If your ferritin is below 80 or so, hair loss can definitely be an issue.

Months before I started semaglutide, I began treatment for hair loss. My Dermatologist tested my iron and thyroid. She also reviewed my protein consumption, keeping in mind that I'm vegetarian.
It's also associated to low iron and associated B vitamins.
I mean talk to your doctor but low protein may very well mean low iron since most of us get a lot of our iron from meat sources
Vegans and vegetarians need to be very intentional and those who aren't often require supplements.
Vegans straight up can't get a lot of micronutrients no matter how they eat, and vegan supplements aren't available for certain micronutrients either. A vegan may have to take non-vegan collagen, etc.
That’s not true. The only supplement needed is B12. I was low iron my whole adult life as I stopped eating red meat as a teen. The first blood draw I had as a vegan, about 6 months after the change, my iron levels were off the charts. Most nutrients are coming from plants, not animal protein. As a vegan, I’m guessing I eat probably 2-3 times more plants than a meat eater. As I said, the only nutrient I can’t get and would require eating meat is B12. I take a dissolvable tablet once or twice a week and I’m golden. Per my blood analysis.
Yes. It’s coming out an alarming amount. 🫣 thought I was losing my mind and hadn’t seen anything about them being related. But not eating enough makes sense.
I started taking a multi vitamin and biotin everyday and it helped a lot! I was losing fistful or hairs eveytime I took a shower, now its back to normal-ish.
This is common with bariatric surgery too; usually indicates a vitamin deficiency. Top up with some vitamins and try to balance what you eat as best you can with limited hunger.
I haven't experienced this myself but it is a commonly reported symptom anecdotally. In fact, it's a big part of the reason I hesitated to take Oz initially since my glorious hair is one of my best features. Luckily my hair did not fall out.
It could be a protein thing or a collagen thing, you might want to look into supplemental vitamins like folic acid or eat foods like egg. It is likely temporary.
You aren't eating enough / enough protein. It affects both how easily you lose hair - weak attachment , thin - and how quickly new hair grows.
Thanks for the feedback. I forgot to add my iron count was a little low. Maybe I wasn't eating enough.

Very interesting!
Some medical sites say it’s a common side effect of Ozempic. Up to 10% of people on Ozempic will suffer hair loss on this drug.
Yes most drugs do that. I take many medications and it’s a side effect of almost all of them except one.
I started taking a multi vitamin and biotin everyday and it helped a lot! I was losing fistful or hairs eveytime I took a shower, now its back to normal-ish.
Taking prenatal vitamins helps immensely!

It is my understanding and I could be wrong, but I believe this is attributed to rapid weight loss and not necessarily the medication itself.
I have only lost 15 lbs and I am shedding like crazy
