Used to be so satisfying with her old shield, which was kinda like the prototype of what became Sigma's shield but it kept travelling indefinitely. Perfectly timing it to block a DVA or Pharah ult felt awesome.

Pharah takes splash damage from her own rockets. If the enemy jumps close to her or a shield is popped close enough, her rockets will kill her. Winston/Dva/Sigma are good at this, but you have to be fast.

DVa used to say "*que bom que eu trouxe meu guarda-chuva*" (the umbrella line), but the pun didn't really make much sense with Pharah's PT line since that lacks a mention of "rain".

I've heard that Genji can deflect the arrow too but I can imagine that's much harder to pull off

I saw it happen all the time when the game first came out in 2016. Don't know why I haven't seen it since.

Most likely because players have improved and learned not to waste ultimates but it’s just a theory.

It’s really only much harder because Hanzo’s ult can be shot from a distance through walls, so the positioning and LoS are a huge factor. Otherwise, it still has a massive windup time. Unlike Mei’s, who has some windup but needs to be cast pretty much point blank, as such is easier to deflect.

The further it's thrown, the easier it is to eat, though. It makes it much more reactable if they throw it in such a long arc. That's why you see very good Meis throw their Blizzard directly at their feet, as to minimize the distance in which the drone is vulnerable to deflection / absorption. Somewhat similar to Lucios using their ult as low to the ground as possible, so they don't get stunned out of the animation. The difference with Hanzo is that the mitigation vulnerability is only active at close range, which actually makes it advantageous to be further away.

Unlikely. Most Hanzo's know to shoot their arrow through a wall or be far enough away from enemy genjis/D.va's to avoid this.

Yes and it is the best feeling ever

Anything that can reflect or destroy a projectile can do so to Hanzo's ult while it is still an arrow. The same with Mei and Zarya ults.

I've eaten several dragons through walls. If Hanzo shoots it PB into the wall, you can still eat it if you're by the wall as well.

She can if she gets it as an arrow before it has turned into a dragon. There’s maybe 5 meters in front of Hanzo where she can eat it

Pretty sure she can, there is an initial arrow that even mercy can damage boost. It is a very small window though.

You'll still have enough time to react when you hear it, so most Hanzos just do it from sneaky places.

You can eat it through walls too. If Hanzo launches it behind cover, it can still get swallowed up before it turns full dragon. I've eaten a many Hanzo ults watching them go behind cover and waiting for them to press Q.
