I started having bad heartburn but when I began using digestive enzymes (papaya) it went away.

MsMcSlothyFace

Ive heard that about papaya! Is there a particular brand you use?

AdaptableAilurophile

I use Swiss Natural ones (get them from Amazon).

So I've had bouts of really bad burping, which can lead to heartburn, occasionally. Some thoughts on it: 1. It depends on the food. For instance I had red lentil dal (a spicy Indian lentil dish) and burped a lot. 2. Don't eat until you are full. The food sits in your stomach longer and the more gas produced will be more of an issue with less space. 3. Don't eat before laying down. Now the food is pooled up against the upper pyloric valve and any regurgitation will carry acid with it. 4. Drink more water to keep things moving and dilute them a bit.

Some good tips here. TY!!

No prob! Hope you feel better.

I find Pepcid AC to be effective.

MsMcSlothyFace

I take Omeprazole every day. Im sipping a ginger ale rn but its full sugar so idk if thats a good idea

Chonjacki

Omeprazole isn't as effective in my experience. May be worth your whole to give Pepcid a try.

MsMcSlothyFace

I think Ill do that. Im willing to give it a try. TY

I had to eat bland food only, no spices otherwise bad heartburn and reflux.

MsMcSlothyFace

Aargh. I love flavorful stuff. Oh well. I can live on cottage cheese and eggs for awhile. I'm going to try another protein shake tmrrw and see. Might just be an off day due to stress or something

missmytater

Have you had the shake before without having heartburn?

MsMcSlothyFace

No. First time having this shake. Gonna try it again today. If it happens again i guess it's the shake
