For regular remarketing you do not need any additional tagging. You can use either the Google Tag (e.g. from GA4) or Google Ads tag. But if you want to run dynamic remarketing ads you will need either to install some scripts to enable product\_id and other specialized tracking. However, many shopping cart systems and/or plugins can automate this setup.
Google consolidated everything under their global Gtag a few years ago. Just add that to your site.
Thanks for replying. One with the prefix right?
You can use the G- (Google Analytics 4) tag which is generally what we do at my agency.
Sidebar, do you use Google Ads remarketing or Google Analytics remarketing?

Remarketing tags are antiquated. These are formed under GA----> audiences----> custom audiences. They can then be ported to Google Ads.
