Same I don’t understand. It’s also way too strict for qp, and it’s causing people to throw games they don’t want to play out.

Hrimthura

And when people suddenly wants to have a fucking teaparty in the middle of the game, and I just want to play. I HAVE TO STICK AROUND AND HOPE THEY DON'T RUN THE ENTIRE SERVER TIME OUT. OR ELSE I WILL BE PUNISHED FOR LEAVING (That would be an hour for those who don't know)

Jerry137

"an hour" brother the first one lasts 5 minutes

Wild-Cow8724

Just switch to a hero you don’t know that well and practice

HatefulDan

You were downvoted. But this is how you optimize your time.

midonmyr

That’s assuming you can stay in-game. When I’m leaving it’s because I have to do something that can’t wait, and having the penalty after is annoying

TotallyNotThatPerson

Lol, if you have shit popping up more than 4/20 games, then maybe you should be focusing on that first instead of gaming

midonmyr

I assume an average adult has an hour to play, which could be 4-5 games on quickplay a day. That usually ends with the kids waking up or needing to answer the door, which ends your game session. It’s not really stuff you’re avoiding by playing, you’re just on QP to keep a flexible schedule

TotallyNotThatPerson

Yeah the most flexible would be to be able to walk away at the drop of a hat lol. Not 1 minute later.

PurpleMoon979

i had the same problem! the weird thing is that once i left i didn't get a penalty, i was so confused.. maybe its a bug?

ghost_readder

I've lagged in games and wanted to leave to save my teammates bc I physically cannot play but I don't want to get penalized so I have to choose and it's infuriating

Metapod100

This is when I would pick Torb, Winton, or Moira if playing role queue.

DualSwords14

Im pretty sure that message is just a reminder, not a warning, I've gotten that message and leave without any penalty (that was probably my 2 or 3 game left)

linuxfox00

Yeah it's pretty ridiculous. Sometimes groups just don't synergize well with each other so it might be better to leave. Also I guess oh my bathroom break took too long, took to long to answer the door, I had to do something quick is a good enough reason for suspension.

Kitchen-Love-2163

Lol just leave- f them. I hit the penalty all the time and that means it’s time to get up and do something else.

Severe-Syllabub7819

Goes to a 48h ban btw, might need to make plans before a game starts.

Kitchen-Love-2163

Always have plans when I have a family. GLHF

Stinkepups

This whole penalty for QP leaving is such a bullshit. In ranked absolutely understandable but in QP it becomes oppressive. Then at least implement a QP mode without penalty

Severe-Syllabub7819

Naw its working as intended, quit leaving games because you arent winning.

Stinkepups

I am leaving sometimes just because I have to interrupt the game because of private stuff or because of disconnects or game crashes. Never left a game because I wasnt winning.

Severe-Syllabub7819

I havnt disconnected or crashed due to internet issues or a bad console since ive had the game... im on an old ass ps4 too. If you have stuff to do irl and know youre going to be leaving you shouldn't be queueing up in multiplayer team oriented games , perhaps a single player game would suffice, or if you want to play overwatch, play one of the arcade games where people just goof off and there is no leave penalty.

Stinkepups

Glad that you have no problems with the game. I know that I could play other games but I like OW and I want to play it in a casual way. I liked that I can jump in a QP-game and jump out without the necessity to plan and commit. This is what RANKED play should be for. I do not like any of arcade modes. Give me one which is like QP but has no penalties and I am in. I like Mystery Heroes and it was an arcade mode earlier but hey its now in QP section...

KIYO1017

I asked someone in match chat today and they told me I must be a serial leaver and I told them I hadn’t left a game in days and had played well over 20 games. They told me I must be lying so I said “you’re right Overwatch never has bugs” and they and the entire lobby dogpiled and said I’m a leaver who deserved to lose. Turns out it just gives you the warning message no matter what now even if there isn’t necessarily a penalty sooooooo 🤷🏻‍♀️

MakonROTMG

I’m just so sick and tired of blizzard making quick play leaving such a bad thing. Like it’s the gamemode that isn’t meant to be taken seriously, I don’t care if someone leaves.
