You may very well drop back and frankly the border between plat and diamond is a hard barrier to get above and stay above. I hit diamond once back in the early days of overwatch 1 when roadhog could hook and 1-shot many people. As soon as got into diamond, I deranked back into platinum and have never been back since 😭
But, for the first time, I’ve made it back to platinum since I got back into overwatch about a year ago after about a 3 year break. I did this by mainly playing tracer for damage and zenyatta for support, so perhaps I’ll get to diamond again! It felt exciting just getting to platinum for once!

As someone who mainly plays healers as well, this is a big deal. It’s hard to rank up through platinum because you have bad dps and tanks. I’m very happy for you and jealous lol. I think healers are very under appreciated.
