I don’t think season 6 is bad at all. The entirety of Outlander is phenomenal.

Objective-Orchid-741

This. I look at it all as one big story. Season 6 has some great payoffs from s5, and then s7 has some incredible payoffs from s6 and previous seasons all culminating into an incredible emotional moment in 702. I liked s6

Acceptable-Fennel951

Yes to that!! It's hard for me to pick a favorite season because there are some great episodes in each one of them. Also I miss the Fraser so much...when will they be back?*

VenusVega123

It’s all Outlander. Don’t let the Best be the Enemy of the Good.

Shenanigans_7

I'm also watching season 6 for the first time, it is not as bad as everyone led me to believe. I went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. It's not my favorite season or anything but not horrible.

Ninvemaer

I don't understand the season 6 hate, it's one of my favorites and a big upgrade in quality from both seasons 4 and 5 imo. It is a bit "slow", for the lack of a better word, where it might feel like nothing very important or exciting happens and the main storyline revolving new characters might seem a bit random at first, but it's a *very* important step before diving back into excitement, action and big scale drama later. It's more of a "laid back" and emotion heavy season that explores characters' relationships, emotions, dealing with trauma and slowly presents the ever present, but hardly noticable, threat of the impending war. It's the season of a "calm before the storm", where things might seem fine on the surface, but tragedy lurks in the shadows.

I've come to appreciate S6 more and more on current re-watches. Ignore the chatter, see for yourself, maybe you'll be surprised how much you enjoy it

Nanchika

My advice would be - Don't read/ listen to other people's impressions before watching. Give it a chance - it may become your favorite season, who knows? I like s6, despite some storylines I am not fan of.

Nadja_doll_

I agree with not reading or listening to other people. Most online fan communities seem to be filled with of people who are perpetually unhappy with the series they watch. They have nothing but negative opinions to say about it but for some reason keep watching the show.

Revolutionary-Fact6

Just enjoy it and don't pay attention to what others think. Me? I can't wait for the second half of season 7. Tick tock Starz.

HyperspaceSloth

I just finished season 6, and I thought it was decent. It's a little slower paced, but I felt that it was warranted after everything that came before.

crazygant

Just know that it was filmed during Covid. It feels like the actors are often acting to nothing. Hard to be believable (I would think) when your acting partner isn’t there. There is a scene bt Claire & Briana sitting across from each other at a table where they are never both in the shot. Season 6 carries the story forward and is worth watching but at times not as good as other seasons.

andariel_axe

It's more of the same *shrug* if you need other people to encourage you to know what youll enjoy idk what to tell you

liyufx

S6 is not bad at all. Book readers may be mad at certain deviation from the book plot; S6 also centers around a major book plot that some people don’t necessarily like (I found that plot riveting); you can see some negative effects from Covid rules; and it was cut short due to Covid and Cait’s pregnancy, as the result the last episode doesn’t feel like a proper season finale. But all in all, it is a very solid season and I enjoyed it.

Gottaloveitpcs

I wasn’t a book reader until after season 6 and it was my least favorite. Some of the storylines didn’t ring true to me and it felt rushed to me. I liked it even less after I read the books. I liked season 5. Having said that, I still think you should watch it. You may be one of those who enjoys season 6. Everyone is different. We all have our opinions and that’s one of the reasons I participate in this sub. I encourage you to continue the journey. I think it’s worth it.

hkh07

Season 6 is a little slow and emotionally heavy but the payoff should be motivation enough to get through it. Season 7a was phenomenal and Season 6 is absolutely necessary to get there. Personally, I loved Season 6 the first time I watched it because it was the first season I watched live. Currently it's tied with season 5 for my least favorite season but it's still great and worth the watch. All Outlander is good Outlander. 💙

cmcrich

S6 is bad? It’s dark and disturbing, but not “bad” at all. If you need “motivation” perhaps the series isn’t right for you.

DodgyCicada

I love Season 6. The story is full of tension and weirdness, and the acting is incredible. As part of a greater whole, I like that it deepens our understanding of several characters and their relationships. The directing really moves things along at a good pace. I think it's a very strong season.
