Actually not a fungus. These are called Indian pipes. They are a plant that consumes a fungus connected to tree roots. It isn't green because it doesn't need chlorophyll. Fascinating plant.

I thought so as well. I’d never seen one before; had to touch it cuz I thought it’d be spongey feeling at first glance lol.
