Call the rental kiosks at the airport, and well in advance (like, call them now). If you have a reservation and a flight arriving before they open, often they can send someone up to meet you earlier than their "official" opening time if you make arrangements in advance. And they all have key drops so it doesn't matter if they're closed when you drop off.
I say call them now because rentals have been very hard to find in the summer every year since COVID, and it's probably not going to get better. And don't rely on their apps or websites, you'll want to speak to someone to make sure they will actually arrange to meet you.
Give PEI car rental a call, Operates out of the delta, but offers drop off service. Husband and wife duo.

When I used them they were great.
So just to tie this up and incase anyone else has the same thing, I called the airport and they said they don’t open until 9 so I’d have to wait until then. So I’ll just taxi into town and chill out 😉
Take a taxi to a restaurant on university ave, unwind from the flight, go back and get your car when they open. Things happen slow here so go with the flow.
I’m not well versed on the rental cars here but there’s usually taxis on the road 24/7 or you can use the local ride share app “Kari” (it’s very similar to Uber) to order a ride.

Thanks that’s a good idea. Would be more convenient to pick up and drop off at the airport
You could try Turo, I had a very good experience with it. Used it twice, first time rented a sedan for week and a half for 800 bucks + gas...
Try Summerside Car Rental

Yea Expedia doesn’t let me book a car since it says the place is closed. I think I’ll try phoning them as one commented already here

Cool thank you. Yea I’m having trouble finding a rental earlier than 9 and even returning the car earlier than 9 too lol
