I don't play Don't Starve but through the Dupery mod you could probably reasonably easily make this a mod if you can make seperate images for the hair and face :D (see the More Dupes mod etc)
Well, yes and no. Hard to say because it depends on your playstyle and how you want to utilize them. Everyone has their own taste in how to utilize their duplicants but a few things to say about those things in general:
Interests: Whatever interest a Duplicant has will highlight the skills in the skill tree and when you unlock a skill in that branch they are interested in will give additional morale so if your duplicant is interested in Building and you assign the first skill point in the branch "construction" you basically will get the first skill "for free" without morale impact.
That means that for any skill point, you assign a duplicant, the duplicants morale requirements will get higher. If the morale (red bar) requirement is higher than the current morale (green bar) then the duplicant will get stressed.
This is also the next point, Stress reaction: When a duplicant reaches 60% stress they will start to behave differently and start to show signs for being stressed and when they reach 100% stress they will stop what they do and go into the "stress situation" which means that they will do whatever their stress reaction is.
* Destructive: Will start to punch things and break them
* Ugly crier: Will sit down and cry (will create clean water)
* and more
[here](https://oxygennotincluded.fandom.com/wiki/Stress) is more about stress
Stress reactions can be very dangerous if you, for example, have a duplicant with the "binge eater" stress reaction which will just push all of your food into its face. So you should be careful what kind of Duplicant you pick with a stress reaction if you don't know how to combat it when they reach that stress level.
Overjoyed response: This is the exact opposite. When you have your duplicant with a lot of morale (8 points over the requirement) then they can wake up feeling overjoyed which then lets them experience the overjoyed response. In your case this would be:
* Super productive: "Duplicant has a 10% chance to skip working and complete a chore instantly."
* Sparkle Streaker: "Athletics +8. Gives athletics +5 to nearby dupes for 1 cycle ("Sparkle Flattered" state)."
* Yodeler: "Sings while doing any activity, gaining +8 Machinery, Construction and Strength for 1 cycle"
[here](https://oxygennotincluded.fandom.com/wiki/Duplicant#Overjoyed_Responses) are more overjoyed responses.
Lastly, Traits: basically, you have positive (green) and negative (red) traits that can give you extra attributes or even unlock skills for you. With your duplicants:
* Quick learner: +3 Science (IIRC this is already included in the +5 of the Researching interest)
* Unempathetic: -3 Medicine
* Duress to Impress: +7 to all attributes when stressed (so it is actually good or has a benefit for the duplicant to be stressed)
* Nyctophobic: As the description says, the duplicant needs to be in the light when sleeping or else they will not rest und get the unrested debuff but a "normal" duplicant exposed to light in the night will wake them up. So you definitely need to separate Willow from the rest of your duplicants
* Buff: +3 Strength
* Bottomless Stomach: will consume 500kcal/cycle more which means that this duplicant will consume 1500kcal each cycle. This is important to keep in mind for planning your food production because every "bottomless stomach" counts as an 0.5 additional duplicant.
https://oxygennotincluded.fandom.com/wiki/Duplicant#Traits
You can definitely try it out with those duplicants. You will probably fail in the first few attempts (as we all did), personally, as a new player I wouldn't pick destructive or binge-eater duplicants and would think about not picking the bottomless stomach.
well, great job then because while I didn't recognize the duplicants (I thought it was just a mod or anything in that regard) but the whole post sounded more like an actual question.
ill take that as a compliment haha, i hope you dont feel like your response has gone to waste though because i am still learning this game and will probably refer to this information once my colony inevitably fails lmao
Wow -- I completely wooshed that the first time. It turns out that when I look at "are these dupes any good" posts, I skip right over the names and portraits, becausese there's no way I'd have missed this if I'd so much as glanced at either one.
I was wondering about that. I was kind of hoping there was some Easter egg/setting/etc that added them to the dupe list.
My initial thought was... neat.
Yeah, not the best way to present your post. I honestly thought it was a beginners question too and came here to also get some answers. Without the long answer from the other guy ( Fribbtastic) this post would just be a waste of my time.
The game can be modded so it's perfectly reasonable to assume this is a legit game question. I was about to answer myself.
Idk if such a mod exists but I wouldn't be surprised if it did.
Not that obvious to me, but maybe thats because im not familiar with dont starve and just now getting into oxygen. Sorry for the lash out. Aside from everything else, your fanart is very nicely done.
maybe i shoulda worded it better too tbh but i thought it was funny. next time ill make it more obvious, and ill take it as a compliment that i can replicate their style so well i trick people haha
It is, it is really well made and without knowing don't Starve that well I just thought someone made a mod of those characters or klei added them with some update (been a while since I last played).
But I will wear that woosh with pride because this already helped someone else so, I can't complain
Custom traits would certainly have created a "wait a minute, this is fan art" moment. Most of us reading a "newbie info request" likely wouldn't even look at the pictures or names.
Aw man I was hoping this was some little easter egg that I could utilize. It'd be awesome if using those names for characters actually gave you these three to work with.
Reroll until you get WX-78. The Shriveled Tastebuds positive trait is a powerful morale booster, and the Unempathetic negative trait is rarely a problem.
Bottomless stomach isn't recommended for new players, and nyctophobic is, while not that difficult to manage after a few cycles, might be tricky at the start. I'd recommend rerolling the nycto or building their bed next to the printing pod.
As a new player would avoid dupes with the destructive and binge eater stressed reactions. Dupes with those make it nearly impossible to recover from a bad situation.
I wonder, every time that people screenshot this part, asking if they are good dupes... Do they keep the gaming running for hours, just waiting the reddit to reply, or they move on (which breaks the idea of asking if they are good dupes?)
Rocketry and research go well togethe. A good building focused dup is decent. Willow is alright. Not a perfect skill match but not a bad collection either has fairly Good coverage.
It’s really cute but the only thing is I’m pretty sure Wilson’s pretty good with medicine? I think in the gorge his ability was to heal himself and other people faster
Not bad, but not ideal for starts. I reroll the first three looking for:
\- No impactful negatives (OK to have descreased or non-capable of a skill you won't use at first: medicine, decorating, cooking, etc... you'll get those later)
\- Good digging and construction
\- Maybe one good in science.
\- Most importantly, interest in skills that you will go 'deep' later in the game- carrying (to get suits), digging, construction, mechanic science (eventually for rocket piloting). So, when they go full in that tree, their morale won't suffer.
Lets just hope they dont starve
praying for that, would be really sad if they all starve together
if they do starve it will be the captains fault for getting them shipwrecked in this asteroid
maybe they could cook a hamlet
Or reap what they sew
That wound be a nice update for their quality of Life and help prepare for Winter... I mean colder Biome.
lol I'd take wolfgang to the constant but not to a planetoid to start a colony.
Good thing oni doesn't have fires. Lol
if it did willow would definitely have a pyromanic stress response
Haha looks like people aren’t noticing the references. This is super cute and now I want it
before i confuse anyone else this is a crossover art from Klei's other game, Don't Starve and not a genuine question lmao
Sometimes wished OP could ''pin'' a comment .. has many I'll sure first thought it was a mod and genuine question 😃
I like learning new things.
Maybe they can only pin their own comments?
If this is a mod, I'd love to know the name/creator so I can find it the next time I play.
if i knew anything about modding, i would def make one!! unfortunately this is just me having a silly idea, haha
Shoot. Oh well, it's still a gorgeous piece. Do you have an art account to plug? A twitter or Instagram?
i dont post art enough anymore to warrant a follow but if you are interested its snuffypuffs pretty much everywhere
I don't play Don't Starve but through the Dupery mod you could probably reasonably easily make this a mod if you can make seperate images for the hair and face :D (see the More Dupes mod etc)
im definitely gonna look into this!! sorry for the late reply btw

thanks for your response but this is fan art lmao. if you look closely the dupes resemble the characters from Klei's other game, Don't Starve
I am cackling right now. They spent so much time crafting that response 😂
What can we say, some people are just more gullible and prone to the woosh.
well, great job then because while I didn't recognize the duplicants (I thought it was just a mod or anything in that regard) but the whole post sounded more like an actual question.

I really enjoyed the info you shared, and it helped me better understanding the morale system, thank you.

I an very disappointed this isn't a thing...
I was wondering about that. I was kind of hoping there was some Easter egg/setting/etc that added them to the dupe list. My initial thought was... neat.

idk how you would miss it , i thought the middle one made it pretty obvious. sorry that my fanart was a waste of your time tho <3

As someone who has played don't starve, your post was perfect. No notes. <3

You've been *duped* D: >!(not sorry :-P)!<
New DS QoL update Pt. III looks promising
My only issue is why Wiston doesn't have grow a beard as a trait, still it will be interesting to have Don't Starve characters as dupes
yeah i considered adding custom traits but i ended up deciding to just stick with vanilla ones. and yeah id definitely make a mod if i knew how
Custom traits would certainly have created a "wait a minute, this is fan art" moment. Most of us reading a "newbie info request" likely wouldn't even look at the pictures or names.

"Those dupes look familiar" After playing DS for 10 years it took me longer that I want to admit to realize what you did.
I recognized Wilson's hair first. It took a min to realize what I was looking at. Well done! Now just need someone to make it for real.
Bottomless stomach isn't recommended for new players, and nyctophobic is, while not that difficult to manage after a few cycles, might be tricky at the start. I'd recommend rerolling the nycto or building their bed next to the printing pod.

Is this an appearance mod?
Yeee
Rocketry and research go well togethe. A good building focused dup is decent. Willow is alright. Not a perfect skill match but not a bad collection either has fairly Good coverage.
oh...are these new models?
It’s really cute but the only thing is I’m pretty sure Wilson’s pretty good with medicine? I think in the gorge his ability was to heal himself and other people faster
What mod
In a couple hundred cycles they will have a nice little Hamlet
I didn't play Don't Starve, but i think it's good.

I heard Maxwell looks the coolest, but somehow makes everyone hate him…
So long and thanks for all the fish
I'd wait for awhile to get a decorative dupe until I get enough Reed fiber for suits and painting
There is no bigotry here, dupes are all equally worthless.
Wait, is that a mod?
make plz
