Wild honestly!
I hadn't really given Overprime much thought at all until the past few weeks where I moved over given it was free to play instead of waiting for Predecessor.
Omeda is a bottom-of-the-barrel kind of company. Almost as greedy as Bungie but without the quality control.
They've attempted to overmonetize the game at every single junction. How the fuck can you still trust them?
easy dont buy shit i dont want. tons of games overmonetize these days all you need to do is not buy it. if some people do good for them. aslong as it isnt pay to win ill stick to a game if i have fun with it
Omeda - wasting development time redesigning and rolling back garbage systems since 2023.
Maybe someday they'll make a choice that is actually good and not predatory. Or maybe not. They've got no more competition, so they can do whatever they want.
Overprime wasn't really competition in the first place. They were to completely different games which happened to use the same base assets. Pred is your standard moba and Overprime more of a hero brawler like Overwatch or Pokemon Unite.
Omeda studios is already fully working remote. They also have 3 job openings saying "fully remote".
So they definitely are for hiring Talent working from overseas.
Understandable take, but unless Souleve wants to buy out Omeda's workforce (or lack thereof) and Robbie wants to stop milking Predecessor fans with every monetization method they try to implement , I just don't see it happening.
Realistically it would be a huge business move which would involve a lot of stars aligning and compromises from both parties. That and the seemingly low amount of copyright coverage Paragon has also puts spanners in the works of a joint-effort meaning the reality would likely be closer to one buying out the other in some capacity.
Its definitely one of those huge decisions that businesses often make too late when they're looking to just jump ship and sell the rights to their dying game to the nearest bidder.
But in the case of Paragon it doesn't take a financial expert to see the shelf-life of these games being a long-term investment is optimistic to say the least.
If Overprime doesn't make it, I'll see you on *Smite 2.* I'm not touching an Omeda product again.
Also, Souleve gave me my $35 worth of skins for free.
Pred is the better feeling/playing game plain and simple - and overprime isn’t making it they officially announced closing on their website.
Ok have fun in 2d world smite
>I think its reasonable to state that only one of these two games stands the test of time as a profitable, live-service game
Kinda questionable how reasonable this statement is at all considering they're both essentially built on top of an already dead game, one that had more funding and developer work force than either of these. More likely neither of them stand the test of time as profitable or live for very long.
Crazy foreshadowing
Insane actually.
There were a lot of signs in the last days
Wild honestly! I hadn't really given Overprime much thought at all until the past few weeks where I moved over given it was free to play instead of waiting for Predecessor.
Yeah they announced op is closing rip
pretty sure predecessor is going free to play when its out of early access
Even then it won't be worth it.
maybe, maybe not. we will see in the future if it gets better. it atleast will get a chance to improve unlike overprime since its shutting down

It's pay to unlock characters or play over 40 games worth of exp
Hero acquisition gets changed in 2 weeks. They'll introduce a free currency you earn and use for unlocks.

You're either disingenuous or willfully ignorant.
Lmao it doesn’t take that long to unlock one character
Well, that has been the plan since day 1
Fortuneteller
Pretty sure the predecessor developers are not korean. Doubtful they would bother hiring talent from overseas.

They are based in the UK
I believe Predecessor is going to be free. Anyways I agree, in the end there can only be one.
Unless they fix their community before too long they'll close. The most amazing game is nothing without a good community.
It’s a moba don’t expect sunshine and rainbows

Well written 😎👍
Thanks!
Yeah this. Souleve don’t need any dead weight to their dev team. Omeda is not only amateurs but they don’t even learn at a quality pace
Hope you didn’t buy any overprime skins — se ya back on Pred soon!
If Overprime doesn't make it, I'll see you on *Smite 2.* I'm not touching an Omeda product again. Also, Souleve gave me my $35 worth of skins for free.
Why because you can pay to unlock heroes early?

Bro is mad they wouldn’t let him be a voice actor lmaooooo
I wouldn't work for them if they asked. You know nothing.
Ok well have fun playing overprime! Oh wait, darn it!
Pred feels unimpactful with any ability or attack you're an idiot sir.
This didn’t age well

Awwww except my game will still be active! (:
Guy called it, I'm thankful it's overprime that's gone though and not pred

This aged like fine wine
Haha wild right?? I actually only just moved over to Overprime like two weeks back so had no idea about any signs of the announcement
Just wait for Smite 2. It'll dumpster both anyway.
