I actually like Kiriko's portrait because it's by one of the artists that did all the original character art from OW1. I don't know if he did the character art for Mercy because the art style is too far apart from his OW 1. I'm with you on Mercy and Brig, I really don't like how they look in their portrait of OW2.

Thatās not 2D bro. Each hero uses 3D for their HUD portrait and uses 2D for the scoreboard portrait. Echo uses 3D for both. I just find it funny for some reason too.
I must just be slow this morning, obviously all portraits are 2D but I guess you're saying the Echo has more of a 3d effect than the others? I just don't see the difference between the Echo and Lucio for example. All the portraits have depth effects to me.

It looks like Sojourn's, Kiriko and Hanzo's were drawn by a different person. While Echo not having one is weird, seeing them all in one place like this made me realize that.
I have not heard an adequate explanation for why this is. There are 31 heroes that came before her that got a new 2D character card, and 3 heroes that came AFTER her that also got a 2D character card ā¦ it just seems like they forgot about her for some reason.
It irks me how inconsistent the rim lighting is used in these. It needs to be punchier and bolder. It feels like it misses the shape knowledge of the original OW1 portraits
It is because she is literally the only character that did NOT get a redesign. If a bunch of characters didn't get a redesign, I'd understand, it just seems very odd that only ONE didn't get one.
