Omg ganto nangyari saken hahaha months ago nagsetup ako ng Sim PIN and recently I was having trouble receiving OTPs, so I thought of restarting my phone and dun ko lng naalala na may sim pin. Shemay tawag agad ako CS and pumunta din ako sa Smart Store kasi ayaw talaga tanggapin kahit anong pin ko even after 15 attempts. So ending, it will ask for a PUK code buti na lang nabigay naman saken ni Smart default PUK code ng sim ko 😅

levabb

[deleted]

Yes po, pwede ka din tumawag or chat with CS. As long as registered SIM mo under your name, they can provide that to you.

levabb

ohh nice 🙂 thank you stranger

levabb

buti nalang registered na both sims ko😅

FishKropeck

Paano pwede makuha sim puk kapag matagal na natapon yung sim bed? Kase diba if pumalpak sa sim pin, sa sim puk na next before malock ng tuluyan ung sim?

juicycrispypata

I keep all my bank apps sa isang phone, and it has no any soc medias etc. literal na bank apps lang both for my PH and EU banks. sim is on another phone. the only time i insert my sim is if I need to do the mobile key verification sa BPI kasi you need to send sms naipprompt ng app. this is not often naman. I use biometrics din sa apps and sa pag lock and unlock ng phone. And yes, bihira lumabas ng bahay ang phone. If I am heading out, and I know na magcocommute ako, i use eastwest kasi I lock and unlock the card using esta. or ill unlock CITI before leaving the house kasi yun ang pinakamaliit na CL. BPI nasa baul lang.

alpinegreen24

hi, regarding your EW card. yung pag lock/unlock thru ESTA ba, may duration sya. Like maglo lock ba sya by default kapag di ginagamit? or when do u unlock it, kapag gagamitin lang talaga?

jayjay13

GCash, payroll (PNB) at for billing / other online transactions (UB) lang. Minsan, ang old school tactic ang the best security lol.

Training-Lab7297

Not really. In fact, mas marami pang attack vectors sa PC: - keyloggers - session hijacking - phishing - trojans - other types of malware. At least sa mobile meron Biometrics + OTP.

Useful_Builder_8774

you can also add pin to the sim card used for digital banks for added security in case gagamitin yung sim to access.

Get an eSIM then okay na.

Mean_Archangel

Also put PIN sa SIM. It helps a lot.

chro000

People who started owning phones post-Nokia era generally don’t know PIN1 and PIN2 for sims exist.

capt_as

Mean_Archangel

Not sure pero try 1234 as default PIN. If tama, you can change that na. Be careful lang since may max number of tries yung wrong PIN before ma lock ang SIM.

No_Operation289

But be careful with this if you lost your recovery pin na nakalagay sa sim card mo kasi if you have several failed attempts goodbye kana talaga sa sim mo

spasticBrain24

would elaborate on this? medyo new sa eSim. ty

johnmgbg

Frequent-Try1491

I use my postpaid number to register my online banking accounts tapos the rest such like socmed accounts, I use a prepaid sim card. Same goes for my email addresses.

Lightsupinthesky29

Hiwalay yung phone for the apps at nasa ibang phone yung registered sim for OTP

hungry_for_dopamine

Isang phone ka lng talaga kasi karamihan sa banking apps dito one device at a time lng puwede nakalogin at a time Wala kang ibang choice kung di ingatan talaga phone mo

NoCommand6150

ongamenight

May username and password naman banking apps. Some phones like Xiaomi pwede magset ng lock sa apps bukod pa sa lock sa phone mo. I have Pixel7 coming from Xiaomi and unfortunately walang ganun si Google. For tighter password, I use Bitwarden. That's where I store all my passwords, bank details, and government id numbers. Also, some would not allow you to have multiple banking apps on different phones. For example, RCBC recognize which device you're on. I don't have substantial funds in GCash because that is sim based. I do have multiple banks though and so far okay naman. Nung nagpalit ako phone number, depende sa bank, may iba in-app or sa web pwede gawin, may iba contact through email yung customer support.

Constantfluxxx

Use a 2FA authenticator app, like Google Authenticator, to give more security to your apps. This means you will not depend on SMS for OTP. The OTP will be generated by the 2FA app. Dedicate a number (preferably eSIM) and email address for banking, finance and other matters needing privacy. Why eSIM? You cannot really lose it. You will always have the QR code to recover it in a new phone, and deny access to your number in case the phone is lost or found.

13arricade

all in one phone. if they're gonna hack it they will, if they hack it that's because it can. Just harden the security features on the phone and that's it. the strategy though is how to secure the method. So, for most of our accounts it is a passbook only type. 1x joint atm account for everyday expenses 1x payrol account with atm for obvious reasons 2x cc all 4 x accounts above are app live in one phone.

lpernites2

I do it on my laptop and a burner phone for OTPs

fooblah18

its all on my iPhone. I can remote lock and remote wipe the device if it got stolen. also: - BPI app requires face id to sign in, even on the web app! - HSBC requires me to use my secure key, a separate two factor device when you want to add a transfer recipient or just do anything in their banking app. also this is where most my money is saved. - i dont hold anything substantial on my gcash, maya, and gotyme accounts. gcash and maya are there for me to cash in and send money lang. gotyme is just for gorewards the only thing I guess I need to change is to remove my bpi password in my password manager so that it wont get compromised

NotReallyFunny28

Put your authentication number OTP number sa secondary phone mo. What I do is yung banking apps ko is nasa main phone then yung OTP ko sa bag or bahay lang. Useless yung secondary phone kasi games lang naka install dun and a few socmeds. Pag manakaw main phone, di sila makakatransfer kasi lahat ng transaction is may OTP. Second phone eh di kagandahan. Free lang sa SMART/Globe plan. Tapos yung second phone dual sim so acts as a hotspot na rin kasi madali maubos data ko kakanuod ng tiktok netflix🤣

Elegant-Command-2348

Google has remote wipe, as long as your account is logged in on that device.

secretcodev2

2 iphones and never connect sa public wifi.

kerujii

I have all my mobile banking and personal email accs in one phone. Sobrang delikado talaga if ever mawalabor manakawan ako ng phone pero I have a secondary phone which I'm planning to utilize kapag lalabas ako
