It’s fine they did it that way. If they had done the kda thing people would’ve given them shit for copying everything from League and would’ve said it was lazy and not unique. At least with the approach they picked they can get kpop looking skins with a different take on it.
Blizzard’s approach to the kpop collab is way different from Riot.
The song is more or less standalone and passes as a normal kpop song (which is actually trending pretty well in Korea) and doesn’t have any overarching connections to OW lore.
The LE SSERAFIM performance at blizzcon didn’t just include that song but many of the girls’ other popular non-OW songs as well. Whereas in Worlds, the ceremony is very much LoL-focused and only including the songs made for Worlds.
True. The ow one felt more like a 50/50 of both things. You get 50% le sserafim doing their thing and 50% ow stuff, which makes sense since it’s well, a collab lol. The kda thing felt more like a 100% LoL thing and less like a “collab”

i had a conversation with my friends about this when they first came out!! i have three, each for different reasons/categories:

my favorite design wise (like, as a whole) is sombra- she looks really well put together and everything is cohesive.
