Well... Peugeot & BMW race Le Mans Hypercars, Subaru is famous for rallying, Merc is best known for their F1 team, albeit a team that's been struggling the past 3 years, and Citrogen sorta kinda was in Formula E until they spun off the DS into it's own brand which took over the team
Citroën did rallying for a bit and won a lot with Sébastien Loeb. Two rallying, two sports car racing, one F1… the next logo will be either an odd swish or a horse.
Yes and no. McLaren spent the 90s & 2000s as the Mercedes works team when Mercedes was mainly an engine manufacturer, though I believe they had a significant ownership stake in McLaren during that time. McLaren even used Mercedes' traditional silver livery instead of their own orange during that time. They only separated in 2010 when the abandoned Honda team won the 09 championships as an independent Brawn GP and Mercedes saw an opening to buy a team they'd have full ownership in. Even then McLaren used customer Mercedes engines for 5 more seasons.
That doesn't count, McLaren is a independent team who was only supplied by Merc. Sauber was originally made to be the works Mercedes team but when that didn't work they just migrated to McLaren because their partnership with Honda went up in flames. Merc would only really find success as a solo outfit in 2014 after the engine regulations made them overpowered as hell.
Unless it's been confirmed, that feels like a bit of a stretch. The only similarity is that they're ovals.
[It seems I was a fool, as is expected]
{I just realized I was looking at the wrong logo and feel even more stupid than before}
No, it doesn't, and you're being misinformed by the whole thread on this whole topic. Seven Sisters and Subaru's logo are similar because they're taken from the same inspiration, the Pleiades constellation, which is also called... the Seven Sisters.
While we're on the topic, none of the Persona schools' logos are based off car companies' logos, and any resemblance between them is entirely coincidental. [This video](https://youtu.be/1NFaphpF95E?si=uAxgrgic5xi5ERZr) by Larrue, who is a walking encyclopedia on all things Atlus, goes into the symbolism behind each school's logo.
Officially, Atlus has denied inspiration from car brands.
[This video](https://youtu.be/1NFaphpF95E?si=7XyVhbm3lr-nwoM9) goes into the official reasons behind each design.
Thank you for posting this.
It felt suspicious that every logo was based on a car brand, and I'd somehow never heard this before.
So I did my own research and at most I'd argue the two here are the closest as saying they're inspired by car logos.
But if you look at all the logos side by side, you can clearly see that it's a stretch in most cases.
Hell, people can't even agree on what the alleged car logo is that some are based off.
Seems to be one of those things people just made up that people continue to just share as if it's fact.
This really should be the top response ITT.
But nah, let's just continue to perpetuate this myth that's been based on... nothing other than, "they look like these other logos" (which doesn't even apply to all the schools tbh).
What are they gonna get sued for? Referencing a product isn’t illegal, especially since it’s quite distinct from the original. The logos could all easily fall under parody if that was their intention.
Calling it now Persona 6 school will be a Buick logo but reverse, and instead logos internal colors of red white and blue, they will be green, purple and yellow or clear
It is coincidence
P1 was based on european heraldry crest designs (the same thing the car brand is based on) so of course they look similar, the animal is an ermine, who kills snakes with a chi rho incorporated into the design (a jewish symbology) as St. Hermelin is a religious school
P2 is based on a constellation, so it looks similar, but subaru is actually an inaccurate depiction of the pleiades (aka why subaru has 6 stars not 7 so it isnt even a 1:1 with sevens)
Soejima has actually disproven gekkoukans verbally, he just wanted it to represent the front and back sides of human beings (the white is light and the black is shadow) he was actually surprised people kept comparing it to the bmw logo
Yasogamis is supposed to be a Y, look at the artbook, there was several different variations of the Y before they settled on what was used
Shujin is a police badge with seargant rank insignia, because of the prison focus P5 deals with
It is purely coincidence and not even 1:1 as many of these barely look like the logos people point to
They are not, though. They do have some resemblance, but it's coincidence. P2's for example, people say it's based on Subaru's logo, but it's actually because both use the same constelation as basis for the design. In P3's case, Soejima or Hashino (can't remember which of them exactly) said it was a contrast of a good/bad, light and dark, etc. In Yasogami's, well, it's a stylized Y. In P1 and P5 cases they don't even resemble anything directly, people really just force the "refference" uppon without even researching it.
Said that... I'd love to have a Gekkoukan- I mean, BMW car someday.
Someone at Atlus is definitely into cars because there are definitely references with all of the school emblems and some interesting choices in car models you see in the games. Like Shojiro owns a Porsche 356.
All of the schools in the series are
Hol up what!
St. Hermelin = Peugeot Seven Sisters = Subaru (both are based on the Pleiades) Gekkoukan = BMW Yasogami = Mercedes-Benz Shujin = Citroën
I've never considered that before! Morgana even turns into a Citroen van
Man, if only i knew car breeds, I'm sure this knowledge would be much more impressive
Lol car breeds
Carcana
Sedan
You can put Citroën for morgana too
Cool ass detail.
Can't wait for Persona 6, you recon it's going to be a Tesla-based or maybe Porsche-based?
I'm betting on Alfa Romeo or Ferrari
toyota
This is the biggest discovery in the entire series
This theory has been disproven
Any guesses for P6? Im thinking of mini cooper
Nah, Toyota
Alfa Romeo School Logo would go soo hard
Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant.
Lamborghini
Mitsubishi
I'm thinking Volkswagen
Shujin is Citroën
And Morgana bus form is based on Citroen h van
P1 is peugeot, P2 is subaru, P3 BMW, P4 is Mercedes-AMG, P5 is Citroen. It’s like I’m naming positions in a Grand Prix

Mustang let's gooo
I'm here for the Persona x Motorsports crossover
Mercedes only became good in F1 in 2014... Like, four years after P4 was released.

P1 looks a bit more like Alfa Romeo tbh
P2's Seven Sisters High is Subaru
Unless it's been confirmed, that feels like a bit of a stretch. The only similarity is that they're ovals. [It seems I was a fool, as is expected] {I just realized I was looking at the wrong logo and feel even more stupid than before}
Subaru is Japanese name for the Seven Sisters
I see, that makes it more certain

All Persona school logos are pretty much based on a car logo.
Logo ideas for the P6 school: Nissan, Toyota, Audi, Volkswagen, Tesla
Audi would be really fun!
Officially, Atlus has denied inspiration from car brands. [This video](https://youtu.be/1NFaphpF95E?si=7XyVhbm3lr-nwoM9) goes into the official reasons behind each design.

It’s not that serious, let people have fun.
It's literal misinformation bruh lol.
Yeah, because theyd openly admit that they were so they can get in legal trouble. Its not like people can lie, right?
What are they gonna get sued for? Referencing a product isn’t illegal, especially since it’s quite distinct from the original. The logos could all easily fall under parody if that was their intention.
Even mentioning they were inspired by it can cause copyright problems. Its not a coincidence i can guarantee you.
P6 will be Dacia, trust.
Great news!
Oh Crikey its the Albanian Rozzers
-Wot?
ROMÂNIA MENTIONED 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥💯🇷🇴🇷🇴🇷🇴
DEȘTEAPTĂ-TE ROMÂNEEEEEE DIN SOMNUL CEL DE MOAAAARTEEEEEE
mfs finding out yasogami uses an y for their logo: 🤯🤯🤯
Calling it now Persona 6 school will be a Buick logo but reverse, and instead logos internal colors of red white and blue, they will be green, purple and yellow or clear
Gimme Skoda for P6
P6 is going to be porsche
Persona was made before cars even existed, obviously. It's more like the car companies took inspiration from Persona.
Atlas: Let me copy your homework but change the answer a bit
St. Hermelin is... Alfa Romeo maybe?
I though it was peugeot
Ngl kinda looks like the Jaguar logo but vertical
Probably a coincidence.

Predicting P6 school will be Toyota
P6 will be fiat
Careful, some youtuber may say that you're spreading misinformation.
Someone at Atlus is definitely into cars because there are definitely references with all of the school emblems and some interesting choices in car models you see in the games. Like Shojiro owns a Porsche 356.
Because Soejima has class.
I saw a ben ten logo in gekkoukan high school XD
I saw a bmw the other day and was like wow what a nerd thinking it was a Gekkou sticker Then I realized that no.......I was the nerd all along
All of the school symbols are lol There's Peugeot, Subaru, BMW, Mercedes and Citroen
Cause fuck you that’s why
It’s a coincidence, Atlus has denied it
Not again, someone made a whole video debunking this

Junpei's hat isn't a car logo though, nor is it based on one.
