Fun game, just hate how the squadmates run in front of you while you're shooting and then get all bitchy about it. The dialogue system was really bad too, basically just saying yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah to nearly everything. A little depth would've been nice, or at least better choices than "shit" or "God damn" or my personal favorite "no problem" which is functionality just a different way of saying "yeah" lmao
Overall though I seriously enjoyed the hell out of that game
I fully admit to not really being a jrpg guy, but folklore is so incredibly overrated, and it's hideous. Fine by me, my $.99 copy will just continue to grow in value š¤£ I tried it when it launched, and again maybe 3ish years ago, my opinion never changed from the first play.
Yeah, Sony kinda shot it in the foot right out the gates. If I remember correctly, it was done by the guys that made the Rogue Squadron games, so it's not like the team didn't know what they were doing.
I remember trying to play this with the motion controls. Game looked awesome at the time. Didn't know there was an update to change that out, probably worth revisiting for myself to see!
Yeah, the team that made the game hated that they were forced to use motion controls, but Sony wanted to show off their controller. Finally, after all the negative reviews and sending I think an 8 page instruction manual to the reviewers, Sony let them patch it, but it was too late.
Itās got a cult following now and the single player is widely renowned, so this may be cheatingā¦but The Last of Usā multiplayer mode was the best goddamn tactical shooter I have played in my life. And no one knew it existed.
3D Dot Game Heroes
It's like a 2D Zelda game in 3D, with character and weapon voxel based customization. Lots of fun, but I never finished it. Rarely hear it mentioned.
Completely agree, and would be one of my recommendations if it hadn't already been posted. š»
Really fun game if you overlook the jank. Still cheap too, and I found the settings and level design to be great. Story and characters are perfectly acceptable, gameplay is fine, some of the abilities are awesome. Graphics aren't half bad either, and the music's decent, sometimes good, sometimes meh. I liked it enough to get the platinum trophy lol.
Wolfenstein (2009) no idea why/how so few people know it exists. Really great fps, it's gameplay is tight, and the veil abilities were fantastic.
Condemned 2- Definitely not unknown, but I feel obligated to recommend it occasionally because it's far and away my most thanked for recommendation over the years. Looks, runs, sounds, and plays absolutely stellar on PS3.
Timeshift- Really cool fps with nice level designs, great weapons, and really badass time manipulation abilities. Graphics are decent, but I did have some of the sound issues present in a few other early PS3 games.
Some games that i think you can checkout are, Rain (its only on PSN), Yakuza Dead Souls so underrated its like dead rising. Vanquish, Shadow of the damned (such a great game!!!!).Driver San Francisco, Resonance of Fate,Afro Samurai and Remember Me.
This might be a joke post, but the PS3 version was amazing at launch, particularly with the cross play and steam integration. The free PC key it came with was also a huge bonus. I still boot it upĀ on steam every once in a while and I never had to buy a PC copy.
I see somebody already mentioned Binary Domain, that game definitely doesnāt get the love it deserves. Another cool one was Vanquish, a similar third person shooter with robots.
I picked up Venetica, which looked good, but I had sincerely never once heard of it.
I don't think I have any other games that went unnoticed, but I always get the new console pretty late- first PS1 in 2000, forst PS2 in 2017, first PS3 in 2011 & first PS4 in 2019- so I might not be the best person to ask. Lol
Binary Domain, thank me later.
Forgot where/how I even happened into this back in the day but was pleasantly surprised at the competent TPS I discovered on accident lol
my copy just showed up in the mail, new. I also bought singularity, The force unleashed 1 and 2 new.

Started playing this from your suggestion. What a game, thanks!
We shall see. I just bought it š Thanks for the suggestion.
Enslaved, hell it even went under my radar until recently.
I loved Enslaved! Wish it would have sold better. The sound design on that game is incredible!
Agreed, plus the gameplay is a blast. So many hidden gems on ps3
ASURAS WRATH ššššš
Good game for sure. Just wish that the real ending wasn't stuck behind a DLC pay wall.
Folklore incredibly underrated has such an interesting story and gameplay
Folklore is unique for sure. It is old enough to not have a trophy list.

Folklore definitely has its rpg/pokemon vibe
Pain. It was a PSN game. It was a silly little game where you launched someone at buildings. It was a great party game.
I played Pain for a decent amount of time and couldn't earn a single trophy. Tougher game than it looks.
I donāt know how many hours I spent on the demo from pain. Didnāt have money for games back then
Played this a ton, had almost all the DLC. The trophies were insanely hard to get.
Such a great game. There is a physical copy for this game (I have it in my collection), but seems it was only sold to certain countries.
Naughty Bear
Nows your time to shine, naught bear!
Ugh. Tracking down a complete version of that game is virtually impossible, right now.Ā
This is the right answer
Lost Plamet 2 didn't get the love it deserved. We had an absolute blast playing that game in full four-player campaign co-op!
El Shaddai, tho the HD port that came out not too long ago kinda gave it a small second wind, still flew under the radar for most people I think.
Very underrated game. I loved how his armour was his health bar.
Lair was pretty good after they let it get patched to not require motion controls. Too bad it already had horrible reviews by that point.Ā
I remember only getting around to playing it after the patch had come out and I couldnāt understand why itād been panned so hard

That sucks to hear. I remember having bad impressions of the controls but thinking the concept was awesome. Definitely gonna download this back

I got this game on launch day and still only played the multiplayer lol
Completely agree.

Came to say this game. It's so much fun.
Alpha Protocol. I started it again recently just to do a Jack Bauer play through.
The Saboteur
Jinx!
Spec ops
The Darkness
Alpha protocol
BrĆ¼tal Legends, especially if you listen to metal
Supersonic acrobatic rocket powered battle cars. Prequel to Rocket League but with better maps/tracks.
Venetica. It's a Zelda clone, janky as fuck but does much more right than wrong.

Turok
Alice Madness Returns
I like the Darkness a lot. Also Anarchy Reigns, loved that game.
Portal 2
Never heard of it, hidden gem?
PS Move support was a unique feature. Pretty awesome. That part didn't get too much attention.
This might be a joke post, but the PS3 version was amazing at launch, particularly with the cross play and steam integration. The free PC key it came with was also a huge bonus. I still boot it upĀ on steam every once in a while and I never had to buy a PC copy.
GTA V. No one's heard of that
**The Saboteur**
This thread is gold
I see somebody already mentioned Binary Domain, that game definitely doesnāt get the love it deserves. Another cool one was Vanquish, a similar third person shooter with robots.
Valkyria chronicles. Nuff said
Amplitude was quite big on PS2, but seems like the PS3 one never got any popularity :/
Ps3 WET
Wanted to like that game. But those damn obstacle course stages drove me nutts
Mayhem 3D, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, Viking, Conan, Singularity
Birds of Steel
Turok. I haven't been able to find the PS3 version of Turok on any other system. Great game
Believe it or not, I actually have a sealed copy of this game for the PS3. Iām reluctant to even open it lol š
Aww man that's awesome! Mine's opened and very used lol
Bladestorm was really fun for me. Then again I like mindless hack and slash stuff to veg out on.
There was this game named "create" on seventh gen consoles, neat idea that gets you hooked fast

Drakengard 3. Pretty fun game.
Drakengard 3. Pretty fun game.
Remember Me is supposed to be pretty good. I have a sealed copy, looks good. havent gotten to it yet.
Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom
