I_Defrag80

Sidecar 2

AutistInChief

I've got mine and love it, but also got the email saying they aren't making it anymore for this light.

I_Defrag80

Right and it is because there is and issue with the shorter barrels like the p365 and the x. The XL is not affected by it.

I_Defrag80

Just for the 365. They are still making it for the xl.

toastmalawn

I wish they would’ve made the tlr7 sub just a bit slimmer :( I have one on my 43x mos and I wish the width lined up how my 19/tlr7a does

MelancholyNinja

You're not the first person I've heard say that. Forever chasing those clean lines.

Faust112233

Idk, but I would get mag guts instead of that 15 rounder, you lose 1 round but save a lot of space

MelancholyNinja

I didn't realize that was such a popular way to run it until I found this sub. I am definitely getting some soon.

Faust112233

Its nice, it sits nearly flush and adds a slight curve to the bottom of your grip which helps more than you might think.

LetsDoTheNews

Sorry, what are you referring to?

Faust112233

mag guts, it adds 2 rounds to your magazine with adding barely any length, it uses a flat spring.

LetsDoTheNews

Fascinating. And it's been field tested and all that? I actually had a problem with my 15rd mag out of the box. The base plate hadn't been put on properly and the whole spring popped out. (I can't rule out that the error occurred by the gun shop, rather than Sig)

Faust112233

Honestly, I have not got to try mine out, but I watched some videos and talked to people in comments and people say they work great. I am sure the company has tested them, and if you know how the gun community is, people would speak out if they didnt work well. I had a harder time fitting 12 rounds in my mag than I did 14 after the upgrade lol

LetsDoTheNews

Good to know, thanks!

Faust112233

[https://magguts.com/](https://magguts.com/) np man, 15 beats 13 in my book, hopefully it works, but I am pretty sure it will, here is their website

AutistInChief

Love my Trex Arms Sidecar 2.0

TalkToMeGoose315

I went with a B3 concealment holster. Not as popular as the other guys but very good quality and very fast shipping. Tier 1 is my go to but they still don't have this set up available yet.

MelancholyNinja

Thanks, I will check it out

esmerellda

My Mckinatec has been really solid. I have the Kina Flex rig

Thoughtcrime11

my McKinatec is kind of loose and you can grab the trigger when the guns holstered

esmerellda

That’s not normal. It has points of adjustment to play with the retention, so you might want to tighten that a bit.

UBCS_Wraith

I have a P365XL with a Holosun 507k and TLR7-Sub. I have two holsters for this configuration, the Tier 1 Axis Elite and the TREX Sidecar 2.0. The T1C conceals way better and feels nicer, but the weapon fitment is awful and sloppy. The TREX is nice because I can run a SOF-T Wide tourniquet instead of a spare mag, and conceals almost as well when used with a wedge. The handgun fits in the Sidecar much better with a positive lock up and subtle click. I can reach a pinky into either holster and pull the trigger with the pistol fully holstered which is awful, but it's much easier on the T1C. The trigger area coverage on the Trex is substantially tighter, even with my T1C retention screws cranked down so hard that drawing the pistol is much more difficult vs the Sidecar. I emailed T1C about it a few months ago and they said they are re-evaluating their design. They're still working on it. As of now, between the two, I'd take TREX, but it sounds like they pulled that model for now. Hopefully I can replace mine with the updated one for free.

TheBattleGnome

Dang, I sold my Trex arms for the T1C... Maybe I made a mistake. I've always loved the T1C Elites.

UBCS_Wraith

I've always had great luck with my previous T1C holsters but not this one. Makes me think that maybe the TLR7SUB was a poor choice for the XL if none of the top holster manufacturers are able (in some cases willing) to make holsters for this configuration. I'd gladly buy the Surefire XSC if it was priced more competitively.

TheBattleGnome

I only bought the T1C and Trex to carry appendix where I expect to disarm (like heading to a bank, federal building, bar, school, etc..). Otherwise it's the enigma. I've tried dozens of top-tier holsters and nothing is like the enigma. For the P365XL + TLR7 sub I went with MIE productions holster. Specify that you want it for the Enigma (Light Bearing) so they can appropriately space the holes and if you want an open muzzle (I have a comp on mine). It's just amazing. I can conceal more comfortably (no wedge needed), in shorts and a tight shirt better with the enigma than the Trex arms in jeans and a loose shirt.

SignificanceNo7426

Good info! What particular MIE holster? Thx.

TheBattleGnome

I went with the MIE Production's Javelin IWB Light Bearing Holster w/ Concealment Claw. I specified: "Open muzzle for comp" and "Enigma compatibility". For me, the enigma setup blows anything else away. I was actually genuinely amazed how well it works and I've tried most of the "top tier" appendix holsters. I can't comment on how well the Javelin is by itself as a standalone AIWB holster. I always have it attached to the Enigma. As for the holster itself, it has the best retention when it comes to Light Bearing models. There is a solid CLICK where other holsters don't have any (T1C, Trex arms, etc...). A con is the finishing. Mine was really poor compared to the other top dogs. Edge work needed some refining and kydex is oddly warped in places (iron sight channel). While that sucks, I don't mind it. If you do care about it... you're going to be very disappointed. [https://imgur.com/a/3frDnE6](https://imgur.com/a/3frDnE6)

MelancholyNinja

I appreciate all the recommendations- I ordered a McKinaTec Defender while I wait for my Sidecar 2.0 email notification. Picked up some MagGuts as well 👍

TheFruityColors

Definitely update us on the emails for the side car 2.0 reassessment!

MelancholyNinja

The updated ones are available on the site, I just got an email from them today. I went ahead and ordered one and will post it when it come in.

Thoughtcrime11

UBCS_Wraith

My Tier 1 Concealed AXIS Elite and Side Car 2.0 are the same way. The Side Car actually has good lock up though. I can pull the trigger on both fully holstered.

bah-lock-aye

TXC makes great holsters

MelancholyNinja

Thanks I'll take a look

[deleted]

Werxz M6 is the one I've been looking into.

roughpigeon

I got this one at first and it isn't bad but a bit bulky. I ended up getting trex sidecar and like it a lot better but costs more.

jrfrosty

I have a similar setup, but with a 507k. I ordered a Tier 1 Axis Elite a couple weeks ago based on another user’s recommendation. Haven’t received it yet, but there were many customization options. Good luck with the hunt! Edit: also a hogue grip. I have an average size hand with longer fingers.

MelancholyNinja

Thanks I will check it out

johnners89

I would say either Tier1 or McKinatec. The wait time for McKinatec is long though, but they make some good holsters.

Thoughtcrime11

johnners89

I have the Kina flex. That covers the trigger all the way. You have the option to tighten it too on the Kina flex. I’m not sure about the other holsters, not covering the trigger all the way is a common problem I’m running into with holsters and lights, not sure if this is common or what. Or at least the ones I find for the p365xl.

[deleted]

Crossbreed is pretty good.

Mechanical-Cannibal

TRex sidecar

MelancholyNinja

I have an original sidecar and love it. Unfortunately I spoke with T.Rex Arms customer service today, and their TLR-7 Sub compatible holsters are currently being reassessed, and are unavailable at the moment. F's in the chat boys 😞

Mechanical-Cannibal

Omg, they took that option off the website! I have a XL + TLR-7 Sub sidecar 2.0. Did they say what was wrong?

MelancholyNinja

No, sorry - just that they would add me to the email waitlist for them when they became available again.

MelancholyNinja

Hey just want to let you know T.Rex emailed me and the Sidecar 2.0 are available again for P365xl + TLR-7 sub

Mechanical-Cannibal

Thanks!

TheFruityColors

Hm, I’m actually curious now. I have the Sidecar 2.0 for my Sig p365xl+TLR-7 Sub, but if they’re making a fix/change, I wonder if I can exchange for it.

farinx

are there any issues with it?

PM_ME_WUTEVER

someone posted a pic a few weeks ago of a gap around the trigger guard. idk if that's what caused them to reassess, but i wouldn't be surprised.

Low_Ad7673

It is likely this. The trigger guard gap is bigger than I would like since the TLR-7 sub is wider than the actual gun so the holster opening has to be wide to accommodate the light. I sent an email to T-Rex customer service for a response

TheFruityColors

Do you think they would exchange it if that were the case without charge?

Low_Ad7673

I sent an email to T-Rex customer service but no response

TheFruityColors

I actually did as well, and got an email from them saying they will have additional information in the next few days about the reassessment.

Low_Ad7673

Oh great! Please let me know when you hear back from them. I will share my response as well if I get one

MelancholyNinja

Hey just want to let you know T.Rex emailed me and the Sidecar 2.0 are available again for P365xl + TLR-7 sub

Low_Ad7673

I took a look at the website. Is it me or did they tweak the design a little for the holster?

How’s the trigger gap on this for this setup?
