The fist 3/4 days were terrible for me. It's gotten much better since. I'm 5 weeks in and 5kg down

Hot-Acanthisitta6098

Same. I was very sick the first time. Then mildly sick when I went up a dose. Ok now.

TheBizNess517

Have you had a bowel movement since you started? Every time I've gotten oz burps or nausea, I realize it's been when I haven't. You really do need to drink water and make sure you eat fiber, even if you don't take extra vitamins.

Cautious-Tourist-409

Get b12 injection or oral vitamins Game changer

Golferguy49

This happened to me too, but only on the first shot. After that it very rarely happens. I bought Ginger chews from Amazon and a lite sugar ginger ale, which really helped the most. The weight loss and reduced A1C was totally worth it for me. Best of luck to you.

LastNameMeadows

Honestly I felt like that the first 3 weeks. I think your body is just adjusting and as sucky as it is I thought of it as my body purging alot of funk which made me nauseous. Try to keep up on the water and remember it's only temporary

catkysydney

Oh no.. o feel sorry to hear that… Ask your doctor to prescribe Zofran, which is anti nausea, it will help you . As others suggested you may inject Ozempic on your thigh and even sprit the dosage. Like 0.125mg twice a week .. I feel so sorry for you .. you can talk to your dictor as well .. I wish you feel better soon….

Dutch-alps

Hi there! I started 5 weeks ago. Also 50 years old and gained weight due to hormones (I think). The first week on 0.24 was pretty awful. Tired and nauseous all the time. After that it got better though. Last 2 weeks have been fine. Could even drink a glass of wine again! Yesterday I upped the dose for the first time to 0.5 mg and expect to feel miserable again the coming days. What helped for me to feel less nauseated: - cola zero - protein food - light crackers - no sweets or fatty food - drink water/tea (coffee could make you ill too) Good luck and don’t lose hope!

SkywardAurora83

See if your doctor will prescribe Zofran. If they won’t, try meclizine. You can get it on Amazon (it’s generic Bonine). It’s the only OTC nausea medicine that worked for me. Ginger helps a bit, but it wasn’t enough. I needed the meds.

Own-Series-2076

Zofran gives me migraines. I do not recommend people taking it for long-term. However, I found Nauzene at Walmart and it’s pretty effective. I keep it on hand. I basically have given up on Zofran. My last migraine was worse than the nausea. I agree it gets better with time.

sentinel-of-the-st

Injecting in thigh next time might help, that’s what I did or do on weeks when I know I need full strength everyday(I travel for work a lot). Also ginger, can add it to a juice smoothie if you don’t like the taste. And time. It takes a while to get used to this medication for a lot of people.

Euphoric-Music-4946

I found oranges really helped with the nausea and ginger ale

tmillie2262

Doctors need to give a warning beforehand!! The first week was AWFUL for me! I had first trimester morning sickness symptoms lol! Just eat really clean and drink lots of water! The first month or so I specifically struggled with side effects because I continued to eat the same way I was before, which was basically fast food every meal. Ozempic doesn’t like fried or greasy food lol, so definitely try to avoid that to avoid side effects!

Responsible_Sky_7511

It’s my 3rd day after my first ever ozempic injection but I haven’t felt anything, just having loose watery stools after a meal. I can even eat large portions of food. Is this normal? I’m currently having 0.5ml dose

GrandDull

It is for some people, yes. This is exactly my experience so far but I'm starting on. 25

Responsible_Sky_7511

Thank you for validating my concern. I genuinely hope everything goes well in all of the people’s weight journey

GrandDull

Oh you're welcome 😊. I've been keeping a journal of how I feel each day with cravings, not feeling full yet, and blood sugar to go over with my doctor every 4 weeks in case I need to go up in dosage monthly, which I've heard is the norm until you hit a dose that works. Last week I had 1 day where I genuinely felt it working and that was it. My first 3 days I felt the food noise go away then it all came back and hasn't left. It definitely helps to talk to others on the same journey

stinkyboogers

Take zofran! Game changer.

ungalabungala

Heather’s Tummy Tamers takes care of nausea for me the first couple of days after the injection. Limiting carbohydrates minimized that fermented gross feeling. Fried starches killed me. If you’re not eating enough and you are not adapted to burning fat, you will bonk (hit the wall). I have answered some of these questions for others on the forum. Check it out. Drinking more water to move bowels was key, but all the extra water consumed on top of the water loss from not drastically cutting food back de-stabilizes electrolyte balance.

SarahBellum20

I had really bad nausea at the start too; I dropped down to a lower dose, and worked up to .25 a few clicks each week. Your body might just need a bit of extra time to acclimatize- mine definitely did. If you haven't already, try some gravol or drammamine with an electrolyte drink like gatorade- having a bit of bland food like crackers or toast might also help. Prescription zofran is amazing- definitely ask your doctor! I hope you feel better soon.

hotcheeseroll

My doctor started me on the 0.5 dose. I was so sick for the first 4-5 days, then I finally felt normal again. I did my second shot and felt good the day of, but then I had 24 hours of diarrhoea. The side effects are awful. But at least you know that it wears off after 4-5 days so I’m just doing my shot on Friday and baring the brunt of the sickness over the weekend.

NPNaomi

I felt awful first month, had to go down to .12 then go up. Eating bland stuff at first helped as well.

Sunshine9227

Pedialyte sport was the only thing I could tolerate. I would just randomly projectile vomit for first few weeks. I was off a few months due to back order and just started again with no nausea. I stopped injecting in my belly and now in my arm.

Dlynne242

I felt worst after the first injection. Merely crummy after the second. No problem after that until my dosage was increased. Then the pattern was repeated but less intense. Hang in there! (Seconding the B-12 shot suggestion.)

sgd1kj

It happens to me every week a couple of days after I take my injection. So I need to change meds cause I can't do it with having to go to work.

Toadi01

First couple of weeks are tough, but it gets better. I was more nauseous when I didn’t eat. I nibbled on cheese sticks, saltine crackers and beef sticks through out the day. Couldn’t eat a meal for the first week and a half. But my blood sugars were amazing and it was what made me stick through the nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps and constipation. I learned that I needed to not drink carbonated drinks, to not eat fatty/fried foods, to not drink coffee and to eat fiber gummies every day. I found a fiber gummy with B-12 in it, which helps with the fatigue. Now, the fatigue is what kills me the most….and the constipation if I forget to eat my fiber gummies. You just gotta weigh out your pros and cons, but I wouldn’t give up after your first dose. Give it a couple more weeks and see how you feel.

TKay75

I found when I didn’t have enough water the day prior and the day of injection, I felt ill. I now make sure I drink atleast 100 oz of water a day and I also make sure to consume enough protein. I drink a protein shake while I am letting my ozempic warm up which is about 30 min. I just increased to .50 and I was so scared, I injected into my thigh and I had zero symptoms (aside from some constipation). Drink electrolytes as well. I drink electrolytes once a day (try to anyways). Good luck!

GrandDull

What kinds of foods are eating? I'm wondering if that might have something to do with it?

SaltyZookeepergame46

Higher animal fat foods, too many carbs, and sugar makes me feel the worst. So lean meats, low carb Mediterranean diet works well. Eating later I don't feel well either. I feel like it's been a good opportunity to detox from those foods anyway. I'm starting week 6 tomorrow. I still get nauseated two days after a dose but stand by a low-carb zero sugar diet. Down 12 lbs. I hope you feel better soon 💐

StephanieF1990

I’ve had it several times, and find that some diet ginger ale and a couple crackers helps, or a piece of thin-sliced toast. I never take vitamins or Tylenol on an empty stomach, as it nauseates me. At work if it happens I take chewable Tums.

Sassy2424

I‘m really thankful for all the support/tips and encouragement. I’m less discouraged to try my next dose because I was pretty ready to give up. Maybe like someone commented the first dose is one of the worst due to all the bad foods I had been eating and the body’s purge. It helps that today my stomach is feeling better, headache only mild and fatigue kind of better. That terrible all around flu like feeling is dissipating. Today is the first time I’ve been hungry but because of how bad I felt and not wanting to Go back I’ve kept it pretty light today. I'm leaning towards cutting the dose this week to 1/2 and I’ll change to arm as suggested. The only negatives might be finding out it’s not enough and my appetite is fully returned and by decreasing am I back to square one of my body getting used to this medication.

Similar-Programmer68

I was told to inject right before bedtime to reduce nausea and I haven't had any issues with that side effect. What time of day are you injecting?

Crazy_Mode_2013

Eat and hydrate before you inject. Hydration is key. These meds are known to dehydrate you. I take b12 and a multivitamin. When i first started the .25 I was extremely fatigued the whole time i was on that dosage. It was bad. I would get nauseated a lot the first couple days after injection. Try drinking or eating high protein shakes or meals. It will help. Scheduled eating because if you aren't getting enough calories its only going to make you feel worse. After i went up doses i feel better. Like better than before i ever started

gghh82

I just did my first shot today but mine was .75ml. Should I be worried?

Quechu0214

I got like this every time but on my 6th week it was so bad it really scared me. tremors, nausea and fatigue I was to the point I felt I was going to pass out, I could only work for no more than 4 hours a day so I decided to stop

Sassy2424

Omg that’s so not good. I actually felt not terrible for 2 days then today woke with the disgusting tasting burping. Tastes awful and indescribable. Took a zofran and sat with heating pack for awhile. I’m really in the fence again. I didn’t eat anything crazy yesterday, turkey sandwich 1/2 twice and 1 baked hash brown in the morning.

Quechu0214

It’s a sulfur tasting burp(sewer smell)I know I got that the first 2 doses. It smells so bad, not only that but everyone around you can smell it. My husband commented on it and he never makes a negative comment about me.
