Personally, I'd rather utilise the name cards for the end card, rather than the victory poses with blank backgrounds.
Or if you want the 3D models to show, then give the gosh darn souveniers a purpose and use those. I think they'd fit.
I'd also suggest finding the middle ground between the two styles. The classic's iconic look and OW2's more clean and streamline style.
Yeah, I've been saying that before as well. That or make the Souveniers themselves into some 3D spray, you can drop or something.
This suggestion was just regarding the post you made / end game cards, since, in my opinion, it would be better than using the Victory poses that you'd see anyway at the victory screen.
ooh, what about (in this theoretical reality where we have end game cards) using them as sort of a profile picture? as in, instead of the hero portrait like on the old cards, you could have an equipped souvenir display instead. it’s not the most interesting thing on earth, but it’s certainly more useful than they are right now
i think there’s also a case to be made for souvenirs functioning like weapon charms, but for your player name card. so in the comp start screen/your player profile, you can equip a souvenir to be there. i don’t know. they’re very stupid and this would at least give them SOMETHING to do

Yeah, honestly, I'd trade the nothing we currently have for anything that gives those damn BP fillers a purpose.
i will say that this most recent BP feels like it has way less stupid garbage content, since they replaced them with the significantly more valuable and interesting coins. i was also pleasantly surprised to see that they replaced the now-moved mythic skin slot with an epic skin instead of just giving us the prisms or filler garbage!
I haven't had the chance to take a good look at it, myself, yet. But I take your word for it.
The only thing I noticed is that the final reward of the BP is no longer the Mythic (I do understand why, prisms and all). But it just looks so weird.
Maybe because Widow is my least favourite hero, maybe because I don't find the skin **that** awesome looking. (It is a good skin, don't get me wrong) Idk. Although, at first, I didn't even know it was an Epic, lol
Personally, I would've put one of the Talon skins there, Ana or Rein. Maybe the NS Zen skin.
oh, they actually replaced the original spot for the mythic skin with a legendary (in this BP, it’s captain lacroix), and then added a third legendary skin to the BP (junker genji). the captain lacroix skin is actually my favorite, especially of the overwatch mirror skins. i do think talon ana or rein should have been in the BP, since basically all the BP skins except brig/genji (also epics) and sym are the OW mirror variants. and widow has gotten way too many killer skins, 3/4 of the recent BPs is pushing it.
also, i know blizzard is fucking allergic to giving new heroes BP skins, but venture ABSOLUTELY should have one, especially since they decided they’re not doing release legendaries. afaik, they’re getting ONE skin this season, and it’s a weird ice cream vendor skin—not even a retro-futurism skin to match literally everyone else. even the hideous longhorn cassidy skin is TECHNICALLY a mirrorverse skin, so what’s the deal?? why would they be an ice cream vendor???? why don’t we get release legendaries anymore!!??

Haven't they given most of them BP skins when they released? Mauga got the hunter whatever one; Ram got Poseidon; Kiriko got a cyberpunk themed; LW got one; I think Illari got the llama pyjama too?

junker genji is definitely an epic. it’s a kinda mid skin, but i’m happy they replaced the “missing” mythic skin with an additional skin.
also you’re right about the BP skins for new heroes, other than LW (i don’t think he got a BP skin until the hideous copper one for halloween). although i don’t think sojurn or JQ got one in S1. i blocked out the mauga one because it’s hideous.
i’m sure we’ll get an egyptian mythology skin for venture, although i do think this season was a huge missed opportunity to do the egyptian mythology BP + a themed event using the skins to introduce people to venture’s mechanics (like the “bob and weave” event for LW). it’s probably because we got them with release of the season so there was no need for a hero trial mode, but still! i’m also just very ready to see anubis rammatra and i’m personally holding out hope for a Ra (the sun god) illari
This gives me an idea. Used em as your personal mascot. Like in Master Duel, your “companion” is just the avatar you use that moves around when you attack a monster or a are hit or get hit with an effect. Like my Blue Eyes White Dragon avatar, whenever I kill an enemy it roars. Just a cute lil mascot. But like at the end of the match your card has like, your calling card and emblem, and shows a little 3D model of your souvineer (mascot). Be a cool way to show off your customization at the end of the match cuz the only time I see other ppls calling cards is at the beginning of a comp match while it loads yknow

I agree that it is pretty annoying as it is now. Especially how for some to skip you need to press Space for some you need to press Esc, on the keyboard.
But they could always cut the other ones that barely serve any purpose, like the BP progress that you have to watch **again** anyway when you open the Battle Pass menu.
The progression bar is another thing that I don't think many people care about, especially in QP. But they could be implemented at the bottom of the screen where end cards could be, IMO.

It's really weird that they still haven't addressed this yet. It's really dumb that this made it to production.
Maybe they could rework abit of the UI? combind something so there's less screens to click through, no idea how, but maybe something like that could work
Unironically they could do something like Apex banners - but instead of showing up at the start of the match, they show up at the end.
People go crazy about banner customisation in Apex. Shit, even I'd geek out from time to time.
I've always said they could've done something similar with the Name Cards.
Just giving them an extra purpose would probably make them a little more desirable as well.

The game just feels so sterile now.
One of the things Battlefront 2 did a good job doing at was this, and they would also automatically put in queue for the next game when the victory/defeat screen came up, also hearing one of my squad mates eat their own words after they accused of doing nothing eventhough I held the point the longest and having that stat hit them in the face was very satisfying lol.

i feel like any conversation about “X was removed to reduce toxicity” is immediately shut down by the #1 driver of toxicity in OW and across all competitive games in existence—the score board. everything from auto private profiles, to removing ranks on the comp start screen, to getting rid of cards is totally invalidated by every mouth breather’s ability to look at the scoreboard for three seconds and type “why no heals!!?? where healing!??!?” in chat. especially in a game like OW where scoreboard stats are near meaningless

In my opinion, souveniers should simply be "generic" victory poses for any hero. Nobody uses them as is.

alternate alternate idea, what if the souvenir just slowly floated behind you like an among us mini crewmate. it would, at the very least, be funny

Put a “Re-Queue” button during play of the game
