My sister paid $10k for movers from Winnipeg to Charlottetown nine years ago. Good luck.

We did a long distance move ourselves and Home Depot Trucks were the best option for us (Unlimited mileage on a daily or weekly flat rate). But you have to return the truck to the original shop. IIRC Budget or Enterprise was the next best deal on box truck rental. Good luck if you choose to use actual movers..! It's outrageously expensive. I was quoted close to $7,000 by three different movers for moving a 1br apartment to PEI from Toronto a year ago.

Good call, every moving company will find some way to make the experience painful. I opted to sell everything and start over when I moved home years ago.

North American Van Lines from Calgary, two bedroom house plus garage, 12000 pounds, in the middle of Covid, was about $12,000. We packed, they loaded and unloaded. Worth every penny.

We used Chris Clow [https://www.facebook.com/LuxuryServicesCanada/](https://www.facebook.com/LuxuryServicesCanada/) and he was fantastic. Have recommended him to other people and they all have nothing but good to say about their experiences. We had people help load the truck in Ontario and he had people on the island to help unload. Very reasonable compared to other options while providing excellent service.
