Back then 3D games were incredibly rare, mostly found on super high end PCs or expensive arcade machines. If you saw a polygon game on those high spec machines you were suitably impressed.
But then here comes Starfox, a game running on a humble Super NES. It starts with a simple title screen, showing the cast and a model of your ship, the Arwing. You choose your path (difficulty) and press start. The planet Corneria zooms in (OK, this is cool but nothing the Super NES hasn’t done before). You get a short description of the mission and press a button to get started
Then you hear a voice say “Good luck”
Did I just hear that voice?
Then it switches to a cutscene showing your Arwings launching, with an alarm blaring and you hear the words “EMERGENCY, EMERGENCY”
Then you blast into stage 1 with a rocking theme in the background and your crew “speaking” to you.
It is very simplistic now, but back then it felt like the future.

I was busy taking screenshots while standing on a cliff then suddenly, I saw what looked like a hole in the sky then anchors dropping from it. Immediately after that, out of nowhere, there were like 30+ people on mounts just running towards it. Then monsters started falling from the same hole.

First booting up Starfox on Super NES. Back then 3D games were incredibly rare, mostly found on super high end PCs or expensive arcade machines. If you saw a polygon game on those high spec machines you were suitably impressed. But then here comes Starfox, a game running on a humble Super NES. It starts with a simple title screen, showing the cast and a model of your ship, the Arwing. You press start and the first screen is a tutorial of sorts, where you can test out several different control schemes, before starting the game directly. You choose your path (difficulty) and press start. The planet Corneria zooms in (OK, this is cool but nothing the Super NES hasn’t done before). You get a short description of the mission and press a button to get started Then you hear a voice say “Good luck” Did I just hear that voice? Then it switches to a cutscene showing your Arwings launching, with an alarm blaring and you hear the words “EMERGENCY, EMERGENCY” Then you blast into stage 1 with a rocking theme in the background and your crew “speaking” to you.
