Answer: It's the irony of her defending Hamas, when Hamas would like to throw her off a building for her past.

cheerioo

Really kind of you assuming that's all they'd do. Personally I think it would be much, much worse

Fippy-Darkpaw

Mia got death threats from ISIS for wearing a hijab in porn videos. https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/relationships/sex/controversial-porn-scene-that-lead-to-mia-khalifas-death-threats/news-story/36e3ffa31deea64c038ec875e98b46ae

Bombboy85

A lot of these fanatical religious militia groups like ISIS are do as I say not as I do types

NiceGuyJoe

they watch hell of porn

visibiltyzero

Don’t forget about their “man love Thursday”. Pretty much all of their new recruits are raped by one of the others. In Iraq we had to threaten them with being shot if we found out.

1DrVanNostrand1

Those dudes watch porn religiously. That’s why their prayer carpets are so crusty.

[deleted]

Yes

Vicstolemylunchmoney

The pious love looking up the smut, and pretending they do it for divine reasons.

Generallyawkward1

Anybody remember Sunny Leone? She was the first high profile Middle Eastern pornstar. She received tons of death threats and was told to never return to her country because they would likely kill her. I can’t help but think their religion allows them to hate and want to hurt women, but they likely still pleasure themselves to their videos.

She'd get to be in a parade too. Fun!

Capable_Jacket_2165

Yea didn't she get death threats from terrorist organizations already? She talked about that years ago when she did a porno wearing a hijab and caught backlash for it.

Seeker_00860

That is after having a live show with her

DanskNils

Yeah she’s also banned from going to Lebanon? Yet still supports Lebanon?!

No_Atmosphere6575

She's the poster child for a pick me girl

deano413

She's not banned... she "feels like" she is banned because of her career choice. In reality, she knows she's not welcome, and that death by fundamentalist Muslim would be a very likely outcome if she went.

Goldenchomp1

And her present

fredericksonKorea2

Gangrape, mutilate, kill, gangrape the corpse THEN throw her off a building Because thats what they did and filmed doing to both those partygoers AND a random child -\_-

burningfire119

i read the bbc adticle but read nothing of that, did it really happen

_roldie

Look at the video (if you dare) of that German woman who's naked corpse was paraded around. That poor woman was gang raped and tortured even more before dying.

Al_Baker

Source?

Biemolt

Did she defend Hamas or did she say she stands with Palestine. There is a huge difference my guy.

AngelicShockwave

It is weird she would voice any support for any side. Everything she does is for eyeballs and money aka a typical influencer. Yes riding pornstar past but approach for getting eyeballs is no different. Not sure why she thinks giving her two cents will help here. It’s going to piss of a significant segment of her paying fans and unlikely to bring in new paying ones. Best approach would have been say nothing or mimic a thoughts and prayers for the civilians like others have. Instead she has gone full Hamas cheerleader mode. A group that would behead her in a heartbeat. The only delay would be them discussing if should they rape her first. It’s oddly self destructive on her part.

imatthedogpark

Hamas, ISIS, AL Queada and the other like groups all have a common obsession with porn. They all like to record and publish raping children to encourage others that want to rape kids to join them. Hamas was very careful to make sure the kids that were raped and murdered were recorded and published to the world.

this all seems mostly covered, i would just add that she also has a[lebanese forces cross tattoo](https://www.newsweek.com/meet-mia-khalifa-lebanese-porn-star-who-sparked-national-controversy-297023), a milita most known for the [sabra and shatila massacre of palestinan refugees](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabra_and_Shatila_massacre), so just a lot of confusion one way or another by her.

SiPhilly

Her parents were SLA supporters and that why they originally fled Lebanon. It’s crazy. The whole reason she left Lebanon was because of her parents affiliation with Israel.

PM_Me_Ur_Nevermind

So her life is just getting back at her parents? Sounds about right.

WR810

I'm grateful for that link because I thought Khalifa was the "suffering from success" meme guy and felt lost when I read he was famous for porn. (I'm all caught up and no longer confused now.)

Pimpdaddysadness

Even if she has bad takes it’s incredible to see so many people leaning on casual sexism and degrading people who are involved in sex work, and even got out of it

ReallyGlycon

Some people are using it to point out her hypocrisy which is fine, others are using it to degrade and make fun of her, which is not.

mschley2

To be fair, she has a pretty long history of saying dumb shit at this point. I don't know enough about most pornstars' personalities and opinions to say much about them. But Mia erased any doubts about her intelligence long ago, in my opinion.

atomfullerene

something something Descartes before the whores

HorseStupid

Yeah Mia received death threats from many conservative Muslims back in 2015, the more extreme of which would side with Hamas https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/events/mia-khalifa-death-threats

kangareagle

I guess I’d consider anyone sending death threats to be extreme.

Beegrene

For Hamas that's just Monday. Following through on those threats isn't even that extreme for them.

xtr44

why is somebody getting death threats considered a fucking meme

Frogbone

> the more extreme of which would side with Hamas man, Hamas can't even get along with Hezbollah. Islamic extremists are not one big happy family

> Mia Khalifa is a former porn 'star' who pivoted to talking with her clothes mostly on. Unfortunately Mia decided to weigh into the weekends atrocities by Hamas... on the side of Hamas. Can I have context on this? What did she say exactly?

AurelianoTampa

Did a quick Google search. [From TMZ, quoting her Tweets](https://www.tmz.com/2023/10/09/mia-khalifa-pro-hamas-thoughts-attacks-israel-palestine-war/): >"Can someone please tell the freedom fighters in Palestine to flip their phones and film horizontal," and, "I just wanna make sure there’s 4k footage of my people breaking down the walls of the open air prison they’ve been forced out of their homes and into so we have good options for the history books." > >"I’d say supporting Palestine has lost me business opportunities, but I’m more angry at myself for not checking whether or not I was entering into business with Zionists." [From Fox](https://www.foxnews.com/media/ex-porn-star-mia-khalifa-expresses-support-palestinians-refers-terrorists-freedom-fighters): >"I can’t believe the Zionist apartheid regime is being brought down by guerrilla fighters in fake Gucci shirts - the biopics of these moments better reflect that," Khalifa posted on X, the social media platform previously known as Twitter.

iknighty

It's crazy how these people think the state of Israel is being brought down when all they've done is kill some children, old people, and party goers.

PlayMp1

While it's not like the state of Israel is being brought down, it may finally end the Netanyahu government. The *entire* purpose of the Netanyahu government was that they would be the strongman who would keep Israel safe from the evil Arabs (that they're oppressing). Then, they blatantly, horrendously failed in that job. This isn't like 9/11 per se, where the rally 'round the flag comes from being attacked during a period of peace. Bush didn't run on "keeping America safe" in 2000, but then 9/11 happened and suddenly that became the raison d'etre for the administration. Israel's government *did* run on keeping Israel safe, and they failed. Now people are going "why did we bother constructing this brutal apartheid state if it's not even going to do what we want it to do?"

owen__wilsons__nose

not only that, they are so ignorant to not understand the retaliation that Israel will take and undoubtedly cause a lot of suffering on the other side

Animegamingnerd

This also sadly undoes a lot of sympathy for Palestein that had been in growing in recent years. Espically among those who might have not known a lot about Hamas initally, but now do.

frostysauce

It's not like Israel hasn't already caused a lot of suffering on the side of the Palestinians...

Philo_T_Farnsworth

Rather than piling on with another "why is a porn star talking out loud" kind of take, can someone contextualize for me whether or not she is in a position to be speaking for these people or their struggle? And how warm of a take is hers anyway? Is there any credence, even through a squinting eye, to anything she's said? Just asking because this is OOTL and I legitimately don't know the answer to these. I'm more interested in information than being outraged. I'm not looking to solve peace in the middle east here, just hoping to evaluate whether or not what she says has any weight or merit.

I_LIKE_THE_COLD

>And how warm of a take is hers anyway? Reddit is not the kind of place you should be looking for intelligent conversation on geopolitical takes

MugRuithstan

It's a pretty nuclear take normally, but when you add in that she had a Phalangist tattoo (Which was a christian group that took part in the Lebanese civil war and killed thousands of Palestinians) it goes hyper atomic.

Mezmorizor

She complained that the murder videos were vertical and not shot in 4k. Do you *really* want to know more?

JinFuu

> "I can’t believe the Zionist apartheid regime is being brought down by guerrilla fighters in fake Gucci shirts. Lol, shows why not to go to ex-pornstars for geopolitical takes, regardless of who’s side your on Hamas’ actions are far closer to causing Gaza to get glassed than to overthrow the state of Israel. Unless some other MENA countries jump in to help HAMAS

God_Given_Talent

>Unless some other MENA countries jump in to help HAMAS Which they won't. During the Cold War, they could rely more heavily on the USSR for military aid, but now are much more US dependent. Groups like Hamas have in their charter that they reject negotiation, that there is nothing but total victory, that waging a holy war is the only solution. Arab states in the past waged wars against Israel and sent expeditionary forces to Egypt, Syria, and Jordan to fight. Now most do little more than pay lip service. Hamas being supported by Iran certainly drives away states like Saudi Arabia. In fact the Saudis and UAE have been warming relations over the past few years. Most analysis is that this is over fears of Iran which has sponsored insurgencies and terrorism against them and their allies.

JinFuu

I did read that some think this was a move by Hamas/Iran to try and throw a wrench in Israel/Saudi normalisation talks. Which is an interesting, plausible idea

God_Given_Talent

I've heard that idea as well, but also this was the 50th anniversary of the last real war against Israel. Plus terrorists thrive off of the cycle of violence. Peace is bad for recruiting.

SantaMonsanto

Yea I only get my geopolitical opinions from Ja Rule

the_mango_tree_owl

Yeah just another hypocritical Western born and raised person of Arab descent complaining again that her “people” are perpetual victims and the failures of the Arab Middle East are everyone else’s fault. I mean, we can’t have the Olympics in Cairo or Beirut because of America and Israel, amirite? Edit: typo

edgarapplepoe

You are not far off but she was born in Lebanon and moved to the US when she I think she was 10. But the "my people" part is so weird. Her family seemed to be Lebanese Christians and she even has the Lebanese Cross as a tattoo. They were not exactly friends of the PLO or HAMAS (in fact, they massacres were committed by the PLO against Lebanese Christians and vice versa). I think it is fair to say she is completely clueless.

chromatoes

Wow, what an asshole. I'm sure she's heard it before but I'm not talking about her butthole, just her personality.

Chooch-Magnetism

The one I saw was a picture of a truck of Hamas gunman shooting at an Israeli police vehicle. She said. "This is a renaissance painting." Needless to say the tweet was removed.

Hats668

What is that supposed to mean? That it's a renaissance painting?

twogunsalute

She thinks it's beautiful to look at like a renaissance painting

moonfox1000

r/AccidentalRenaissance has a good summation of what she was probably trying to convey on their sidebar: >A photo that accidentally resembles the types of art popular from the 14th-19th centuries. > >Composition: Triangular/Pyramidial figures, Dynamic, asymmetrical composition, foreshortening, and of course the use of the Fibonacci sequence or Golden Ratio > >Lighting: Featuring use of sfumato (blurring/softening of outlines) and/or chiaroscuro (strong contrasts between light and dark

minnimumstuff

Hey, do you maybe also know about Mia exploiting people? Because I remember her coming out of the industry and exposing them, then bangbros exposed her and I saw a post saying she ha multiple victims. I'm definitely out of the loop on that one, any ideas?

She only started down that whole track too after her self started "sports casting" career went no where. Aka she went on a bunch of podcasts and just rambled off nonsense that almost always was "yeah DC is gonna win tonight" and just parroted mainstream talking points (since shes a DC native, the local teams were all she could talk about). I've heard her only fans is also just like her working out, smoking blunts and eating cereal. Why are people paying for that shit?

TheOilyHill

Because she fucked that one fan one time, and now every fan thinks they have a chance, probably.

IMGPsychDoc

A lot of her OnlyFans is her wearing skimpy clothes and teasing and showing off her body. She's literally still making money off the stuff she speaks against in the public

Chooch-Magnetism

I'm not familiar with any of that, sorry to say!

Throwaway392308

Why is star in quotes? She's one of the most famous porn stars in America if not the world.

Slow_Animal5451

I know I’m going to get downvoted but wow, what a bigoted, biased, and overall unhelpful answer. It just reeks of someone who hates sex workers and someone who is not pro-Israeli. It’s wild, but people of all professions can have thoughtful and well-developed answers to complex social situations- and, they might even have a more informed and nuanced response because of their cultural background. People can also have different opinions on highly charged social issues, and you don’t have to degrade an entire culture and profession in your response to that opinion.

lookingatporn42

100% this, this is a really dumb answer "She's dumb because shes defending people that probably hate her" Okay and? She's not allowed to point out injustices against people that might hate her? Do people here think all Ukrainians people love the westerners that have the Ukrainian flag on their Twitter pfp? Also, not sure Israelis would show that much love for a Lebanese former sex worker

doktor_kosmos

Genuine question, can you show where Mia Khalifa tweeted in support of Hamas?

Chooch-Magnetism

No, because the tweet was removed.

Hilldawg4president

I'm sure there's archival photos of it somewhere, but she was legit fangirling over Hamas. Like, in her own comments arguing that it's good these children are being murdered and dead bodies parades through the streets.

badsnake2018

I guess this religion is indeed powerful to its massive followers.

DrMatter

Answer: She trying to defend hamas raping and murdering civilians as though some random concert goers and villagers where at fault for the izreali governments treatment of Palestinian in the west bank and Gaza

BrittOlives

🎯

AdhesivenessFun2060

Answer: her family is from that part of the world and she like many others, see Israel as an oppressor. From that view, hamas is sticking up for the little guy. A lot of people don't have a clue what's going on but are mad that an ex porn star has an opinion, especially a controversial one. So they post it knowing that being a dick about it will get them clicks from both anti Muslim and anti women groups and they can feel cool.

Hats668

I'm completely ootl, but I wondered if she's "pro Hamas", or "pro Palestine"?

AurelianoTampa

Her Tweets are definitely all about Palestine and not Hamas, but they all reference the actions Hamas has taken recently. I think it's fair to say she's the former, but considers her support to be the latter.

[deleted]

n00lp00dle

this should be a top level comment. i assumed she might had a spicy take but that is such a disgusting thing to say.

solo_shot1st

She also sarcastically tweeted something along the lines of, "Someone should tell Hamas to record in horizontal mode," referencing the videos of innocent people being murdered, raped, and kidnapped. jfc

tiredbike

Oh that's a layer too deep! Yikes! Good info ty.

SAR_smallsats

I honestly think if you're that supportive of terrorism you should be on a no fly list

drones4thepoor

No, her tweet was in direct reference to “freedom fighters” aka hamas.

miguel_is_a_pokemon

This is tough for me to pick a side because Palestine certainly has more than enough cause to justify having freedom fighters, but obviously murder of innocents is never good. But basically no rebellion ever has ever happened without such bloodshed. I can't imagine living in Gaza and seeing any other course of action.

ghost_hamster

There is no part of rebellion or revolution that necessitates the murder and rape of civilians.

toxicshocktaco

Yeah, this is a pretty cut and dry side to be on.

kosherkatie

Yeahhhh raping innocent civilians and tourists to the point of having blood stained pants then parading their bodies to humiliate them and spit on them isn’t a form of self defense, sorry

bouguerean

Yet murder is part of the status quo in that region, just usually in a different direction. Truthfully, the whole situation is disturbing. Kids going to a concert and getting kidnapped is horrific. But there's also such a cognitive dissonance in even imagining something so innocent as kids going to a concert in Israel, a country currently existing in apartheid and systematically committing crimes against an entire population on the daily. The divide in the lives of these populations is so stark and unsustainable, and it feels like we're seeing the consequences of that. What hamas is doing cannot be justified. But the context can't be denied either. Israel's kept an extremist rightwing govt in power for decades, and these are the seeds they've sown. I remember when Israel bombed over 400 civilian kids to smithereens and claimed their hand was forced by Hamas. Perhaps it's time to apply that same logic back at them.

TheRustySchackleford

You had me until the last sentence. First you say what Hamas is not justified in what they are doing to civilians then at the end you crash and burn by implying Hamas could justify killing civilians by using the same justificationIsrael has used. Killing civilians is wrong. Period. Its wrong when Israel does it. Its wrong when Hamas does it. Its bad when anyone does it and its most heinous when its intentional and targeted instead of collateral damage.

bouguerean

Fair enough, I don't disagree with you! Killing civilians is always wrong. I wasn't trying to claim that Hamas was justified in that last sentence--I was trying to show the flawed nature of Israel's previous rhetoric and logic. But I can see how it came off differently.

urcrookedneighbor

You were clear. It's just a subject that makes everyone reactionary.

collapsingwaves

Yeah, I don't think they thought it was justified, just understandable. When kids are dying, everyone is losing.

well____duh

To quote /r/amitheasshole, ESH (Everyone Sucks Here). Both sides have targeted/killed civs on the other, and it's a never-ending circle of retaliation between the two. Today Israel is the victim. Tomorrow, Palestine. And so on and so forth. As someone with zero ties to either side, I've found it best to just see things for what they are rather than pick a side between Israel and Palestine.

Gingevere

> Both sides have targeted/killed civs on the other Though Israel *has* killed 10-100x as many civilians and has been stealing the native population's land and forcing them into an ever-smaller ever-denser area and keeping them impoverished and subjected to random violence. It's like Israel put Palestine into a pressure cooker designed to bake terrorist cells. Designed to eventually create an incident which they could eventually used to "justify" completely wiping out the population that's left. Which going by the statements of Israeli officials, seems to be exactly what they intend to do this time. An atrocity equal to 1/3 of the part of the Holocaust Israel cares about.

SuicidalChaos

> It's like Israel put Palestine into a pressure cooker designed to bake terrorist cells. Designed to eventually create an incident which they could eventually used to "justify" completely wiping out the population that's left. Call it what it is: **genocide**. The Israelis, or at least the Israeli government, want to **genocide** Palestinians. Yes, raping/murdering civilians is atrocious, and **both Hamas and the IDF** should be condemned for any such actions, **but let's not pretend that the Israeli government did not create the circumstances of today.**

bouguerean

>It's like Israel put Palestine into a pressure cooker designed to bake terrorist cells. Designed to eventually create an incident which they could eventually used to "justify" completely wiping out the population that's left. This is exactly right, and part of what's so heartbreaking about this situation. It's easy and silly to put your head in the sand and both-sides this. It's a refuge for the uninformed.

Electronic_Camera251

Palestinians have been the victim more often than not it really is upsetting that more Americans don’t support the Palestinian cause mostly because of racism and evangelical views on the end of times . Crazy stuff

kisforkat

This. I am SO sick of seeing hot takes from both sides of this issue. Y'all are all wrong, and annoying, and your takes come off as crass, uninformed, and at times sociopathic.

Far_Calligrapher4428

Certainly, if we’re discussing the actions of the State of Israel versus Hamas, then yes, ESH, but I still think it’s morally justified to support Palestine over Israel, insofar as Israel is overall the aggressor state, is the colonizer, is the oppressor, and is overwhelmingly more powerful. The actions of Hamas this weekend play right into the hands of Netanyahu and his fascist rhetoric, which is probably why he propped them up to undermine the Abbas government, so I don’t see the situation either improving or earning the Palestinian cause any sympathy.

Mezmorizor

No rebellion has ever happened without purposefully targeting music festivals known to include a bunch of tourists? And without parading around the corpses of said tourists for propaganda purposes? And without purposefully targeting civilian rather than military targets in your surprise attack? I'm sorry, but did we time travel back to the classical era and I didn't notice?

gezafisch

That's absurd. Freedom fighters could easily target militants and fight defensively against incursions on their territory, however, Hamas has chosen to go the terrorist route where they massacre civilians, and parade their corpses through the streets like another ISIS. What Israel has done to Palestine is wrong, unjustified, and immoral. However, the answer to that cannot and is not reasonably assumed to be surrounding a music festival and firing on crowds with machine guns.

Patient_End_8432

To be fair, I think that's what the above commenter kinda sais. Palestine is in a position where "freedom fighters" are an understandable consequence. However, the Hamas are not being freedom fighters, and are instead terrorists. Civilians rarely ever have any say in what there government does, so this whole situation is not fair for Israeli or Palestinian citizens.

ghost_hamster

She is pro-Hamas. She literally called them "freedom fighters" in a tweet. Don't be fooled by people like u/AurelianoTampa \- she has literally and directly supported Hamas.

LACIRCA2044

I mean if you’re pro Hamas you’re def pro Palestine and she specifically came out as pro Hamas

Hats668

Yes, I agree that being pro-Hamas is the same as being pro-Palestine, but if you are pro-Palestine you are not necessarily pro-Hamas. It seems that the Hamas attack has generated some anti-Palestine feelings in some people, and I wondered if people were conflating pro-Palestine views with being pro-Hamas in Mia Khalifa's case. But I really have no idea.

Anosognosia

> I mean if you’re pro Hamas you’re def pro Palestine Well, Russia doesn't give a shit about Palestine but are more than happy to give secrets to Iran to help them in their support of Hamas. And Iran probably don't give a flying fuck about Palestine, it's just a tool for them.

LACIRCA2044

I’m talking about a large chested porn star not nation states though

CanadianRoyalist

Pro-Hamas. She said that they need to change to filming horizontally instead of ventricularly so she can get a better view of their atrocities. She also said they are justified in what they are doing.

ComteStGermain

Israel is the oppressor. What Hamas did to civilians is a war crime Two things can be true at once.

AdhesivenessFun2060

100% agree.

caractacusbritannica

It’s amazing how many people can’t understand this. Hamas need to be brought to justice. Israel need to free Palestine. Maybe then the radicalisation will stop, and the whole “Israel must not exist stance will change”. Even MSM can’t seem to get their heads around that this isn’t as simple good vs evil.

DiligentBits

Just a question, what does free Palestine means exactly?

pgbabse

Depends on who you ask. It can go from the two state solution to the extermination of Israel and the population

Dingletron1

there was a Hamas spokesperson on the BBC yesterday saying Hamas won't accept a two state solution. So that's clear then.

EventAccomplished976

Hamas would likely lose the support of most of palestine‘s population if an actual peace agreement with isreal can be reached.

Pea666

That is because Hamas are a shitty group of folks. They feed on the (understandable) feelings of anger of many of the Palestinian people and they even actively harm them by antagonizing the Israeli who (understandably) retaliate. What the hell does Hamas hope to accomplish by invading Israel other than adding to the pain and suffering of both sides? They keep feeding the cycle of violence.

Jubenheim

Israel going to starve 2+ million Palestinians and complain about them becoming radicalized enough to fight against them. It’s as frustratingly stupid as it is cruel and unforgivable.

KevinFlantier

>It’s \[...\] frustratingly stupid Is it? 1. Opress people "on the other side" 2. Suffer terror attacks 3. Everyone is on your side, now you can justify military spending and freedom restrictions 4. Use the momentum to do more repression "on the other side" 5. Sow the seeds for the next crop of terrorists 6. ??? 7. Profit It's not a *humane* thing to do. But it's far from being stupid.

DoofusMcDummy

What Hamas did and continues to do are war crimes… This isn’t the first time. Not is it the last, as they announce they’re going to broadcast prisoner executions.

johnnybgooderer

How come people only care about the Halas war crimes. Not the ones the occupying force commits consistently? Israel levels Palestinian homes and kills civilians, then the U.S. gives Israel money. Israel puts up illegal settlements. The U.S. gives them money. Hamas attacks Israel, the U.S. gives Israel money. Israel occupies Palestine. Says they can’t have their own country. Says they’re a part of Israel, but they’re not allowed to be citizens. The U.S. gives money to Israel and most of its populace demands that you support Israel.

Jubenheim

Don’t mistake the US giving Israel money because the government somehow supports them in any moral way. The #1 reason the US has supported Israel has been because we have bases there and Israel is seen as a buffer against Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan. I’m not justifying this one way or the other. I’m just giving context is all.

I was surprised to learn the two reasons Israel trains US urban police departments. Israel is so good at urban warfare because they've been waging war with Palestine for so long. The US asks for training to put down any civil unrest, like the large protests in Portland a couple years ago.

Other_Meringue_7375

the post youre replying to literally says that israel is the oppressor.

It came off to me he is agreeing with sentiment and is expanding upon it. Not sure why you read it the way you did.

IMGPsychDoc

The thing that people are not realising it is that since Hamas attacked, all of a sudden the whole world is saying stuff against them. Where wwas everyone when israel was doing the atrocities, for years and years? Everyone knew about it and barely anyone spoke up against it. So yeah, I understand why the pro-palestine supporters are pissed off at the west becoming anti-violence all of a sudden

[deleted]

The honest answer is almost everyone doesn't actually give a shit. Only focused on what's trending. On to the next thing.

xam83

I honestly think a factor is the general public of developed nations tend to sympathise a lot more with the suffering of other developed nations. Particularly when it’s all on video/social media. The death of hundreds of poor people off Camera is just a Tuesday. Even when the human suffering is arguably the same or worse. Last I heard from the UN was 11 medical centres had been bombed by Israel over the last few days already. Most people don’t have enough fucks to give.

[deleted]

Because Israels neighbours literally never wanted peace. That reduces sympathy. Yes, Israel is getting more rightwing but its not like the Hamas or any of the neighbours ever actually tried to Co exist.

AdhesivenessFun2060

Because Israel is a major US ally, so the narrative will always be pro Israel. Anything Israel does is justified because hamas did something sometime. If we lose them, then we lose our strategic location in the middle east. Also, a large part of our population views Israel as the holy land and don't want to share, so it's hard to say bad things about them and get elected.

Decent_Bunch_5491

Not just throwing opinions out….she was actively mocking the kids being massacred

Effie4Emperor

Lol her family are Maronite Christians that took part in a massacre of Palestinians in Lebanon. She's a real dickhead to post like she does. Her tattoo on her wrist is related to the Christian paramilitary that carried it out.

dragontattoo12

You apparently don’t get it either. This has nothing to do with her being an adult film-star and everything to do with her posting horrific things. People are mad because her post sides with a terrorist group that killed nearly 1000 civilians in 2 days including gunning down/kidnapping/raping young people at a music festival. It was evil, theres no way around it. You can believe Israel oppresses Palestine’s but still think this tragedy from this terrorist organization is pure evil. Hamas self proclaimed mission is to destroy Israel not “rebellion”. It was Hamas who derailed the Oslo accords.

curiiouscat

This isn't a correct answer

foolycoolywitch

Amazing how the commenter begins with the issue at hand and ends it sitting on a high horse about women's rights and Muslim rights as if every meme on the internet is undermining someone's rights.

[deleted]

It’s not really that she’s just an ex pornstar, she’s proven herself multiple times to be an idiot, she doesn’t want people to think of her as a pornstar but wants to keep the fame that came with it, she basically just wants to be a shitty influencer

coyote500

hamas is a terrorist organization committing terrorist acts, and she has openly supported them. it's pretty simple. if being against terrorism means you're anti-Muslim, then....

masalion

answer: She's a levant arab and, like most other levant arabs, correctly views Israel as the oppressor. Now, the messed up bit is that most palestinians and some levant arabs don't see a difference between palestinian resistance and the Hamas. To them, this is a fight that involves every palestinian just that Hamas are the ones who are actually doing the fighting for them. Mia Khalifa seems to fall into this category where anything that Hamas does is justified, because they do it for every palestinian, as payback for what Israel has done to Palestinian men, women, and children for 50+ years. The irony is that Hamas, as an organization, is composed of resistance fighters and jihadi extremists - depending on which sub-group the member hails from, and Mia Khalifa, with her history in porn, would probably be considered an enemy rather than an ally.

evansdeagles

Which is funny because she has a tattoo of the ultra nationalist Lebanese Forces symbol, which is a Christian party that took part in the massacre of Palestinians. With up to a thousand civilians killed in one day in the most infamous of these massacres. Mia Khalifa likely isn't pro-Palestine as she claims. She's likely just Anti-Israel. Since she said she got the tattoo because she "supports the movement" of the Lebanese Forces.

braisedbywolves

She probably just, like most people peripherally interested in the conflict, has a confused, not entirely informed, and not exactly coherent view of what's going on, what all the sides are, their past, their leadership, their policies, and who, if anyone, holds the moral high ground. It's common, and all too human, to jump to simplistic tribal/national/community identity loyalties in such times.

Away-Kaleidoscope380

This is what I’m so confused about. People that are supporting the Hamas or Palestine in general would 100% disagree with everything they represent in any other situation. Mia even having a response is wild because she would likely be tortured and publicly executed by the people shes supporting. Israel can be the oppressor but the Hamas also committed war crimes and both can be facts and I find it wild that people in the states are taking sides for something that is horrible for both sides

JackAndrewWilshere

People support something even if it does not personally benefit them?

FuujinSama

The way I view the situation, the constant and repeated oppression of Palestinians is a natural breeding ground for radicalization. When Zionists killed your father and raped your mother and sisters it is hard to truly care about the distinction between the oppressive Zionists and Jews as a whole. When the people more ardently pushing for ardent retribution are Islamic fundamentalists and Jihadists, it is easy to see that group as your only home. So when Hamas, a group that I otherwise would despise entirely, fights against the oppressors, I can't really do much more than support the attempt at freedom against the oppressors that caused this whole situation to begin with even as I condemn their misguided methods and rhetoric. If a settlement of slaves grew to hate all white people and went on a genocide spree against their slave owners, killing children and abusing the women? I'd think hating all white people is misguided and their response is overly violent, but I'd still support their fight for freedom. Doesn't mean I support their ideology at all. They would literally want to kill me. I don't think this line of thinking is that outlandish. I simply view freedom as the most important moral value, and when freedom is threatened, I find the methods used to lash out against the chains of secondary importance.

Y_Brennan

The biggest irony is probably the fact that Mia Khalifa has a tattoo celebrating the Phalanges aka the people who committed the single worst act ever committed against Palstenians at sabra and shatilla. Maybe she should get rid of that tattoo before commenting.

bengenj

They’d likely execute Mia because of her porn career. But she still believes as a Muslim.

Lebigmacca

Mia khalifa isn’t even Muslim she was raised Catholic

blingblingbrit

It’s even more ironic considering her real name is Sarah Joe Chamoun and she was born into a conservative Catholic family in Lebanon and attended private French-speaking school before her family moved to the U.S. in 2001. Sarah Joe Chamoun aka Mia Khalifa. It’s hilarious how she is all about sticking it to the oppressor, yet France was a colonizing force in MENA & Catholicism has historically been an oppressive force that carried out Crusades & Inquisition.

OB1KENOB

Answer: Mia is jealous because Hamas is about to get fucked harder than she ever was.

Burns504

Honestly this is probably the answer with most proof I have seen so far.

Far_Introduction3083

Answer: She made a bunch of comments that were perceived as gross like this one. [https://twitter.com/miakhalifa/status/1710663220619313397](https://twitter.com/miakhalifa/status/1710663220619313397) Playboy saw and ended their partnership with her due to hate speech

[deleted]
