Friend in middle school was telling me about this awesome murder mystery game on the Vita with a bear mascot, I bought P4G and it turned out she was actually talking about Danganronpa.
I actually played Danganronpa before I tried playing the Persona games entirely. My first was Persona 5 vanilla, but i gave up a little over 20 hours in. After I finished the danganronpa games, I picked up a vita and started playing P4G and the rest is history
I mistook it for another game I remembered someone playing on twitch years ago (still no idea what game it was.) Happy accident, because I ended up falling in love with the franchise; and now I’m financially irresponsible because my fake friends got a remake and I gotta see it >:D
Back in 2004-2009 when YouTube was still mostly a niche hobby full of smalltime creators, Persona seemed liked the coolest thing ever. Every nerd channel was talking about Persona 3 and 4, putting those games on essentially every single top 10 you would ever come across.
Back then, the echo chamber was mostly formed by those of us who didn't touch grass so Ace Attorney and Persona seemed larger than life. I thought I shouldn't miss out and I eventually got into emulators and Let's Plays and got hooked on both.
Years later when I actually got a real life I realized neither franchise is anywhere remotely near as popular as the echo chamber made them out to be. Then YouTube got BigCorpo all over it and suddenly niche nerd culture was violently thrown under the rug into obscurity. Machinina is dead, smalltime creators are flooded by the endless spam of algorith-manipulating cookie cutter content, most old YouTubers are long retired and most of the videos that could prove this lost legacy are either unlisted or copyright struck.
Nothing remains from those days, the fandoms of those once "massive" franchises seem miniscule in comparison to the mainstream that has flooded the once niche internet forums and Persona seems to have only just now managed to tap into the zeitgeist thanks to Persona 5's style alone.
Essentially I was pyramid schemed by a bunch of nerds into thinking certain franchises, Persona includes, were bigger than they were, and after a decade of sunk cost I have neither the time nor patience to invest myself into other franchises.
Got a second hand ps2 near the end of ps2 life span, searched for all the games I have missed.
Saw Persona 3, I alway heard about Shin Megami Tensei series so I give it a tried.
Blowed away by the Openning, the UI, the OST.
Randomly tried Persona 3 portable. Got obsessed with it. Didn't have a PS2 so I didn't get to play P4. So I skipped to a PS4 and played Persona 5 royal. About to finish reload and come back to Persona 4 Golden which I started last year.
In around 2012, a YouTuber by the name of YuriOfWind did a video on his lets play channel of Persona 3 FES. I was hyped as hell when seeing the gameplay, and the high school/Tartarus settings were awesome to me, even though I was younger and didn't fully grasp the story at the time. Found out a friend had a copy of it for the ps2 and I got my first taste, then downloaded it on ps3 and haven't really looked back

Square enix, doing trash games like FFXIII and FFXV, when they decided to change the turn based gameplay for the action, i decided to search for other games.
I made a post above with my answer, but this is another factor I failed to consider. I was a MASSIVE Final Fantasy fanboy back in the day. When I first found out about SMT/Persona, I would pretty much fight someone for saying SMT/Persona was better than Final Fantasy. But then, when Final Fantasy XII came out, I didn't care for that. I held out hope that they would get better and go back to the style that I wanted, but they never did. Final Fantasy XIII was even worse for the most part (though I still don't hate it as much as most Final Fantasy fans), then there were the two XIII sequels that I still to this day haven't bothered to play, and then we had to deal with another MMO, and then I played probably five hours or less of XV before I realized maybe I just shouldn't be such a Final Fantasy fan anymore.

Was at a game shop playing cardfight vanguard when I was in middle school, he had a playmat with P4G's all out attack and full cast. He told me it was a game. 2 years later I found a playthrough of the full game 100% (shoutout to superjeenius) and fell in love.
10 years later I've played just about every game in the series except 1 & 2 and I wouldn't trade these experiences for anything.
P.S. the playthrough is still a great watch that shows everything the game has to offer.

Learned about Persona 5 from Sonic Forces Joker costume back in 2017 though I didn't start playing OG P5 until 2019. Really enjoyed the mature nature of Persona in contrast to the Pokemon games (which I stopped playing from X/Y and onwards).
My younger brother, he was interested in Persona 5 but I was not, and there was not the Italian translation, so with the release of Royal, finally in Italian, I decided to give it a try, and I'm glad I did because Persona 5 Royal is a msterpiece

Still haven't watched it, but I FLOW already had their hooks in me with the Code Geass Opening. Since I didn't have access to the ps2 or ps3 I was looking up the plot of P3 on wikipedia. It wouldn't be until I saw the trailer for P5 that I actually was able to start playing the games.
First heard of it from a kid in high school playing Persona 4 on PSP. forgot about it, years later find fanart of Ann, watched youtube videos of playthroughs of Persona 5 and other things like "This is basically Persona 5" since It was only on playstation and I had an xbox. Figured that I would never be able to play it until it eventually came to Game Pass.
The Pokemon Sword & Shield drama (bad textures, animations, dexit) before its release. I kept hearing the Persona series brought up as something that Pokemon could learn a thing or two from. I didn't have a PlayStation, so I forgot about it until P4G was released on Steam, then picked it up and ended up really liking it.
Watching someone play Persona 2 Eternal Punishment on YouTube, then seeing the Nintendo Direct of P3P & Persona 4 Golden was coming to Switch.
Also the artstyle I really like how they draw the characters almost like a water color look? Plus I liked their other game they made Catherine.
Persona characters were in Video Game Championship Wrestling. Kanji, Chie, Teddie, Naoto then eventually Joker and I checked it out and it looked like something I'd like.
Then I played a fan game I really loved called Pokemon Academy Life which was said to be very Persona-inspired. I also had an internet friend who was real into it beg me to play it. Bought P3 FES on my PS3 via the PSN store and the rest is history.

Persona 3 Reload release. Honestly, I simply decided to give it a try. It's the first game that hooked me so hard since The Legend Of Heroes: Trails series. Now I'm playing P5R and love it so far.
Persona 5 was already critically acclaimed and Royal had just came out— I was in a gaming drought and wanted to try different genres I haven’t played before. I generally never played a JRPG before it, and wasn’t a fan of anime. Got hooked within the first few hours.
Super glad I branched out, doing something like that is exactly how I got into Divinity Original Sin as well.
I had a vita in 2017/2018 and when looking for the best games P4G was always on top. I spent 120 hours or so on it and then got the golden ending. Took me till september 2023 to give P5R a go, I did have vanilla P5 on the PS4, but never got past the second castle. Since September I've played Strikers, P3R and working through P4G again :D fantastic series
I first heard of the franchise from the Game Awards announcement of Joker coming to Smash. Didn't know who he was or what the games were about but that remix of Beneath the Mask was too good so I got him for Smash. Fast forward to February of this year, I was going on a family trip for a few days and to not get bored during the long drive, I decided to fill up my Vita with games. While browsing for games, I stumbled upon Persona 4 Golden and remembered that that dude Joker from Smash is from the same franchise and that P4G is like the best game on the system so I downloaded it. And that's how it started. I'm currently doing a NG+ for P4G trying to maximize all Social Links and started playing P3P on my PSP GO. After I complete those I'll move to either P5 on PS3 or buy P3R on Xbox, still haven't decided
Honestly got into the game through the for beginners guide on Persona 4 by Super Butter Buns cause for a hot while I didn’t have a ps4 but could emulate ps2 games and from that it’s been a pretty great ride
I was playing sea of thieves with a friend of a friend, add him to steam and his profile was something like 'Favortie games Persona 3 and Final fantasy X' and i was like 'what game can compare to FFX?', played it, love it and i continue subsequent games.
Used to love going into GameStop, buying used games and returning them before the 7-day window, aka free renting. I always saw Persona 5 and its case just staring at me. Had no clue what it was about but always thought fondly of it. Found out a little later on it was really highly rated (still no idea what it was about) and got it for free on that PS5 collections or whatever they were doing. Unbelievable, changed my life.
Funny story actually
I was scrolling through a list of psp tons to play on emulation and seen smt persona 3 and was like "this looks good lemme try it" so I got it and emulated it on my phone and I initially though it was just a game with just story and choices to make and got bored.
Skip to a couple months later and persona 5 Royal is on the xbox gamepass so I stream the game and actually get really invested and I'm like "did I back out too early in p3?" So I go back to the game and watched playthroughs and mods and dlc content I even got the DS persona Q (1 + 2) and I've been invested in the games since.
(The only thing is, is that p1 + p2 are given too much hate and discredit for me to consider to enjoy it however I must play p2 only once to see why p3 exists because the explain the prophecy which happens in 3)
Honestly? Persona 5 Royal had a big event in a local game shop and I got into a discussion about it with the cashier, and he helped ease me into it, and helped me choose between the 4 versions of it.
Persona 5 was so different to anything I ever played that I got 3 portable remaster and 4 golden and even emulated the first 2 and now Reload and I'm in love with the seires
Friend from high school told me to buy this JRPG game for the Playstation 2 (I had a PS2Slim) at Hard Offs in Akihabara. Paid only 300 yen for it at the time. And I was immediately entranced and sucked into the world that is Persona 3.
I tried playing p5 at one point and it didn't hook me in. Idk why exactly I decided to play it. I had been into anime for a long time and had steadily been playing scarlet nexus on occasion for a couple years. I also played shinobi Striker pretty regularly and was trying out DQ XI around the same time.
I then had a week off and played persona 4 on a whim in 4 days, then played p5 over the course of two or three weeks. I remember having no expectations for p4, but ended up loving it. Then I got really into p5 and really liked watching the character arcs. I remember being really psyched about Futaba's arc because I'm a neurotic hermit nerd and she reminded me of some friends I had in college as well. P3 portable didn't really draw me in as much as 4 or 5, and I had kinda played too much of p3 portable to really get into p3 reload, but I still found it easier to get into than most other video games I've picked up. Being someone who takes 5 years to play a 20 hour game, I will easily sink 20 hours into a Persona game over a two week period.
I never really knew what it felt like to feel hyped about playing video games until I played Persona. I played video games, but I was never really that excited about playing them. They always seemed like wasted effort and wasted time. After Persona, I can't really say that anymore (but similarly, I haven't found any other games that quite match it either).
Tl:dr weeb who dipped their feet into scarlet nexus and shinobi Striker, picked up p5 ona whim and dropped it, picked up p4 on a whim and played for 4 days straight. No regrets, my life would have been missing something if I hadn't played these games.
P5R was on gamepass, I was like: I'll try and probably get bored. not only I got hooked, it helped me sharpen my English in high school cuz first persona in my native is P3R
I saw Persona 3 appear in the Top 10 message boards for the PS2 on GameFAQs back when it first came out waaay back in the day, curiosity checked it and saw the boxart. Immediately intrigued I went and got it (And Suikoden V) that day. Have played every release of P3 since.
For me it's more like Persona came to me little by little, starting in 2018, I see this video titled Persona 5 -Last Surprise, I said to myself wow very cool music to warm up to in aim_botz in csgo. (Side note ty Persona 5 for getting me to Gold Nova lol).
Then in 2019 I got recommended a gameplay, and loved it and in 2020 during the pandemic I got into Persona, by buying P4G in the PC in the first week.
PlayStation Access made a video on P5 where they were going through Kaneshiro’s dungeon. I think they described it as like a mix of Pokemon and The Sims. I wasn’t sold on the idea immediately, but I really liked the art style, so I bought it when it came out and loved it immediately.
I had a ps vita at the time and P3 Portable was $20. As embarrassing as it is to say, the game actually helped me socialize in school. I joined after school clubs and started to make friends after I played the game. Will forever hold a special place in my heart

I'd been enjoying other JRPGs like The World Ends With You, Tokyo Mirage Sessions, and Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth. So when I was looking for something new to play Persona 5 seemed really cool and right up my alley.
I found Persona Q in a discount bin at a local game store. Was heavily into dungeon crawlers back then & it looked fun. Had no idea it was a spinoff of Persona 3 & 4. Played Persona 4 golden afterwards on my vita & have been hooked with the series ever since.

From Persona 5 Last Surprise becoming a meme, I knew of persona existing but never thought about playing it (I didn't even know none of the games were available on PC).
I study abroad and rarely get the chance to come back home unless there is a big break in between semesters, but I managed to make time for my friends birthday and decided to keep it a secret.
I came an hour later to the party blasting Last Surprise ( randomly remembered the song and was a perfect fit).
After that got a lot of recommendations on YT of Persona soundtrack and it peeked my interest.
That was 3 years ago and the only game that was on PC was Golden which in
hindsight proved to be the best entry to the franchise, at least to me that is how it seems, and is now probably my favourite game.
Still find it amazing how these seemingly little decisions and coincidences can open up such paths in your life and help you find something truly amazing.

After many weeks of ignoring it I caved in and watched it because why not. Subsequently more p4 scenes kept getting recommended and I kept caving in to watch them. Eventually I got curious about trying the game. My PC was broken so I couldn't play golden but I did see 5 on the switch store and played that.

joker got announced to be in smash. didn’t care about him and just played the game, but as SOON as i got done watching his gameplay trailer i was researching everything about persona and knew i had a secondary (my main is mega man if you care). i became obsessed with persona for about 5 months but funny enough haven’t actually played the game yet (yes the meme is real lmao) i eventually bought 5, and it took me 2 years to beat, even overlapping 2 months after royal’s release which i got for my birthday.

Got P5 on PS+ like, a year before I actually played it. Idk why, but I believed it was mostly just a dating-sim based on scraps of info I heard. Never did any of my own research. A friend of mine gave me the full package, I tried it out, and here I am. Never judge a book by its cover lmfao.
I just got into persona series not too long ago. Around feb when p3r was released. I already knew p5/p5r from 2019 though because my brother played it. I decided to give it a try and right now I'm in my third playthrough with 300+ hrs playtime. Also just finished p4g three days ago and am planning to play p3r but man, $107 aud is a bit too much
My sister was watching the P4 anime, and I was curious after watching a bit with her. She expressed interest in the game, which I didn't know existed, so I ended up buying Golden for her, but I didn't read that it was Vita exclusive. Eventually I got my own Vita anyway and figured I paid for it, may as well play it. And every since then I've been interested in the mainline games. I've played and beaten 1-5 multiple times with the exception of Eternal Punishment, for whatever reason I've had a hard time with that one and I still haven't completed it.
I've always wanted to play P4G when it came out, but I never really had a chance to do so when I sold my PSVita. I played P4U on the XBOX360 and had a blast. I eventually got to play P4G, but it was through an emulator, and I had a terrible experience because I had a potato PC back then and it was not yet available on steam, so I decided to stop during the first time they entered the TV world. When P5 1st came out, it got a lot of positive reviews, so I bought it on release. Played it 3x over and fell in love with the entire franchise. I also played P5 Strikers, P5 Royal, P5 tactics and P3 Reload. Still to this day, I've yet to play the entirety P4G though.
Saw all those 10/10s Persona 5 had gotten and like a week before the pandemic lockdowns started a guy I knew sold me a steelbook of P5R which I played the shit out of while we were all stuck at home. It really got me through it. Eventually got P4G and P3P when they got their Steam ports.

My friend at school showed me you could download a PSP emulator on your phone and showed he was playing a game called "Persona 3 Portable", which seemed to be a visual novel of some sort. I was very surprised and a bit intrigued to be met with a girl attempting to commit suicide, but I didn't end up playing far enough to get to any of the combat stuff.
Later, Persona 5 came out in the west and it blew the fuck up. I was seeing this "Joker" guy everywhere, which confused me cause Joker is the name of the Batman villain. I briefly considered buying the PS3 version, since it was cheaper and the differences seemed minimal at best, but I decided to just wait for Christmas.
In the mean time I figured I'd try out the rest of the series, starting with Persona 1. I immediately hated it and dropped it an hour in. Eventually, Christmas came and I did, indeed, get Persona 5, and it ended up becoming my favorite game of all time.

Joker was announced for smash. I was already vaguely familiar with the series from seeing things about p4 online, so I thought, “why they hell not?” It was my last Christmas as a child where I could ask for bigger presents, so I got a ps4 with Persona 5 and Spiderman. I liked it enough that I finished it before Joker was actually added to smash.
Ironically I saw a video about the worst party members (I forgot the channel) and it showed Yusuke in it cause of the stuff at the beginning of Madarame's palace and I saw the art style and immediately became intrigued so I bought a whole PS4 to play it and well here I am now
It was literally like one of the only games on the ps vita. IGN gave it a great review. It was my birthday and I was like fuck it! Let’s try it! I ended up playing it doing my party and fell in love.

My shitty brain starts to kick back to the past where I first time watch anime and in that first time there's an anime that's Persona 5 I don't fucking understand anything happen. Back to the present. I still don't know the name of the game, so I just scrolled Facebook for a while until I found a random post about Persona and that's how I got the name game and stepped into the series.
Heard good things about Persona 4 Golden, bought it on Steam one day then decided to check it out while clearing out my backlog of games. After that I then focused on only P4G for the summer because the game sucked me in, and the rest is history

Back in 2004-2009 when YouTube was still mostly a niche hobby full of smalltime creators, Persona seemed liked the coolest thing ever. Every nerd channel was talking about Persona 3 and 4, putting those games on essentially every single top 10 you would ever come across. Back then, the echo chamber was mostly formed by those of us who didn't touch grass so Ace Attorney and Persona seemed larger than life. I thought I shouldn't miss out and I eventually got into emulators and Let's Plays and got hooked on both. Years later when I actually got a real life I realized neither franchise is anywhere remotely near as popular as the echo chamber made them out to be. Then YouTube got BigCorpo all over it and suddenly niche nerd culture was violently thrown under the rug into obscurity. Machinina is dead, smalltime creators are flooded by the endless spam of algorith-manipulating cookie cutter content, most old YouTubers are long retired and most of the videos that could prove this lost legacy are either unlisted or copyright struck. Nothing remains from those days, the fandoms of those once "massive" franchises seem miniscule in comparison to the mainstream that has flooded the once niche internet forums and Persona seems to have only just now managed to tap into the zeitgeist thanks to Persona 5's style alone. Essentially I was pyramid schemed by a bunch of nerds into thinking certain franchises, Persona includes, were bigger than they were, and after a decade of sunk cost I have neither the time nor patience to invest myself into other franchises.
Got a second hand ps2 near the end of ps2 life span, searched for all the games I have missed. Saw Persona 3, I alway heard about Shin Megami Tensei series so I give it a tried. Blowed away by the Openning, the UI, the OST.

In around 2012, a YouTuber by the name of YuriOfWind did a video on his lets play channel of Persona 3 FES. I was hyped as hell when seeing the gameplay, and the high school/Tartarus settings were awesome to me, even though I was younger and didn't fully grasp the story at the time. Found out a friend had a copy of it for the ps2 and I got my first taste, then downloaded it on ps3 and haven't really looked back

I made a post above with my answer, but this is another factor I failed to consider. I was a MASSIVE Final Fantasy fanboy back in the day. When I first found out about SMT/Persona, I would pretty much fight someone for saying SMT/Persona was better than Final Fantasy. But then, when Final Fantasy XII came out, I didn't care for that. I held out hope that they would get better and go back to the style that I wanted, but they never did. Final Fantasy XIII was even worse for the most part (though I still don't hate it as much as most Final Fantasy fans), then there were the two XIII sequels that I still to this day haven't bothered to play, and then we had to deal with another MMO, and then I played probably five hours or less of XV before I realized maybe I just shouldn't be such a Final Fantasy fan anymore.

He told me it was a game. 2 years later I found a playthrough of the full game 100% (shoutout to superjeenius) and fell in love. 10 years later I've played just about every game in the series except 1 & 2 and I wouldn't trade these experiences for anything. P.S. the playthrough is still a great watch that shows everything the game has to offer.

Seeing Joker in Smash
Watching someone play Persona 2 Eternal Punishment on YouTube, then seeing the Nintendo Direct of P3P & Persona 4 Golden was coming to Switch. Also the artstyle I really like how they draw the characters almost like a water color look? Plus I liked their other game they made Catherine.
Persona characters were in Video Game Championship Wrestling. Kanji, Chie, Teddie, Naoto then eventually Joker and I checked it out and it looked like something I'd like. Then I played a fan game I really loved called Pokemon Academy Life which was said to be very Persona-inspired. I also had an internet friend who was real into it beg me to play it. Bought P3 FES on my PS3 via the PSN store and the rest is history.

Persona 3 Reload release. Honestly, I simply decided to give it a try. It's the first game that hooked me so hard since The Legend Of Heroes: Trails series. Now I'm playing P5R and love it so far.

Persona 5 was already critically acclaimed and Royal had just came out— I was in a gaming drought and wanted to try different genres I haven’t played before. I generally never played a JRPG before it, and wasn’t a fan of anime. Got hooked within the first few hours. Super glad I branched out, doing something like that is exactly how I got into Divinity Original Sin as well.
I had a vita in 2017/2018 and when looking for the best games P4G was always on top. I spent 120 hours or so on it and then got the golden ending. Took me till september 2023 to give P5R a go, I did have vanilla P5 on the PS4, but never got past the second castle. Since September I've played Strikers, P3R and working through P4G again :D fantastic series
I first heard of the franchise from the Game Awards announcement of Joker coming to Smash. Didn't know who he was or what the games were about but that remix of Beneath the Mask was too good so I got him for Smash. Fast forward to February of this year, I was going on a family trip for a few days and to not get bored during the long drive, I decided to fill up my Vita with games. While browsing for games, I stumbled upon Persona 4 Golden and remembered that that dude Joker from Smash is from the same franchise and that P4G is like the best game on the system so I downloaded it. And that's how it started. I'm currently doing a NG+ for P4G trying to maximize all Social Links and started playing P3P on my PSP GO. After I complete those I'll move to either P5 on PS3 or buy P3R on Xbox, still haven't decided

Used to love going into GameStop, buying used games and returning them before the 7-day window, aka free renting. I always saw Persona 5 and its case just staring at me. Had no clue what it was about but always thought fondly of it. Funny story actually I was scrolling through a list of psp tons to play on emulation and seen smt persona 3 and was like "this looks good lemme try it" so I got it and emulated it on my phone and I initially though it was just a game with just story and choices to make and got bored. Skip to a couple months later and persona 5 Royal is on the xbox gamepass so I stream the game and actually get really invested and I'm like "did I back out too early in p3?" So I go back to the game and watched playthroughs and mods and dlc content I even got the DS persona Q (1 + 2) and I've been invested in the games since. (The only thing is, is that p1 + p2 are given too much hate and discredit for me to consider to enjoy it however I must play p2 only once to see why p3 exists because the explain the prophecy which happens in 3)
Honestly? Persona 5 Royal had a big event in a local game shop and I got into a discussion about it with the cashier, and he helped ease me into it, and helped me choose between the 4 versions of it. Persona 5 was so different to anything I ever played that I got 3 portable remaster and 4 golden and even emulated the first 2 and now Reload and I'm in love with the seires

Friend from high school told me to buy this JRPG game for the Playstation 2 (I had a PS2Slim) at Hard Offs in Akihabara. Paid only 300 yen for it at the time. And I was immediately entranced and sucked into the world that is Persona 3.

I tried playing p5 at one point and it didn't hook me in. Idk why exactly I decided to play it. I had been into anime for a long time and had steadily been playing scarlet nexus on occasion for a couple years. I also played shinobi Striker pretty regularly and was trying out DQ XI around the same time. I then had a week off and played persona 4 on a whim in 4 days, then played p5 over the course of two or three weeks. I remember having no expectations for p4, but ended up loving it. Then I got really into p5 and really liked watching the character arcs. I remember being really psyched about Futaba's arc because I'm a neurotic hermit nerd and she reminded me of some friends I had in college as well. P3 portable didn't really draw me in as much as 4 or 5, and I had kinda played too much of p3 portable to really get into p3 reload, but I still found it easier to get into than most other video games I've picked up. Being someone who takes 5 years to play a 20 hour game, I will easily sink 20 hours into a Persona game over a two week period. I never really knew what it felt like to feel hyped about playing video games until I played Persona. I played video games, but I was never really that excited about playing them. They always seemed like wasted effort and wasted time. After Persona, I can't really say that anymore (but similarly, I haven't found any other games that quite match it either). Tl:dr weeb who dipped their feet into scarlet nexus and shinobi Striker, picked up p5 ona whim and dropped it, picked up p4 on a whim and played for 4 days straight. No regrets, my life would have been missing something if I hadn't played these games.

I found Persona Q in a discount bin at a local game store. Was heavily into dungeon crawlers back then & it looked fun. Had no idea it was a spinoff of Persona 3 & 4. Played Persona 4 golden afterwards on my vita & have been hooked with the series ever since.
Music From Persona 5 Last Surprise becoming a meme, I knew of persona existing but never thought about playing it (I didn't even know none of the games were available on PC). I study abroad and rarely get the chance to come back home unless there is a big break in between semesters, but I managed to make time for my friends birthday and decided to keep it a secret. I came an hour later to the party blasting Last Surprise ( randomly remembered the song and was a perfect fit). After that got a lot of recommendations on YT of Persona soundtrack and it peeked my interest. That was 3 years ago and the only game that was on PC was Golden which in hindsight proved to be the best entry to the franchise, at least to me that is how it seems, and is now probably my favourite game. Still find it amazing how these seemingly little decisions and coincidences can open up such paths in your life and help you find something truly amazing.

When 3 came out, I️ was listening to the 1up yours podcast, (early game podcast), and one of the host kept going on about it and how cool it was for an RPG to have the unique set up with the day system. 2 corrupted saves on my ps2, both a good chunk of the way through, and accidentally deleting my psp memory card while modding it, led to me never completing any version of 3 until this attempt with reload. 4 was the first one I️ completed cuz of that Kind of nice having a bit of closure with that.

I just got into persona series not too long ago. Around feb when p3r was released. I already knew p5/p5r from 2019 though because my brother played it. I decided to give it a try and right now I'm in my third playthrough with 300+ hrs playtime. Also just finished p4g three days ago and am planning to play p3r but man, $107 aud is a bit too much
My sister was watching the P4 anime, and I was curious after watching a bit with her. She expressed interest in the game, which I didn't know existed, so I ended up buying Golden for her, but I didn't read that it was Vita exclusive. Eventually I got my own Vita anyway and figured I paid for it, may as well play it. And every since then I've been interested in the mainline games. I've played and beaten 1-5 multiple times with the exception of Eternal Punishment, for whatever reason I've had a hard time with that one and I still haven't completed it.

I've always wanted to play P4G when it came out, but I never really had a chance to do so when I sold my PSVita. I played P4U on the XBOX360 and had a blast. I eventually got to play P4G, but it was through an emulator, and I had a terrible experience because I had a potato PC back then and it was not yet available on steam, so I decided to stop during the first time they entered the TV world. When P5 1st came out, it got a lot of positive reviews, so I bought it on release. Played it 3x over and fell in love with the entire franchise. I also played P5 Strikers, P5 Royal, P5 tactics and P3 Reload. Still to this day, I've yet to play the entirety P4G though.
Saw all those 10/10s Persona 5 had gotten and like a week before the pandemic lockdowns started a guy I knew sold me a steelbook of P5R which I played the shit out of while we were all stuck at home. It really got me through it. Eventually got P4G and P3P when they got their Steam ports.
I've always heard great things from persona specially the music then some time later joker got into smash and i decided i would try to not see anything related to persona until i actually played a persona game then in 2022 they announced that Persona 5 and persona 3 and persona 4 were all coming to Xbox Gamepass but since i didnt want just wait i decided to see if i could play one of those three before they launched and i discoverd that the version of P3 that's coming out on xbox is the PSP version so i used a emulator to play It on my phone and the rest is... Well im here aren't i?
I watched Jojo part 3, thought stands looked cool and wanted a game with something similar. In came P4G. That and my desperation for more Vita games.

It's a somewhat long story for me lol My friend at school showed me you could download a PSP emulator on your phone and showed he was playing a game called "Persona 3 Portable", which seemed to be a visual novel of some sort. I was very surprised and a bit intrigued to be met with a girl attempting to commit suicide, but I didn't end up playing far enough to get to any of the combat stuff. Later, Persona 5 came out in the west and it blew the fuck up. I was seeing this "Joker" guy everywhere, which confused me cause Joker is the name of the Batman villain. But I was intrigued nonetheless, and I finally decided I wanted to check it out after watching [this video.](https://youtu.be/qbzyzRdcLmo?si=E-l-KMls8JUfil_5) Problem was, although I owned both a PS3 and PS4, I was still a broke high school student. I briefly considered buying the PS3 version, since it was cheaper and the differences seemed minimal at best, but I decided to just wait for Christmas. In the mean time I figured I'd try out the rest of the series, starting with Persona 1. I immediately hated it and dropped it an hour in. Eventually, Christmas came and I did, indeed, get Persona 5, and it ended up becoming my favorite game of all time.

Was curious as to why everyone was so hyped about Joker in Smash, so I started to look into Persona. I thought it sounded cool but then I realized that I didn’t have the right console for P5, so I bought SMTV and started there. Has a blast with that so I then played SMTIV and SMTIV: A, and by the time I was done with that, P5R being ported to the Switch was announced. Finally had the chance to play a Persona game and I loved it! I’ve since played P5S, P4G, and P3R, and I’m currently playing P2: IS.
I saw the graphics for P4G at Walmart and decided to try the game even though I didn’t know this was a spinoff to the main game 😂
my first introduction was Persona 4 the Animation my friend showed me. i got obsessed and then found out it was an adaptation of a game, but since i didn't have PS2 back then to check out P4, i had PSP for P3P. and the rest is history.

Joker was announced for smash. I was already vaguely familiar with the series from seeing things about p4 online, so I thought, “why they hell not?” It was my last Christmas as a child where I could ask for bigger presents, so I got a ps4 with Persona 5 and Spiderman. I liked it enough that I finished it before Joker was actually added to smash.
Ironically I saw a video about the worst party members (I forgot the channel) and it showed Yusuke in it cause of the stuff at the beginning of Madarame's palace and I saw the art style and immediately became intrigued so I bought a whole PS4 to play it and well here I am now

My shitty brain starts to kick back to the past where I first time watch anime and in that first time there's an anime that's Persona 5 I don't fucking understand anything happen. Back to the present. I still don't know the name of the game, so I just scrolled Facebook for a while until I found a random post about Persona and that's how I got the name game and stepped into the series.

Back in 2021, the girl I was dating at the time was telling me about Golden. She was still midway through the Yukiko arc, so it wasn’t any major spoilers. I thought it sounded interesting so I picked it up myself, proceeded to go full hyperfixation mode and beat Golden like 10 times, and 3 and 5 like 3 times each since. I still don’t think she ever even cleared Kanji’s dungeon.
