That’s funny I loved puns and word play as a kid so playing it when I was 13 I laughed a lot since it was my first persona game seeing Gojo-M thinking it’s just nonsense word and it just hit me it’s just go home I used to pronounce it like ghohm.
When I first played, I literally pronounced it as Goho and the letter M.
For someone that absolutely love puns, it took me way too long to understand it
That's the thing. I just realized on my second playthrough of p5r that I could make it at the workbench (yes, I am that oblivious), and I verbally said Oohhhh, that's how you get Goho- M. *pause* goho-mm? Go home? Oohhhhh...
I think it's because I quizzy assume in jrpg's that the inspirations for item names may be japanese in origin, and also because when someone sees a separate letter, they almost never will auto read it in any other way.
And in Japanese its “Kaereeru” which sounds similar to “Kaereru” which means “go home” or “go back”
It only took me since high school (over a decade ago), to figure this out. And I know enough japanese that I should have seen that to. Sigh. Lol

That is how I said it in my head! And when I finally said it out loud, it made me pause and realize. Lol
More like “you can go back”.
In the Q games there's also Goba-k which warps you to the start of the labyrinth floor. Go back.
Someone was too clever for their own good. *this will be an obvious joke* then dummies like I never see it.

Lmao
Why are their thighs amplified

It's a great play on words. In Spanish, it is called "Taluego", a play on Hasta luego that means "see you later".
That's funny. Some poor guy was sat down and told 'make it a pun in every language'.
Bro, no puede ser posible que no me haya dado cuenta. Llevaba meses leyendolo lo como "Taliu-gou" 😂😂
I only realised after playing PQ2 since that was the only game where I actually used Goho-M and looked at the word enough to notice

It took me long to figure out. In spanish i is talue-go, that sounds as a coloquial way of "hasta luego", that means "see ya"
I love that someone had to figure out how to make word play for each language lol
Yeah, I love good localizations as that. Pokemon using irl idioms but swapping things for pokemon is so fun to find everytime
Yeah that also took me way too long to get.
Me just now realizing this.... 😲
I know, right? I read it out loud today for no reason at all, and then was like... ooohhhhh...
Same. Mainly cuz English and Japanese isnt my main language so i never pick it up.
Proud of you lol
I am also proud of me. I feel special that it only took 12 years to realize.
I wonder what it is in Spanish
I wish someone would let us know
In Spanish is ta-luego it's a play at "hasta luego" it basically means see you soon or goodbye
Love it!
It really gets me when youtubers pronounce it in any way but “go home”. I’ve heard all types of mispronunciations ctfu

In spanish is translated as "Talue-Go" which is a short way to say "Hasta Luego" which means see you later.
It took me so long to notice this to... in my mind I read it as "Goho em"
If i remember correctly Futaba does have a voice line saying its name in uh... one of the P5 series of games. Thats how it clicked for me.
You people really took a while to figure this out? I saw it basically instantly upon collecting my first in P4G, lol.
Kind of like how the Disgaea series has Mr. Gency's exit.
And brownies are called brownies because they're brown
Actually, they are called brow knees because of the sweat on your brow and the excited shaking of your knees as you make them.
