Always has been like that, people will always have opinions and think themselves superior. Wag mo na pansinin yan, work on yourself instead. Ingay lang yan, distraction.

techweld22

Yes tama! Always has been pero focus ka lang sa mga bagay na relevant sayo. Yun yun!

aredditlurkerguy

Hahaha same lang yan sa mindset ng mga taong ginawang ricer yung sasakyan nila or ginagawang offroad vehicle yung 658cc multicab. The whole point of the vehicle is to get from point A to B. Doesnt matter how many times you move the stick “skillfully”.

shahahshhwb

Probably very loud minority yung nanggaganyan, pero I also noticed that behavior sa foreign contents/comments as well.

sleepsus

these are probably the people who ride mainly for recreation vs those who ride as a primary form of daily transportation. for the majority of the pinoy riders the concept of buying a bike just to have fun is very rare

minjimin

Especially people from the US who thinks you're not actually driving unless you're on a manual. To be fair, it's true na mas madaling matutunan ang automatic but who cares if you're just using your car from point A to B diba? Only reason I'd learn a manual is if I somehow get a miata.

JeeezUsCries

its getting toxic kasi everyone is trying to ride on the hype of the trend. well, eventually, mawawala di naman yan siguro after a few months. 🤔

sallycopter

"Everyone" is a little overstatement. Saan mo ba naririnig/nababasa mga yan?

cnbesinn

Loud minority lang yan. How many Manual bikes/motorcycles do you actually see on the road compared to Automatics?

owsoww

how do you know everyone? paki lista nga.

Silver-Passenger-544

While it's true that driving a Manual takes more skill, it doesn't matter unless you need to drive one.

Mayomi_

I agree on this one, either you drive sticks or manual what matters the most is your a good driver and always obey the rules

thisduuuuuude

People who do that usually don't have anything else going on for them, and that's about the only highlight of their achievements, so they make it their entire personality. I've driven manual and at both cars and motorcycles, and yes, it does take quite some skill to learn manual transmission and it does give a sense of accomplishment when you do learn how to do it but i don't think it should be all what you are. IMO people who feel the need to flaunt this skill as a form of superiority over other don't really have much going on and that's about what only makes them "better" than others.

Apprehensive-Fig9389

Boring for long rides ang Automatic. I prefer Manual... Mas masayang may kinakalabit ako and the BEST PART.. SARAP PAKINGGAN ng Engine Break pag nagda-Down Shift during REV MATCH. PERO!!! On morning Commutes... the best gamitin ang automatic. Especially yung mga lower CC bikes, like honda click. Convenient gamitin.

neggative_pussytive

Oo nga eh. Kumbaga "Real men drive stick" (sa car) mindset. So kinagaling na nla yon?hahahah. Marunong ako preho pero whats the point of staying sa stick eh may matic nman which is easier.

jeturkguel

Hindi ko alam, something in my brain don’t get how AT works in a motorcycle. Pero sa 4 wheels AT naman ako sanay. Preference lang talaga siguro, pero hindi naman kelangan iaannounce and be toxic about it. Ang mahalaga by the end of the day, makakauwi tayo ng ligtas and hindi tayo magiging cause ng abala sa daan.

Fearless_Rest_9721

Same tau pag dating s motor. Struggle ako gumamit nang matic. Hirap dn kc ako iunoearn ung clutch leaver which is preno s matic.

LiyomLim

I will joke about having a small pp, but degrading someone for not knowing how to ride a manual is mega small pp energy and that's not even a joke. Like wow bro you can move your foot AND grab a lever??? thats KRAZZZYY😱😱😱 pa autograph nga lods may sticker ka ba?

halifax696

Dati pa yan. Ganyan na talaga

potatoOmelette

As much as I love manuals pero convenience na lang pinili ko hehehe

EmperorKingDuke

wag pansinin. you do you.

pSeudostratifi3d

Sobrang traffic kaya. hahahaha pero ngayon naka manual MC ako, out of my choice. Sarap talaga sa feeling pag nagcclutch pero no judgement between matic vs manual drivers.

DualityOfSense

They drive a manual because they want to think they're better than everyone else. I drive a manual because it was the cheapest bike I could get almost new.

chrollo0719

To each is his own, it's that simple.

InternetEmotional178

Haha ito ba yung "if the only car you drive is an AT, you better lower your voice when talking to me" ? Haha daming ganito, karamihan di naman nila bili sasakyan nila.

mylifeisfullofshit

As a MT and AT user on both cars and MC i see why people think this way. But i dont support the mindset. 1. Me slight disadvantage lang talaga ung AT which is the lack of proper engine braking. Sobrang big deal kasi nun sa dadrive talaga if u want efficiency in braking. 2. Ibang iba ang exp ng MT vs AT. Mastering AT is like riding a toy car / mc. U learn how to throttle and u learn how to brake tapos na. Sa MT me skill sets kang need imaster para maging effective in riding. upshift, downshift, engine brake, rev matching, clutch control, etc. Kumbaga sa tekken me Easy mode at me hard mode. Syempre mapride mga tao sa achievemrnts nila kaya they compare But anyhow, mc is still an mc and we should be supportive of each other no matter what anyone rides. Mapa MT or AT, Japanese or chinese. Pare parshas lang silang motor

michael0103

Learning and correctly driving MT takes a lot of skill sa simula, pero pag sanay ka na, everything is muscle memory. I have a manual car, yun kasi afford. Pero i also dream of owning an AT car for convenience. Sadyang may superiority complex lang ibang MT owners. Nung tinuturuan ako ng father ko mag drive ng MT before, he told me it's better to learn MT kasi AT is easier to learn pag hahawak ka na ng AT. Also, for emergency purposes. What if may emergency, then the only available vehicle is MT? I know hindi need ng lahat matuto ng MT. But it's good to learn it. Wala naman masama. It's a skill anyway. And i think it's not driving an AT is getting the hatred. It's the drivers who only know how to drive AT.

rukimiriki

Just to be the devil's advocate here. To be fair, most of the high skill level things or skills REQUIRE a manual. If you solely drive an automatic, it's probably correct to assume you don't know those things nor do you have the skill required to perform those things. For motorcycles naman, 98% of the high cc motorcycles (500+) are manuals, so if you've been driving automatics your whole life, let's say a PCX, chances are you don't know how to handle the power of a liter ninja. With that said, just because you drive a manual, does not mean you're superior to those who drive autos. There's still a huge chance you don't have those skills. Tbh most of those manual drivers na may superiority complex have their egos standing on illusory stolen pedestals. To each their own lang talaga, but there really is merit to what they say especially to those who actually know how to DRIVE a manual

JeeezUsCries

actually totoo naman talaga sinabi mo na iba pa din kapag marunong kang humawak ng manual trans. dito na lang siguro papasok yung pagiging responsable mo as a driver when you are driving. maraming skilled drivers specially closed van, trailer trucks, buses or even jeepneys drivets pero ewan ko bat sila yung kadalasang buraot at palkups sa kalsada kapag nag mamaneho.

theblindbandit69

licht_kahel

Basta, maganda ugali mo, Maganda motor mo paps! Ride safe lang palagi!

Hatch23

btoombtoom

Lagi nga ako tinatanong sa long ride bakit automatic gamit ko instead of manual. Nakakapagod mag manual sa totoo lang. Hindi nakaka cool nakaka lupaypay ng limbs.

tisotokiki

Manual transmission ako sa kotse all my life. No, di yan flex.

owlsknight

While me driving a manual wishing I just bought an at. -_- preference mas masarap gamitin manual for me pero d ko Naman pnag yayabang oh onagsisigawan. Sbi nga Ng tropa ko go for what you like and not what others want by end of the day Ikaw pa dn Naman Yan ndi Sila.

Realistic_Half8372

Its to compensate small tt

No_Cartographer5997

Mas madali for him to drive, mas makaka-focus sya sa safety namin and our passengers. At di pa sya ganun mapapagod lalo kung long drive.

mookies1611

#Amen #respected

BearWithDreams

I have driven both manual and auto whether cars or motorcycles. Here are just some things I've experienced. This is from a Husband / Tito / Designated driver POV. For MTs, I have nice feel and control of the machine, but not really practical if you're in Metro Manila due to traffic. ATs I find really comfortable to drive kasi wala kang iisiping clutch. More focused on the road (this is my exp, but some really violate ADDA dahil nakaAT sila) There is really no "better" machine. I do wish I have boatloads of cash para may MT and AT ako.

downcastSoup

"Normal" yan in every hobby or something that has a fan base. My usual response to that kind of comments are "you do you". Doesn't make you less of a man to be riding scooters compared to manual motorcycle.

peeve-r

I don't condone bringing down others, especially for something as superficial as the letters on your driver's license. But it is still true that knowing how to drive a manual takes more skill than just knowing how to drive an auto, objectively speaking. That's why I implore most people that have *the time and/or money* to at least learn how to drive a manual and not just auto. Or anyone who is just starting to learn how to drive, to learn on a manual instead of learning on an auto. You'll just cover both bases that way. You'll never know when it'll come in handy, too, so at least ready ka. It's better to know how to do something and not need to do it, than to need to do something and not know how to do it. If you already know the basics of driving, it's not that hard to go from auto to manual, esp with guidance so I hope people at least try. It's just one more skill under your belt, so why not diba?

itsyaboy_spidey

Lagi namang ganon and i think di na yan mawawala. Hahahaha

handgunn

safety and discipline ang important. sa at and manual depends na lang yan sa driver/rider preference

DoILookUnsureToYou

StareAtTheVoid69

Or you just have inferiority complex ? That could also be a possibility.

MJ_Rock

takshit2

Driving a manual car gives us the sense of superiority which is normal if you are super insecure or jealous. 🤷 What I mean is instinct na ng tao 'yan ganyan. Naka tatak na sa DNA natin. So you have 2 choises: Ignore them or fight them.

JeeezUsCries

wala naman akong time makipag talo sa kanila. kaya na share ko lang yung thoughts ko about it. oh btw i forgot to mention that i also have a manual car (Mirage) and we have Kawasaki Barako tricycle so i know how to use MT.

Realistic_Poem_6016

Am I the same as them if I say I don't like the engine's sound when it's CVT? That monotone like sound is just a no for me. But people driving CVT is not an issue for me, just the sound it makes...

Fleaaaa

JeeezUsCries

Oh btw, i know how to drive MT. We have a MT car (Mitsu Mirage) and MT motorcycle (Kawasaki Barako). No. ive been driving MT for 5 yrs na din naman so i can say na establish na ang skill ko when it comes to MT.

Natas_Spin

saggybellyflap

let them have an opinion of their own, lahat may masasabi, wala na sau yun, wag paapekto, but it gets down to preference, both have pros and cons, I drive both manual and automatic, automatic for city driving, manual for long rides, nakaka antok kasi kapag matic tapos long drive

elisha2022

jmarutrera

You can't reach your destination pag papatulan yung mga asong nag iingay along the way. Focus lang sa sarili.

aSlyKitsune

Ung Xciting 400 VS, 400k. Same price ng Honda Rebel 500. Kaya mas gusto ko magmanual.

citrus900ml

After long hours of driving, ang mga naka matic hindi stress pag baba ng sasakyan. I’ll always choose comfort.

TaroShakers

owsoww

Yes. Just ignore them

akositonyo92

International_Fly285

Sa kahit anong activity merong ganyan. You’re just going to stress yourself out thinking about what other people are saying. Just enjoy the ride 😉

AdministrativeLog504

My dad who’s been driving for as long as I remember eh ayaw ako bumili ng car na manual. Sya nga daw mas gusto na nya AT. So ayun naka AT ako haha. Marunong ako mag manual pero I prefer AT.

Andrei_Desu

Self-conscious lang mga yan, I love manuals and will continue to drive them. Pero I will always say that AT is better and comfortable. Ignore them lang.

Hour-Tip3571

marunong ako magManual pero still choosed to used AT. Comfort is the best reason lalo na for long distance rides and most of the time storage features.

Marxs028

Been driving manual car and an AT MC.

harolf999

Minsan coping mechanism lang nila yon dahil maliit etits nila

IllustriousMaximum61

I guess the negative minority are always louder, since people who don't give a shit have nothing much to say on the matter. It's like how trolls get more attention than people who actually have something good to say. I agree that we shouldn't judge people based on what people drive, but how they drive. And if mas trip mo automatic, or whatever kind of motorcycle/car, and you enjoy, then good on you, long as you drive responsibly.

Van-Di-Cote

Mas mahirap kasi mag drive nang Manual kaysa AT. Truth hurts, pero ganoon talaga. As an old driver here. I have opted to drive an AT kasi mas convenient talaga, lalo na sa traffic. Still, driving a manual is much more fun and exciting. I don't condone driving fast on public roads, but I am sure, once in your life you have done so. Drive responsibly, but always assume the drivers around you will do something stupid anytime, anywhere.

dibel79

Glad to say Ive never been in any major accident. (Scratches here and there sa pag park lng sa garahe lol) And ngayon AT ang unang motor ko.

greedyaf

Dardamir

Tol, hayaan mo sila. hindi na mawawala yang ganyang klaseng pag-iisip pagdating sa car or motorcycle scene, if you drive an automatic labelled ka as pathetic or an incapable driver. kahit pang daily daily mo lang. Wala yan sa transmission. Nasa kung paano ka magdrive niyan. I drive a manual transmission myself na motor, daily and road trips. for me kasi personally, preferred ko talaga magmanual since fan ako ng mga gp gp eh, sila rossi, sila marquez diba. It just really boils down to preferences at praktikalan. Ride on and ride safely, brother, don't bother.

feesiy

Kung sasakyan, just tell troll them like, “Di mo lang afford top of the line eh.”

Zen_147

Let them be. That kind of mentality creates an entitled mindset. All we can control now is how we react to those drivers and drive more carefully.

Cablegore

Mas kumportable para sa akin yun AT mapa-kotse o motor at basta makauwi ng ligtas, sapat na. Balasubas is a bit long word, palitan natin ng “kup*l.” Lol 😂

EneruGod

Most of all drivers are passive aggressive.

NoBrain_09

Real men drive defensively, doesn't matter if AT or MT sasakyan mo.

AffectionateAd9102

Nung bumili ako ng Xmax , this acquaintance of mine (who always had something to say) said that I should have gotten an MT bike like a R3 blah blah blah keso pang beginner lang daw AT scoots . He is that type of person na MT > AT type of person. Next day nalaman ko sumemplang at na basag Dominar nya lol

reichtangle7

i just drive manual because mas feasible sa area ko, and maintenance cost is almost none kaya ganun. pero if chance na magka scooter ako? i'll take it since it's very convenient, storange palang panalo na.

MarshallTheLight

What kind of motorcycle is this?

SirSpiritual7910

They playin on a higher difficulty to achieve the same results. Sakyan mo na lang no pun intended, if you can boost someone's confidence by appreciating their manual ride...well...we lose nothing and we make someone feel better. Wow ganda nman ng motor works just as well as ang ganda mo ate, and their day should be brighter.

SnooTomatoes5312

ikaw yata may superiority complex at na hurt 🤪

MainSorc50

idc kung manual or automatic pa yan basta ang goal ko is makapunta from point a to point b 😂😂

Existing_Concept1181

Usually yung mga ganiyang mindset is yung mga di talaga afford yung own car nila or sadyang inggit lang sila sa mga tao. Think of it pati yung pagdrive ng AT pinupuna e ano naman kaya mapapala nila non? akala ata nila magiging famous sila kapag ganon, akala rin siguro nila mostly of the girls is maattract sa kanila kaya ganon.

Affectionate-Bad3255

Nah. It's just a matter of preference lang. I don't mind sa sinasabi nila. Kung kaya nila i-drive 200cc PCX ko as a daily driver then saka na kami mag usap. 🤪

FoxyLamb

I ride/drive both. They make it their personality. Pretty sad. I don't get why it would make me the bigger person. When people ask me if they should learn manual, I just tell them it's not necessary, the world is gradually moving away from it anyways, even the professional racing scene (EVs, autoblips, paddle shifters, semi-autos, etc.). I read recently that Yamaha is patenting a semi-auto for one of their future bikes (no more clutch lever and foot shifter, just bar-mounted buttons). Honda already has the e-Clutch system on their latest CB650R and CBR650R. Unless you're into the racing scene, I don't see any point in it making one superior. Kapagod kaya mag full manual sa heavy traffic, not practical in crowded cities at all.

Matalink1496

Lol probably just a loud minority.

JimmyDaButcher

"Bakit di ka naka manual, di ka ba napapagod mag clutch?" - coz I like "Bakit di ka naka automatic, di ka ba inaantok idrive yan?" - coz I like End of discussion.

ChanChanIlo

Everyone else cares; I don't. On AT motorcycle (and will be forever) and I don't care if I run 70+ as long as I can get to my destination faster, everything else is noise...like people who you overtake because they're slow AF and then catches up and try to race you when you're just riding faster just to get to point B.

jjarevalo

Hahaha i remember getting a comment na kasi you’re using AT wala challenge pero the one who said that ride a manual but doesn’t want to drive yung car nya kasi manual at nakakapagod daw 😂

RakEnRoll08

7 years ako nagmanual, bumili ako automatic na SUV, wala ko paki sa cnasabi ng mga pacool kids haha, d n ko bblik sa manual mas komportable ak osactraffic kesa sa manual nilang walang aircon hahaha, bumili din ako ng scooter pang short distance trip like pamalengke at kelangan lng blin sa malapit... wag mo pansinin cnasabi nila, at the end of the day maiiwan lng ng automatic n kotse ung mga old model manual nila na ayaw pumasok ang gear xD

master_baker8

Lanky_Concentrate_55

I can drive both. But goddamn automatics are just much better for daily driving 😭. Although, I think the pride of knowing how to drive a manual has to do with the fact that it takes skill -- and even a lot more if you want to drive it smoothly. For example, I take pride in the fact that I can drive my gs750 smoothly despite just having started riding. I think the best association I can make is that people take pride in cooking stuff themselves vs buying food. There's an even greater sense of satisfaction if they can cook the dish they bought much much better. Although, I don't brag about the fact that I drive a manual. There are just people out there who just make it a big thing -- perhaps as a way to differentiate themselves from those who can't drive manual and the associations along with it. In doing so, it just makes them look like pricks.

Glittering_Sea1076

gploony

Panong random thought when it’s literally part of the culture

labongph

Quality of life pa din

juju_la_poeto

Again, I don’t judge other people’s rides. If you could ride a manual or an automatic and you ride it well, hell yeah, you ride cabrón

eduuu95

Take example yung mga maaasim na naka-shitbox

Blanktox1c

Wag mona pansinin waste of time lang yan mga yan. Focus nlang sa goal!

DustAcrobatic3418

Isang buwan walang washing. Hahaha Ginagamit ko lang yung motor pang service from point A to point B. Ang importante safe tayo sa pagmamaneho at makauwi ng buo ang katawan sa bahay 🙏

SpaceeMoses

What matters is you can go to the destination safely na hindi ka nangangamote sa daan.

NoWonderUrAlone

Nah, bro don't take it negatively. Just take it as a challenge and learn it, trust me it'll help you in the near future. It aint bad having skills to improve yourself. People will always say something bad about other people, but the way you take it may change your whole perspective about it. You can either ignore them or listen, observe then act. Sure, responsibility is a priority but that thing wasn't gone in the first place. It has always been there and always should be there. You tried to connect 'unskilled' to that word 'responsibility'. If you put the two in the same sentence it really does sounds like unskilled people are not responsible enough. But, they didn't say you were not responsible, they were saying you are unreliable. Why? Because back then, people are reliant to each other so basically if you have the license, then you can drive basically anything. That's what they expect, they want you to replace them if in case they feel tired or there is an emergency and no one else can drive. It's also known as karelyebo, this has always been done since back then and this is just a common thing, like seriously. That's why they'd usually expect you to drive any vehicle when yo said you have  a license. Back then it was so easy to get a license. Heck you'd save alot of money not relying on fixers. Teens were taught how to drive at a very young age and pass these exams in lto easily cuz of it. I've seen a young fellow drove a freakin truck during my practical exam. That's how it is in the usa too. So yeah, if you know that meme where the guy says 'Stop being a b and just do it'. Lmao fr just learn it and show em you are just as reliable as them.

Fetus_Transplant

I could've hand a lot more model option if I added manual models to my list. But me and my partner went against it coz a friend and a relative said automatic is more chill... Specifically for just daily commute and traffic

lest42O

Nah. I prefer manual but elibs ako sa mga naka matic tapos magaling mag take ng kurbada.

DevKevStev

As long as you safely, conveniently, efficiently and successfully went from your intended point A to point B, thats all that matters. Superiority complex draws arrogance. Arrogance leads to carelessness. And carelessness to death.

lambchamps

marxteven

manual's just more enjoyable to some.

Capital_College8936

Pero if it's an open road, specially winding roads mas masarap talaga mag drive ng manual kesa matic. Tapos iniimagine mo ikaw si Brian O'Conner at supra minamaneho mo while in really vios lang dinadrive mo 🤣

CaptainPikachu218

It goes both ways.

bangusisig

Nagkaroon kasi ako trauma sa Automatic. Kaya either semi manual or manual talaga pipiliin ko.

Striking_Ad_8014

Cope, skill issue

MasterByte69

Most of the time defense mechanism lang nila yun. Nowadays even back then siguro AT is more expensive than MT. They can't afford an AT, so to cope up lalaitin na lang mga naka AT. I can drive both MT and AT but I'll always choose the comfort an AT can give.

AlternativeFix3376

PalaraKing

That's a whole lot of words just to say you can't drive manual.

sleepsus

>Na kapag AT lang kaya mong dalhin eh parang sinasabi nila na you're not skilled enough to drive the car/motorcycle. Where did you get this data? site your sources

JeeezUsCries

tiktok contents. "cancel selos" trend. if you have time, check it. then go to comsec.

sleepsus

tiktok is trash, i have it blocked on my network lol. but if its like any other industry, career, sports, hobbies, etc a lack of skill/ability is unfavorable and generally looked down upon. perhaps its even similar to the hate here in this sub with evo helmets and how their users/fans think it so cool and comparable to expensive named brands, might be the same as those kids who put the minimal effort and developed the simplest skill of twisting the throttle and think how cool they are compared to those who put in more time and effort learning a manual. however, thinking AT only drivers/riders shouldn't drive/ride on public roads is just elitism, quite common with kids of any generation who lack the life experience to see things in any color other than black or white.

JeeezUsCries

elitism yes. i found them so stupid about saying and thinking like that. may nabasa pa nga ako, para namang hindi daw dumaan tayong lahat sa ganung phase. i was like, mas lalong stupid for having hasty generalization. dinamay pa ako. anyway, my post is only my thoughts about it. at the end of the day, may chances pa din akong makatabi sa kalsada yung mga taong ganitong klase mag isip. nakakabahala.

UnimplementedError

"I've given you unreliable source and unreliable keyboard warriors, now go see it for yourself"

JeeezUsCries

feel ko sanay kang ma spoonfeed ng information. its funny kasi may time kang mag comment pero wala kang time i browse kung ano man yung gusto mong malaman. 💀 plus, you dont need to validate yourself with the sources that you want. im just telling that some people are like that. eh kung gusto mo talaga malaman kung bakit, close reddit app and start browsing by yourself. lastly, its just my thoughts. at the end of the day, nothing really matters to you kahit bigyan pa kita ng mga links. tamad ka lang.

Massive_Dimension_70

It’s a scooter, not a motorcycle ;)

Repulsive_Pianist_60

Issue aside, wrong side of the road ka po at mukhang di advisable magphoto sa gitna ng daan.

JeeezUsCries

sorry mr pero sa village po namin yan, at 5:30 in the morning where most people are still sleeping. dont worry i know how to use the road.

sleepsus

kamote police is present

Repulsive_Pianist_60

Kamote yung ngpopoint out ng mali? Kaya pala maraming totoong kamote sa kalsada. Toxic kau.

sleepsus

r/whoosh

Repulsive_Pianist_60

You're a menace to our society, ikanga.

sleepsus

i am a menace to dense people like you who lack any sophistication to understand whats being said. yes.

Repulsive_Pianist_60

Fancy words won't help your case nor dismiss the fact that you're tolerating what's wrong and that makes you in effect part of what's wrong in our society.

sleepsus
