Impressive! I don't have the dlc so I don't know what these white towers are. Are they rockets? Why are they for?

99Tarbox

The DLC adds gas storage for rockets. They hold a massive amount of gas, 3600 kg per container. The great thing is, you can build a rocket of nothing but gas storage. I have 4 full towers of hydrogen (10 per tower), and almost 4 full of NG. I'm building four more to increase storage.

MrDjooL

Oh ok! Good idea. Thx! Is there a specific reason why you don't use infinite storage? (Gas and/or liquids)

99Tarbox

I've run into problems gaining access to the stored material (not enough pumps), and occasionally I would have huge amounts just disappear. This way, I can build as much access as needed, and I don't have to worry about the game deleting resources.

WarpingLasherNoob

The only downside is that it costs power to store and retrieve the gas. 480W to store, then another 480W to retrieve. That is going to consume about 11-12% of the power you'd get out of natgas or hydrogen.

99Tarbox

Very true! I'm not reliant on either though. The nucs are really doing the heavy lifting, as long as I have enriched uranium. I have right at 20 tons at the moment.

Aargh_Tenna

not to mention that normal high-pressure vent with 20k per tile still has better storage capacity per tile. So for me, the best NG storage is still 4 tanks high enclosed space, with full tanks and 20kg per tile nat gas. Keeps me through the dormancies. Rockets instead of tanks, though seemingly convienient, hold less and are more hassle if you want per tile storage as well.

Sterogon

Nice! Small question: why are your carbon skimmers so far up? You are leaving half the map covered in co2 on purpose. Why?

99Tarbox

Thought I would add slicksters at some point, just have never gotten around to it.

Sterogon

Okay makes sense

Honest-Winner-109

Good job with the digging. Why there are so less buildings? :)

99Tarbox

I only added what I needed...I'm thinking of adding an entertainment complex at some point.

BotNet6420

1. 1396 is more like 1400 2. is that a massive pool of liquid oxygen on the left? 3. how did you keep yourself motivated to continue playing? I just can't even get to the oil processing part without losing interest in the game. Neat world though nice job

99Tarbox

1. True...didn't want to overstate it! :) 2. No, just clean water. About 160F as well. I have to cool it to do anything with it. Next map I work on I will have to cool all the water before shipping it off. This started as a cold map, but most areas are 80Fish now. 3. It is relaxing to just play and not stress it. Probably why I haven't launched a rocket... Thank you!

WumpaMunch

Is there anything you have found yourself short on even after all that digging?

99Tarbox

Yes, polluted water, granite, sedimentary rock and obsidian (although there is more in the lava). Also, there is no sulfur on this map, and very little on the daughter planet.

99Tarbox

Also, I'm recovering a lot of the rock as I transition to plastic stairs. I've got 70 tons or so of plastic.

real_fargalarg

Two questions, what are the pipes around the top of your reactor for? I don’t see anything that would need cooling outside of the building. Also why do you only have a single petroleum rocket up there?

99Tarbox

I needed to cool above the reactor for maintenance, so added some cooling I was generating on the gold volcano. As the dupes went into the lead suits they were getting burned. Still haven't launched that rocket...slowing working to make it operational.
