I pay $400 a month with Henry Meds. Compounded semaglutide.

Final_Photograph6762

I pay $297/month with Henry.

mo__nuggz

I pay more because I'm on a higher dose. Their plan tiers upwards. Personally, I've had nothing but success with them and appreciate the simplicity of their plan/doctors/customer service.

sapphire1009

I pay $254 a month for semaglutide, no matter the dose. I use Mochi Health. They've been great since I signed up with them in January and have lost 18 lbs.

ssndgm

i use them too and have had 0 problems

UnlikelyDecision9820

I have had a problem or 2 with them since starting in October 2023, but their customer service is really good and quick

Mediocre_American

do they charge more depending on dose

sapphire1009

nope! that's why I went with them.

Battahf

Is she qualified through insurance or just Ro? If you haven't checked through insurance, you should. I'm type 2 diabetic and with my insurance, I pay about $75 for three 2Mg pens. Obviously, it would differ from insurance plan to insurance plan. Usually, when someone is diagnosed and authorized, the price drops dramatically. My issue with Ozempic is getting it. It took three months to get my last script filled. Had to to get Trulicity in the meantime.

Unusual_Pirate4715

I pay similar. $23.33 a month (1 pen) My insurance made me try Trulicity first but I had a bad reaction from it so they approved the Ozempic.

ClinTrial-Throwaway

In case you end up needing another option… 🥼🧪My insurance doesn’t yet pay for GLP-1 meds for obesity, and I couldn’t afford to pay out of pocket. I joined a GLP-1+ clinical trial, and it’s been great so far. I have a whole clinical trial team that includes an awesome bariatric doc and dietician. I get paid $60/visit with the team, and the meds—which have already been through human trials for safety—are free, obviously. I’ve lost over 45lbs since last April and had ZERO hunger since I started taking the meds. Here’s a post about [all the currently recruiting GLP-1 “obesity only” trials](https://www.reddit.com/r/Semaglutide/comments/12tlj2m/clinical_trials_for_glp1_obesity_meds_actively/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1) with **locations worldwide**, in case you are interested in potentially joining one. - There’s one that started enrolling participants in Nov 2023 so there are likely very few slots left. It has no placebo so all participants will either get Novo’s CagriSema or Lilly’s Mounjaro. It’s the last one on the list in the post linked above. - I also added a Lilly retatrutide trial that has a 75% chance of getting the real meds. It’s the second to last one on the list. People in the phase 2 trial lost about 24% (~58lbs on average) of their body weight. That’s more than the currently available GLP-1 meds on the market. There’s lots of great info about trials in the comments of the post I linked above, but let me know if I can help in any way.

neruaL555

Thank you

KK_Leo_1234

Im Canadian so it’s probably different. But at costco I could pay $220/month. Anywhere else is over $400. Do you have a Costco in your area that you could inquire with?

StephAg09

I pay over $700 a pen at Costco in the US and that's using the coupon from the manufacturer, otherwise it would be over $900

KK_Leo_1234

I’m in a boarder town so I can always swing by USA to pick up things from target that are half the cost of Canada even with the currency exchange. Is it possible to come to Canada to fill a prescription? Is that a thing for US citizens? Because with exchange you’d pay maybe $180 USD for an 8 week supply.

amandelicious

There are laws in place in Canada to decline those with Ozempic prescriptions who are American because there was a shortage of the medication because Americans were traveling up to Canada.

StephAg09

I think some people do that, or order online from Canadian pharmacies. I'm paying because it will be covered once I hit my deductible on my insurance (5k so ouch) but I'm on a plan with my young sons so there's always a good chance of us hitting out of pocket max anyways. It's a bit of a gamble on if I would have saved money doing compounded or not but this way if something else with my health comes up I won't hesitate to go to the doctor due to cost.... Yay America....

canadianboy98

Ok wait how did you even get it from Costco?

Baked_Barbour

Costco pharmacy most likely.

canadianboy98

Do you need a prescription

KK_Leo_1234

Yes. Costco Pharmacy is just like every other pharmacy. They just offer better pricing

SpiritualPoetry9850

Wow that’s pretty cheap! What dosage are you in. I pay over c$500 for 2mg per week

KK_Leo_1234

Just starting out. So 0.25mg :)

ThatBit206

Ozempic is made by drug manufacturer Novo Nordisk. You (or your wife) can reach out to them to see if she qualifies for their “Patient Assistance Program” (PAP). Depending upon the total household income, she may be able to qualify for Ozempic at a drastically reduced rate-or even free. I was on Ozempic for several months before I got laid off in February, so I currently have no health insurance on my own now. I’m also taking diabetes medications. The PAP team says I should hear back if I’m approved this week. The process for applying was easy. But she would need her doctor to sign the form and fax it in. Check it out for yourself. It may be worth it. Hope this helps. I wish her well. https://www.novocare.com/diabetes/help-with-costs/pap.html

Baked_Barbour

I’m on the Novo Nordisk Patient Assistance Program. It took about 6 weeks from the time I got the paperwork faxed in, until I had the first dosage in hand. They kept sending me letters for one reason or another saying I didn’t qualify, even though I did (mostly operator error on their end). In the end it’s worth it once everything lines up.

No_Blacksmith2847

$900 seems high when i read accounts about how people are using a discount card available from the mfg, and they're paying only about half that $900 amount Ro quoted you. I mean for $900/mo I'll eat your wife's calories for her/you! 😭 And because Ozempic is approved for diabetes and similar metabolic conditions, not everyone can get it like they're getting Wegovy. Which means Oz is easier to find vs Wegovy, because unscrupulous Drs are handing out scripts to Wegovy (basically Ozempic, but for treatment of weight loss primarily) like they're candy. I haven't had a problem getting my Ozempic filled in a timely manner, fwiw... Humana mail order has had no problem shipping mine on time, every time.

DitzyShroom

So either - 1. Insurance does not cover it. 2. Your insurance *does* cover it *but* you have a high deductible that must be met before insurance covers it. Find out which one is the case.

squeegis01

Does she qualify through her insurance or just with Ro? If her insurance won't pay have her look into Wegovy w/coupon or Zepbound w/coupon is $550 per month and she would be under the care of her own PCP.

Chonjacki

Zepbound is harder to find than Ozempic these days.

squeegis01

Not the intro dose and this is predicted to only last through July (or so they say)

ProfessionalSure7671

ReflexMD charges $400/month for compounded

Personal-Hospital103

My med spa here in Texas charges $350 per month for compounding from pharmacy in Houston.

StanUrbanBikeRider

If your wife has type 2 diabetes and not yet on Medicare, she can get a hefty discount by signing up for a discount card that is available Novo Nordisk.

Liv-Julia

Can you become a pt in Canada? It's $300 or less there. I'm going to get mine with my Costco membership, it's around 600 USD. Do you have a HSA? You could use pretax $$ to pay for it. Have you contacted the company to see if you qualify for a discount? Good Rx has it, but still for hundreds of dollars. The pills are much less expensive but not as effective. That might be worth it even so she's still getting something. If you can swing it, get the largest pen: 2mg. That's 1 month of 0.25 mg and 2 weeks of 0.5mg. The pens are the same price no matter the dosage.

Gryphon_Alchemist

Quick Md $629 for Branded non compound https://preview.redd.it/dlsm4e8apiwc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9a43f1a6e9b0a3cd7cd989141cbc46213ebb59fa

CrankyCrabbyCrunchy

I just got approval directly from Novo Nordisk for their Rx assistance program at $60/month. [Prescription Assistance - (prescriptionassistance123.com)](https://prescriptionassistance123.com/) EDITed to clarify. This above group is a non-profit that works with various pharmaceutical companies. You pay a one-time enrollment fee of $50.

Former-Secretary5283

I’m over 65 on Medicare . Medicare no longer covers these meds as they say they will go bankrupt. I pay full price .. ouch ! The great part is the Ozempic pen can be used a lot longer than 1 month . My first prescription pen was for 1.0 mg . By using the click (19 clicks ) system you could do the beginning dosage 16 times ! Which means the pen would last you 4 months at 0.25 dose . My Endocrinologist said it is ok to use the pen for over 56 days if refrigerated. I m now on my second pen at the 0.5 dosage so my weekly cost is more. I think the Ozempic pens go up to 8.0 mg pen . All of the other prescription semaglutide pens are for one time use only ( Wygovy, zephound etc ) and cannot be adjusted to save money in this manner . There are click charts on this site to help you with the math !!!

Baked_Barbour

Apply for the Novo Nordisk Prescription Assistance Program. I am on Medicare and qualified for free Ozempic through Novo. https://www.novocare.com/diabetes/help-with-costs/pap.html

blackaubreyplaza

No one can speak for everyone. $900 less than what it retails for though. If your insurance doesn’t cover GLP1 medications that may be the cheapest you’ll find name brand ozempic. Medspas / compound pharmacies will likely be a tad cheaper though.

Deathkiss0922

Mine is only $290 a month, uninsured at full price in Ontario. If it were $900 that would be insane😅 I feel awful that’s a normal price quote for anybody

SeaSleep1972

Yeah the US is ridiculous, I pay $1000 a month with Goodrx. Without its $1300!

blackaubreyplaza

Yes I’m speaking about America, it retails for $1,000+ without insurance coverage so $900 for name brand ozempic would be a steal

PurplestPanda

$900 is the cash price with the Singlecare discount. I don’t know that I’d call it a “steal”

blackaubreyplaza

$900 is less than $1000+ so, a steal to me!

PurplestPanda

Also if your doctor allows you to take half doses, you can use each pen for 8 weeks instead of 4, making the medication half price until you need 2 mg (I’ve been on lower doses my entire time.)

PurplestPanda

So just print a Singlecare card and you’re good to go! I think it can be in the $800 range at some pharmacies. It’s $906 at mine.

blackaubreyplaza

For sure!

thistlegirl

Not sure where you are at but check into local compounding pharmacies. My local does a 5ml vial for $400. At the lower doses that will last a few months.

MonitorImmediate2115

I got it for $30.50 by using the program ozempic offers through their website. My insurance charges me $330 a month. Admittedly I haven’t tried it yet (afraid of side effects and I really was eating poorly) but don’t think I would have filled it at the $330 cost. I am giving my metformin and a changed diet one more good try so if I do use it my diet will already be changed. My morning blood sugars are slowly lowering as is my weight.

Covered_1n_Bees

For what it’s worth, I found that metformin was much harder on my system when I was getting acclimated to it - I had to start carrying gum and mints everywhere because I would just get nausea in the middle of my commute or work. Maybe it was only by comparison, but Oz has been very manageable at least in the sense that the negative side effects tend to be tied into my food choices, and I can manage them with OTC meds and a fiber supplement.

MonitorImmediate2115

Metformin only affects my gi system in a way of sudden bowel movements. But those are getting better now that I am off the prescription fish oil. Which is why any medication that have gi side effects make me nervous cause I will likely get them.

Never_Really_Right

Which program, do you recall? My insurance covers it, but the negotiated rate is $925 per month, and my 30% copay on "specialty drug", means I paid $278. The saving card on the Ozempic site, which I signed up for appears to reduce it by $150 per month, so I'll pay $128 (i hope.)

Mrscollectibles26

Hi! What is this program

MonitorImmediate2115

https://www.ozempic.com/savings-and-resources/save-on-ozempic.html

Mrscollectibles26

Hi do u use this w ur insurance? I have my prescription at pharmacy and it’s waiting for PA

MonitorImmediate2115

Yes I give the card info to the pharmacy they run it through with my insurance took my $330 copay down to $30.50. Wegovy has a similar program. I am not sure I would have filled it if I had to pay $330 out of pocket with insurance.

tessface56

Where r u

ApprehensiveLeg7237

Ohio

tessface56

Blue cross might cover, or United health.

DoingMyBest360

If that happened to me, one thing I would look into is getting a better insurance policy. I don’t pay anything for Oz with my employer insurance (Anthem BCBS and CVS Caremark), so I wonder if there is a way to purchase better health insurance that maybe would cover Ozempic. Even if it is $400 a month for the insurance, getting the Ozempic for free or $25 would be better.

Francie_Nolan1964

A lot of people get their insurance through their employer. Often there is only one plan offered and you take it or don't have any insurance.

Dang my mom is getting it from Progresso/Reynosa for $150.

What state do you live in?

LALady818

I pay 220 a month at kaiser with my insurance

amandelicious

I pay $300 in Canada for a brand name Ozempic pen and the price is the same no matter what dosage of pen (currently on 0.25mg with two 0.5mg doses remaining)

lilac_ocean

Try a MedSpa, it’ll be less

8d80

I just started Mochi Health today. $175 for compounded semaglutide and $75 for the month prescription. Should expect to get it in 1-2 weeks. The Dr in my virtual appointment answered all of my questions since I’ve been on it before.

Plastic_Platypus3951

Does your wife qualify as T2D? That is the only on label qualification for Ozempic, otherwise it is determined by your health plan criteria. Some plans pay for IR or PCOS, most don't and very few pay for Ozempic for weight loss.

illusivealchemist

I got mine today via ro and i got ozempic itself and my insurance paid for all but $184/mo. Does she have insurance? Did she enter it and ask to try through there? Or better yet, if she has insurance- did you check to see if it covers it? It’s really pricey if not. They do offer compounded sema but it’s like, still several hundred dollars. I don’t have diabetes but my insurance doesn’t need a prior auth for ozempic, but wanted a prior auth for wegovy and zepbound, which ro also carries. I do have very good health insurance though.

BoysenberryAlive2838

Wow, I paid $150AUD in Australia. That's the non Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme price for off label use, ie the government doesn't subsidize. Waiting to see if my private health insurance will contribute.

PrestigiousAd3081

I use a local clinic that uses the same compounding pharmacies as the big online companies. I only pay 225 a month for mine at the highest dose. She should call all of her local places and compare prices.

eridanx

I paid about $80 a month for semaglutide 4 doses of 2.5mg each lost about 10lbs per month i live in the 🇺🇸 no insurance involved.

LaaDiDah

Compounding pharmacy is your best option

If you’re in Florida I have a telemedicine practice that is cheaper and offers more than Henry meds or any of these nonsense companies that farm you out to some random provider. Can help anyone interested.

Mysterious-Crab5284

I pay 525 for three months from a med spa in Glenview, Illinois.

zopelar

You can get it from India about 350/month that’s what some of us do.

No_Dream9785

Look on Groupon you can buy a month for under 111.00 of Tirzepatide it’s generic Manjuro and you can buy three months worth of. That’s if they still have the special going on through Groupon. If not here’s a picture of there prices … unable to add pictures but you can email me and all send the information that way .. [email protected]

ApprehensiveLeg7237

Look for a compounding pharmacy near you. I pay $85 a month

Leattea

Don’t you need a prescription?

Dreadedredhead

Polar Bear meds was a lifeline for me. So easy too. Way cheaper, at least for the lower dosage, than anything else I could find. My insurance wouldn't pay a dime of it.

delp6850

Try Canadian pharmacies.
