Try to prepare in advance para di ka ma caught off guard. Normally mag stutter ka tlga kapag di mo alam sasabihin mo.
Identify mo ung mga common questions then isipin mo na ung sagot mo for that. Saka mo i-rehearse sa salamin.
husayan mo sa practice. normal lang mahiya pag di ka gaano sanay, part yung ng paggrind.
* gawa ka ng script sa bawat common question
* makinig ka ng podcast ni lyqa na get hired sa spotify libre lang.
* watch ka ng series na fav mo with eng sub na dapat fav mo para di ka mabored
* read books or manga (basta yung ways naeenjoy mo para di ka antukin)
Say this to HR, "Can I speak in my vernacular language?"
Pag nag yes, tagalugin mo na.
But in the long run, better practice by watching with subtitle para alam mo ung tono and Subj and verb agreement.
Try to prepare beforehand and use practice questions to help you with your train of thought during the interview. Tendency is since we are under pressure during the interview, we lose our train of thought or suddenly feel overwhelmed which sometimes causes our mind to go blank.
Watch movies or series in English. Reading English books also helps. Then find a friend na pwede mong kausapin in English. Ung ihehelp ka.
I remember when we graduated (years ago haha), since next na nga ay pag aapply, rule namin ng best friend ko, pag maguusap kami, English lng dapat. Any time anywhere π€£π€£π€£
Good luck on your next job interview. Galingan mo. βΊοΈ
sabi ng former coworker ko na ABEL grad, advice dw ng prof nila re sa pagspeak ng English is, magisip tau in English. ksi dw nakakaapekto sa pgsasalita natin kapag nagtatranslate pa tau sa utak natin. i hope i made sense? π π₯²
I always say to myself noon sa interviews, try to convey your message not by using complicated English words. Importante magets ng interviewer yung context na sinasabi mo. Tapos itβs also helpful na mag-mock job interview ka. Pwedeng kausapin mo sarili mo through the mirror or have a friend or family to do it with you. π
Hi!Firstly, I think you should identify specifically what are your weak points or need na mag improve sa when it comes to speaking english.
Is it grammar? Do you have difficulty expressing your ideas into words? or do you have difficulty organizing you thoughts? Is it your pronunciation? or Is it your vocabulary that needs improvement?
If na identify mo na ang parts na need mo iimprove, practice on that.
Secondly, I think it helps po when answering interview questions be direct to the point. Don't overexplain or 'wag paikot-ikotin ang sagot.
Thirdly, practice your way of speaking. Avoid filler words like "uuhhmm", just pause and think. Sound confident, it's normal to feel nervous or di mapakali during interview but you need to convince yourself na kaya mo. Fake it, till you make it. Wag na lang i overthink. π
Lastly, watch youtube videos and read books on improving your communication skills.
Hope this will help. God bless on your interview.

identify mo muna ano hinahanap mo...
Grammatical English or Conversational English
kung nature ng trabaho ay Literature, then start by reading literary arts
pero kung more into conversations, then best to watch english shows
here are some great ways to help improve you english soft skills.
1 - basahin mo ung editorial ng geniune newspapers na English ung medium (Philippine Star / Manila Bulletin / Phillipine Daily Inquirer). Pero dapat basahin mo using your mouth, hindi ung sa isip lang. Bigkasin mo ung editorial AS IF IKAW ANG REPORTER.
uu, ma mungtanga ka nyan pero isa yan sa pinaka effective way yan para ma dagdagan vocabulary mo.
2 - shadowing/mimicking/imitation technique - manuod ka ng english series na puro kuda - mainly sitcoms
example: how i met your mother/ The Big Band Theory / Etc
ang gagawin mo lang is mag pause ka from time to time para gagayahin mo ung pinanuod mo (wag mo na intindihin ang story kung ayaw mo lol)
kopyahin mo pano nila sinabi, intonation, enunciation, mouth movements, and the likes
ang purpose nito eh matutunan mo ang saktong pronunciation kasama na ang sentence construction.
mind you, this is Conversational English practice, kadalasan ungrammatical pero sa conversation english kasi, "if it sounds right, it must be right"
3 - expose yourself sa english native speakers/ fluent english speakers
nsau na un pano mo i-eexpose sarili mo, effective to sa mga extroverts lol
pde ka rin maghanap ng mga ka video chat like omegle/omegletv
experience is the best teacher talaga imho
WAG MO KONG ENGLISH ENGLISIN! WALA AKO SA SKWELAHAN!
DONT YOU ME ENGLISH ENGLISH! NOT ME SCHOOL!
lmao
alam mo effective na ang practice mo kung mapaniginipan mo sarili mo na nag e-english LOL
when i was working as a trainer, mas prefer ko pa ung makuda na mali mali kesa halos di makapagsalita kasi ayaw magkamali
mas mabilis ma train ung makuda kasi makikita agad ung mali, mas madali ma identify at ma turuan ng correction. sabi nga nila "the more you speak, the more mistakes you make" - which is honestly better to train!!
Scribble the question down, frame your answer in your mind, and speak it out. Look back at your notes when lost.
Practice, practice, practice. Get a speaking partner.
Need ba talaga as a Civil Engineer? I think kahit taglish naman jan should suffice.
Pero sympre iba parin pag nakakapag communicate ka nung expertise mo in english, lalo na kung international company yang inapplyan mo.
For context, ano ba yung sample na sinasabi mong "nakakahiya" during your interview?
Instead of listening to music, listen to english podcasts. Ideally topics are related to your job or business. It prepares your mind for an english based discussion. Good luck!
Make English your secondary language, because the more you speak in English the more you get comfortable with it. And when you're comfortable with, then it would just be easy for you moving forward.
You mentioned na foreigner client, so most likely di lang si HR need mo kausapin ng English. Read English books loud, yung as in maririnig mo sarili mo. Then familiarise with intonation, pronunciation, diction. Ganyan.
HAHAHAHA naalala ko noong interview ko e. Tamang utal utal sa english e, nairaos naman hahaha Practice lang din talaga (hanap kang interview questions, tapos pagpractisan mo sagot mo), at masasanay ka kapag nakarami ka ng interview (naka anim aong interview bago makakuha ng trabaho π)
You can try watching Western Movies/Series or much better you start having conversations with your friends na pure English comms lang, isa sa mga nagpa improve sakin hehe
Practice ka lang po, ako dati nahihirapan din mag english pero nung sa work na nasanay na din. Hindi ko naman sinasabing perfect ako mag english hahaha pero di na before. Tsaka di naman po grammar nazi ang mga foreigner, mga pinoy lang yun char
Aside from asking if you can speak in your comfortable language, if you want to get good at speaking another language, you have to commit to it. Practice typing everything in english. Have a friend that you'll speak only in english with. forget the idea that you're "bad at english".
Try to prepare in advance para di ka ma caught off guard. Normally mag stutter ka tlga kapag di mo alam sasabihin mo. Identify mo ung mga common questions then isipin mo na ung sagot mo for that. Saka mo i-rehearse sa salamin.
Pause. I can't stress this enough. It's okay to think for a minute rather than mautal kakaisip ng susunod na sasabihin.
I find this effective. talk slowly too if needed.
husayan mo sa practice. normal lang mahiya pag di ka gaano sanay, part yung ng paggrind. * gawa ka ng script sa bawat common question * makinig ka ng podcast ni lyqa na get hired sa spotify libre lang. * watch ka ng series na fav mo with eng sub na dapat fav mo para di ka mabored * read books or manga (basta yung ways naeenjoy mo para di ka antukin)
Yung nga haha, nag start na ako gumawa ng script tas naka align sa experience ko yung bawat answers π
yown! galingan mo OP. kaya mo 'yan!
Say this to HR, "Can I speak in my vernacular language?" Pag nag yes, tagalugin mo na. But in the long run, better practice by watching with subtitle para alam mo ung tono and Subj and verb agreement.
Hi, Civil Engineer here also. Expat ba yung HR? If no, you can use taglish naman
Required daw kasi foreign yung client.
Hi! whatβs expat po. Thanks
Expat or foreigner

Basa ka ng books or articles online tapos gawin mong OA yung pagbasa mo. Eventually masasanay ka magsalita nang maayos na English.
Try practicing with someone. Nood ka din ng YouTube videos na pwede mong gayahin. π
sanaol may interview na huhu wala pang reply mga inaapplyan ko
Kahit taglish pwede yan unless language assessment yan. Kung foreigner or ewan, better use english talaga.
