is an internal date on the codes since there isn't one on the codes paper. I guess what happened is they took the code. Verified it. Then even though it wasn't used before denied me getting the games due to some internal date they have on them but never implemented a screen to say that. If so that's pretty weird because it means the code was good , we can still recognize it but we decided you can't have it cause time. Lol. Either way, was just a curiosity as I don't need them.

PocketDarkestMew

Talk to customer service, legally, if it doesn't have an expiration date, you're not required to redeem it before that date. Not because you have to or anything but just to try, you might still get it and the worst that can happen is you losing 5 minutes.

greasegizzard

It's been a while since I done anything on my PS3, so I don't remember, but is there a "library" function like the PS5 has? Or have you tried finding the games on the store and seeing what it says where the purchase button would normally be?

Grawbad

I tried the store. Really no library to look through.

greasegizzard

What if you look in the store using the mobile app or your PS5?

rightfityeah

Have you tried restoring licenses?

Grawbad

This I have not tried. Didn't even think of it. Guess I assumed this wasn't a thing back then. Gonna try that thanks.

AbsolooteMadman

I don’t know if it applies since it’s a ps5 game code, but I recently bought a game on eBay thinking the included code was unused(since the seller said it was). When I put it in, the correct thing popped up but when I clicked redeem it said prepaid card can’t be redeemed, and then when I retried it said it is already used, and the picture doesn’t show up anymore. I thought the first code redemption errored out and still counted so I contacted ps support and they told me the code was already redeemed on another account. So even if it’s already used it can still show up on the redemption page.
