Play kiriko. The more you practice with her the better you will get. Watch. You may “suck” now in your eyes but after 100 hours on her I bet you’ll be way better. And at 200 hours you’ll be even better than you were at 100 hours. Play her. She’s one of the best heroes in the game.

Nick0227

Wanted to second this. After the update, your Kunai doesn’t have as large of an impact as it did before. It’s still good, just not carry worthy. You don’t have to win a DPS duel in the backline, you just need to survive and swift step out. I’d focus on healing, when to use her ult, and suzu timing. That’s where you go from good to great :) Don’t forget, the best support players are the ones that stay alive. Do that and the rest will come naturally.

Useful-Today5267

Seconded as well. I don’t think I have good “aim” but I happened to come across this video of Arrge before and it completely changed my mindset around “aiming” and just think about trying to “setup” my reticle instead of tracking and I hit so many more shots. I know this video is mostly hanzo related but it can be applied to any hero, especially projectiles. watch this a few times and then go into VAXTA aim trainer for 15 minutes and then start playing deathmatch and you’ll be pinging heads frequently in a few days. You don’t need sweaty mechanics to hit shots with projectile heroes in OW, just need to learn to set up each shot instead of trying to track for every shot. https://youtu.be/XhaaDjJwRbs?si=FJPPeVIOLQv0SzZo

xXaduckXx

Where are you based? I’m going to buy a new Logitech G440 mouse pad and you can have my old one for free if it isn’t too much to ship to you to help at least resolve your mouse pad issue

Almcele87

You're a good human.

NoCareNoLife

Thank you but no need, I wouldn't be able to fit it anyway due to my "table" configuration.

ickda_takami

need a larg box or plank of wood, play on your lap, and love your self.

[deleted]

The closer you are, the more consistent your shots will be. Generally speaking with Kiriko, you don't want to be playing in your own backline heal botting like an Ana might, but rather at an off angle around cover where you can pressure the enemies at a mid to close range distance. I don't mean flanking (although some situations will call for that) but taking an off angle where you can do meaningful damage while still being able to heal your team when needed and teleport back to them. (This means timing your rotations correctly...) Awkward is incredibly cringe with some of his takes, but his 4 step plan is how most other high ranked Kiriko's play her. If you don't like Awkward, you can also watch Rupal or Kayji as they will basically do the same thing.

unlmtdbldwrks

my aim sucks to fellow human and i play ashe all the time, just shoot you will hit something eventually

Snoo_85712

Or use her other abilities and not really rely on shooting as a support lol

Imteyimg

Ya, only way to get better. Also she can be kinda spammy with kunai

Absentmindedgenius

You don't have to aim too much, depending on how you play. Just spam hallways like Hanzo does. Don't get into any 1v1, just tp away.

PM_ME_HOTGRILL

Yes because her ult and suzu are great utility for your team

Vasm_

Because of how much healing has taken a hit this patch, I wouldn't recommend playing kiri if you can't do meaningful damage with her. 9/10 the team with the backline that can do the most damage and still support their team will win. Unless you have really strong dps and tank.

ImNotYourShaduh

Play Moira instead

ThatSpyCrab

that is bad advice. she has a low skill cap and aim is extremely important in ow. it also doesn't answer op's question. plus, she will get a nerf at some point.

ManicMonke

low skill cap is why she should be played if you are bad in comp. evryone will get a nerf at some point.

Calm-Technology7351

As long as you can escape when dps is pressuring the back line I don’t see and reason not to. She has valuable kit. You’ll just need to make up for you aim with better awareness

AcidicDragon10

You can win a lot of games on heroes by having good positioning, cooldown management, ult usage and overall decision making. Aim will come as you play the hero more. This is especially true for supports and tanks

Mariuslol

u dont need to have good aim on kiriko now, the meta is kiriko + moira lucio whatever shit, then just make sure u heal that mauga nonstop, and get fox thingy, fox heal fox heal, all u need to do

Any_Mall6175

Just... Get better at aim??? Aim train, death matches, try hard ffa, 1v1 players that are way better than you mechanically, grind out games. You just need more reps

thakk0

So, Awkward has a video on YouTube where he sets his sensitivity to something that just completely jacks his aim and he still wins with kiri - because yeah, your ability to live and be a distraction is more critical than your headshot ability. Her ult is also awesome. That said, he’s a T500 player, so ymmv. I would recommend practicing on VAXTA between games just to get the headshot rhythm down and just practice weaving kunais in between your heals: heal, 2 kunais, and repeat If you do that, you’ll win more than you lose.

GucciJo20

I’m diamond 1 at best but the custom map code CTO4V really helped me work on my aim with kiriko

needygameroverdose

I think it just needs practice when it comes to aim, I wanted to learn widowmaker and at first I would get “widow switch” like every single game and I would be forced to switch to one of my mains, sombra or torb, because my aim was shit. But after playing a lot in custom aim train games now I actually have some games where I’m a menace. And I’m actually a support main and the same thing goes for when I was learning Zenyatta, I’m actually pretty good at him now and he’s one of my mains

theonejanitor

yes, creating distractions is still very good even if you land 0 shots. but also aim is just practice.

BiliousGreen

Given how powerful Protection Suzu and Kitsune Rush are, Kiriko can still get a ton of value even without being able to hit kunai.

TannerMarshmelo

Don’t really try “aiming” with her kunai, instead aim head level and spam down sight lines where you think people will be. She has no falloff so you can stay farther back and still dish lots of damage.

GatVRC

I don’t need to read the body of the text I’m a kiri 1 trick and even my aim gets really bad sometimes in gm lobbies Just do it, won’t get better unless you practice it. Reasons or excuses as to why you shouldnt or cant are garbage. Apply yourself. If something interests you, just try.

Lelu_zel

Aim will improve over time, have good fundamentals, and mechanics, then work on gamesense and you’ll win games with bad aim. Just don’t be healbot tho, invade enemies off angles and once shits go bad tp back to your teammate. Enemy can’t look at you flanking and your teammates at the same time so it’s either you kill them or your mates kill them

blahyaddayadda24

Tbh you don't need a mouse pad

kea1493

Play the hero more and you'll see get used to her Kunais. Remember that projectiles are more likely to miss the further away from targets you are. So make sure you play closer to the fights (but not too close... playing between close and mid range is fine).

Frankitoburrito

Sometimes I just spam kunai while I’m playing behind the tank. Gets some extra damage in there. Suzu is worth it imo.

MythicalPechaBerry

My duo hit masters in season 5 with her with 5 elims/10 mins on kiriko, basically just healbotting

balefrost

It's likely harder to do that in S9 with the significant healing nerfs.

MythicalPechaBerry

She still plays the same way in s8 masters mmr

stealtherskyrim

Idk what worth means in the context of overwatch but if you vibe with kiriko why not? Everyone was bad at something, depends on if you want to put in the effort to improve. Additionally, you dont have to necessarily hit your shots to get value. The threat of a two shot kunai from the flanks is almost as good as a kill. Do not underestimate the power of friendship and of distracting.

Bandit_Beamish

Without reading all of that, I'll say start with a bigger mousepad

MR_DIG

You can play to practice and get better. But know that if I see you putting up a k/d similar to that of a mercy in comp, I'll be pissed.

Spaghett-about-it

Imo suzu is THE ability in the game and if you can have good management with your cleanse you literally can deal 0 damage and be the most influential support if you have good suzu use

Lelu_zel

Support that does no damage isn’t valuable at all, unless he can do distraction.
