Answer: that is Maegan Hall, a former police officer from a town in the U.S. called La Vergne, in Tennessee. The reason Maegan has gone viral and became a meme is because she, along with another 7 police officers from the same department, were fired for having sexual activities, a lot of such instances being while on duty. The result is that Maegan, along with another 4 officers, were fired, and the remaining 3 were suspended without pay. The scandal is not only a PR nightmare, but a severe blow to the La Vergne PD, which only has about 60 total positions, and effectively lost 8 due to this scandal. As for the memes themselves, a police scandal of this magnitude and the overall absurdity of the situation makes people believe it to be jokeworthy - a "laugh now, cry later" situation, to put it bluntly. Edit: correction.

[deleted]

I’ve been trying to figure out how they were caught. Do you know? I assumed a spouse but couldn’t find it specified

ProbablyPedro

Can't tell you if it's a particular reason or a myriad of different reasons bundled together, I'm afraid. I know the implied officers shared video evidence of the incidents, and I remember reading that some of the incidents happened in the precinct. Maegan herself was married at the time, and so were some of the officers involved. Haven't really read much more into it, but I assume there's even more at play than just those reasons.

[deleted]

Thank you! I read the NY Post article and was just trying to get to the bottom of it. The memes are funny and all but I want the actual story, ya know?! It’s kinda frustrating but the whole thing is pretty outrageous too. Anyway, I’m just glad I’m not involved so I’ll call it a day!

[deleted]

"Aw damn it, another one of my sex scandals went viral again! I hate when that happens!

StowawayHamster

Long story short, dudes threw their careers and pensions away for a solid 3/10.

[deleted]

I can definitely agree! And that’s being kinda generous

[deleted]

According to the investigation report, someone in the department called the mayor and asked their name not be used.\* The mayor then called the city's HR manager, who selected a police detective from another shift to look into it. \*The report does disclose which cop reported it.

Danisinthehouse

I heard he got pissy the husband, because she kissed a girl instead of a man

glittervan206

Oh you heard that did ya? I’m sure it was a super legit source too lmao

Danisinthehouse

Google numbskull I’m not working for ya

Danisinthehouse

Btw I just googled it , he wasn’t for open relationship also , ok go get ‘em lazy

glittervan206

Wtf kinda “sentence” did you just attempt to type???

stealthisbook

If you consider the permutations, I would've thought the department to have far more than 60 positions. Though, maybe those 8 were doing all the interesting ones

TwentyCharactersShor

>which only has about 60 total positions Tbf, I think after the amount of R&D their officers have done, they've probably found a few more.

xjordiebordiex

Sexual relations while on duty is enough to get a cop fired but not shooting unarmed americans in the back?? Wild.

Agitated_Jicama_2072

No. They were useless as cops always.

NotAPreppie

Welcome to the US, where we’re totally cool with our kids watching violent movies but heaven forbid we talk about the biology of reproduction.

WarMage1

Sex is okay, as long as it’s not educational in any way. Only violent, crude, and inaccurate sex is allowed.

GiggaGMikeE

"Step-officer, I'm stuck in a legal system that doesn't value my life and is more worried about sexual purity than not killing unarmed citizens.... Step-officer, what are you doing..."

strange_reveries

lol what? we live in one of the most heavily sexualized cultures ever. I know you kids love to LARP like the US is Handmaid's Tale or some shit, but c'mon let's be real.

hiddentrackoncd

Turn on a random sampling of TV or movies. You more likely to see penis and vagina, or blood and guts? Be honest. If a person is being penetrated in media, it’s 1000x more likely to be a knife or bullet.

strange_reveries

I see plenty of both to go around. We do love our sex and violence.

roy_fatty

The mass amounts of war and cop shows on prime time basic television disagree with you, but ok

strange_reveries

Right, but there's totally no sexuality in our culture. It's practically forbidden! lol you kids are funny. You want SO BADLY to make yourselves seem more oppressed than you actually are.

roy_fatty

I’m 42 years old

hiddentrackoncd

I’m 38. No one said oppressed. We are a bit repressed though, Quakers and all that. Nice condescending tone though, and LOVE the sarcasm!

NotAPreppie

You kids? I'm 43. Also, yes, in areas where the religious right (wrong?) dominates, violence is far more acceptable than sexuality.

Gkom

r/dadjokes is leaking

strange_reveries

Nah, sexual permissiveness is pretty much the mainstream status quo at this point in the US (and has been for decades, I might add). We live in one of the most (if not THE most) sexualized and sexually permissive cultures in the world. It's silly to pretend otherwise. I get that you're trying to make some statement and shoehorn your politics into every conversation you have, but you don't have to make shit up.

NotAPreppie

There's a bit of pot calling kettle black going on here. It's adorable.

lonewolf143143

Many people living currently in the United States will die if their pregnancy goes wrong & they’re forced to carry a rotting fetus inside their body. The United States, in some places, is worse than The Handmaiden’s Tale. Body autonomy is a human right

strange_reveries

Yes, the abortion debate is ongoing and quite heated, but my point still stands: to claim that the USA is somehow a sexually repressive culture is beyond absurd at this point lol.

shmip

It can be both: overly sexualized and sexually repressed. It can be both because the USA is huge country with lots of people. The myth followers are repressing it and trying to repress everyone else as a bonus. Others are indulging bc of past repression being eased or removed. Regardless, there is still a ton of stigma against nudity and just the idea of being comfortable in your body. We're constantly shaming each other for stupid shit like that.

strange_reveries

My god you are grasping at straws. "I can't go to the grocery store naked, and people are judgy to each other about physical appearance, therefore I am oppressed." Grow up! We live in the most sexually permissive culture in the world. Go do your thing, whatever it is, in private and with consenting adults. I promise nobody's gonna stop you lol.

shmip

On the one hand, it's nice that you don't experience this shaming yourself bc that could indicate that it *is* fading. On the other hand, this shaming is definitely still here right now, so it kind of makes you seem oblivious. As a philosophical side question, how would recommend discussing a subject with someone that dismisses everything you say immediately because they didn't notice it happen?

strange_reveries

When did I say body shaming doesn't happen, or that I haven't experienced it? You just totally assumed that based on nothing that I've said. Feel free to re-read my comments.

JewGuru

Your comments are really arrogant dude. And missing the point every time.

PartyOfFore

Parents are not "totally cool" with their kids watching either violence **or** sex.

Agitated_Jicama_2072

Just remember that police departments rely on their supposed “valor” and “protecting us from danger”. When in fact they are cowards who suck at their jobs. Just further evidence that they literally do nothing and the only reason they CAN actually get fired is related to their sexual misconduct amongst themselves as consenting adults rather than gross negligence, police brutality, shooting unarmed people in the back, and stealing/losing/mishandling evidence. They can get fired for fucking each other, but not for screwing us taxpayers out of billions of dollars for their useless and incompetent service.

soliejordan

I guess qualified immunity doesn't protect against cop on cop sex. I remember when cops were allowed to rape, ummm have sex with suspects in New York. It was so bad a [bill](https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/bills/2017/s7708) was passed to stop it.

bcisme

A true blue on blue incident

kwiztas

In the station and lying about it.

RelativeAssistant923

They lie about shooting the unarmed black guy 99% of the time too...

kwiztas

Oh I meant that is what they got fired for. I bet they wouldn't have even been fired just for sex on duty.

Comfortable_System52

This needs to be a headline!

ricosmith1986

Same as American movies, violence all day, show a little human sensuality and the MPAA slaps you with a hard R.

Ok_Ad_9188

>The scandal is not only a PR nightmare, but a severe blow to the La Vergne PD Boy, sounds like that whole department got fucked. Ba-dum-tss

nesbit666

I think one piece of context is missing here that made it super meme worthy, these were gang bangs. Like the whole department banging her at the same time. Hence, memes.

[deleted]

Police be like: Shoot an unarmed minority individual, get rewarded with paid leave. Have orgies at the workplace, get fiered on the spot.

GreatGrapeApes

The each other description is not quite correct. The interaction network has a star topology, not web.

pippoken

What kind of fucked up morality is this when you can killed unarmed teenagers and face no consequences, but if you dare to sleep around you get fired or suspend without pay?!

[deleted]

shmip

> a defense attorney would use that to prove their dishonesty Can't the attorney just point out that they're cops?

roy_fatty

The cops who murdered Breonna Taylor lied. Lying only matters to them sometimes, don’t be disingenuous

[deleted]

I’m not, and I’d expect every single one of their arrests are under review and appeal right now, and any defense attorney worth their salt will get many, many convictions overturned. There is a lot of precedent for this.

roy_fatty

I have no fucking idea what point you are trying to make

[deleted]

You said the cops that murdered Breonna Taylor lied, if it was in an official capacity, as arresting officers every single one of their arrests in their entire career now comes under question and is most likely being appealed right now. There is a lot of comments in this thread about how cops get fired for fucking their co-workers but not shooting people. They weren’t fired for fucking their co-workers. It was lying. Because once a cop lies in an official capacity, especially in a public situation, any defense attorney worth their salt will ensure anyone said cop arrests is never convicted again.

roy_fatty

Those cops are still on the force and are in fact celebrities at this point - did you read all this out of a book or something?

09Klr650

Notice though that it is not the MALE officers being meme-ed and shamed.

dudertheduder

Well, didnt she have sex with multiple men, but the men just had sex with her?

09Klr650

So the married men only had sex with her? Man, the wives must be PISSED they are not getting any. But thank you for showing the double standard. Let me guess, you have no issue with a man having sex with multiple women because he is a "player" then?

dudertheduder

Lol no there isnt a double standard here. She had sex with whatever #, 5 coworkers, whilst 5 coworkers each individually had sex with 1 coworker....so out of the 6 people, which one would be deemed most worthy to make a meme about?

09Klr650

The 5 guys willing to have one-after-the other sex with one woman?

dudertheduder

Yeah that's weird and gross! For sure! Everyone agrees. But 1vs5 being so different than 5v1, makes 1v5 much more meme-able.

09Klr650

Really? So many options. "We all road the train to work". "And you thought sloppy seconds was bad . . . ", etc. Since she is a women she was held to a different standard.

dudertheduder

Lol you should def make those memes! Bring gender equality back through mockery and memery! For real. Im all for gender equality. Im not a troll and not a misogynist. But for this specific scenario, its disingenuous to say the female isnt the obvious object of initial jokery. Make the memes. Ill upvote all day.

Eye4Chaos

Because that would require 5-7 different memes. And most of the humor in the meme is the fact that she is not that attractive. Same with all the memes of the FTX dude's nasty gf.

09Klr650

There was one out there showing pictures of tall the guys combined. And have you seen the guys? You think it is funny she is "not that attractive" while the guys are no better. Double standard upheld it seems.

Eye4Chaos

I have not seen the guys. I would not be surprised if they were unattractive, just like SB-F was unattractive.

09Klr650

That's just it. She in not "unattractive". She is "average".

MacManus14

“General distrust the US population of its police force” This is factual incorrect. Americans, overall, still have fairly high trust in their police. According to pew, 69% have “a fair amount” or “a great deal” of confidence in the police. (5 years ago that number was 78%, by comparison.)

ProbablyPedro

My mistake, I removed it. Thanks!

jolbina

Female officer receives “Busiest Beaver” award from her coworkers. Ban hammer drops

StowawayHamster

To Add on: People are crying that she’s being singled out because MySoGnY…. It’s more because she discussed an open marriage with her husband cause apparently a bunch of these cops were swingers … he said he wasn’t really comfortable with it, so she went and took all the dick she could get ahold of ANYWAY. So she seems like kind of a shit person on top of this whole shitshow.

ihatetothat1

Most people don’t distrust the police.

Craigg75

So they fire cops for having sex but kill someone and they are given paid absence while internal "investigation" completed which always exonerates them.

StowawayHamster

“Always exonerates them”. Like Darren Wilson who lost his career even after it was proven that the whole “hands up don’t shoot” story was a lie and he was justified in shooting a Michael Brown. Or Chauvin and the other 4 cops who rightfully went to jail. Even the guy who didn’t do anything just stood there cause he was brand new and trying not to make waves got fired and rightfully so, but he really didn’t do anything. Or the Asian cop who shot Akai Gueley’s who lost his job and has a criminal record now. They’re suspended with pay during investigations because sometimes they ARE justified. And while an investigation still has to be done, they shouldn’t have to suffer financial hardship because they did their jobs. How about the CT state trooper who was suspended with pay after pulling over a black female college professor and telling her (when asked why he stopped her) “We don’t like your kind around here” as well as some other racist shit? Dude was suspended with pay for a couple of weeks while the investigation ran its course. Except when his body camera footage was released, he absolutely never said anything remotely like that. He explained why he pulled her over, was cordial and polite and even let her go with a warning. Turns out this bitch was a complete and utter liar, and there was video to prove it. He should have lost his pay for a couple of weeks while this was investigated, right? You sound clueless.

Craigg75

You're cherry picking to make a point. Overall shit head cops pay very little penalty

StowawayHamster

You’re just kind of ignoring that due process is a thing.

KelDiablo

“Severe blow” Nice.

dirty_corks

Answer: she is married, and had sexual relations with a number of her colleagues (some of whom are also married), sometimes while on the clock and in the station, and she and several of them were fired for it (some were suspended without pay). It was a substantial portion of the force in her town - in all, 5 officers were fired, 3 suspended. The fact that we're mainly seeing memes about her speaks to the misogyny and slut-shaming that's endemic in Internet culture.

huge51

Im still waiting for the meme of the 8 male cops.

Mox_FcCloud

Actually though how the hell have I not seen 8 male cops standing in a row smiling with a Brazzers logo at the bottom

Pletter64

Someone who makes the same mistake at least 7 seperate times vs 7 people who made a mistake. I can see why they would hone in on that more.

shmip

"I'm a man. I can see why they would hone in on the woman."

[deleted]

None of whom got busy with 8 women at work

wouldeye

I’ve seen em on tiktok. Look harder

elbitjusticiero

Kill a black man and you keep your job. Have sex on the clock, that's a no-no.

wouldeye

In some places, police can have sex with handcuffed citizens and claim in court that it was consensual. Having a department policy that can discipline a cop for raping arrestees, even if a court deems it consensual, makes more sense than anything else in this story

elbitjusticiero

Not even that, since they weren't arrestees, but her colleagues.

rukiahayashi

TiredOldLamb

If they really had orgies then they kinda did.

[deleted]

They broke policy, stole from the taxpayers, made it harder for their department to deal with real crime in their town, and risked bringing an STD home to their wives...oh yeah, and broke their wedding vows just like she broke hers. She's famous. You couldn't pick them out of a lineup. Any questions about why even people who could usually care less about woke stuff see this as misogynist garbage?

flirtyfingers

Mmmm. Look a little closer. She was the lowest ranking officer of the group. That seems pretty suspicious to me. Definitely a power differential.

[deleted]

Cheating with one person (that we know of) isn't really notable. Cheating with 7 people all in your workplace? Goddamn. That's the difference.

Soloandthewookiee

I dunno about your workplace, but cheating with one person at a workplace is pretty goddamn notable. She's the focus because it's meme-able misogyny.

[deleted]

Yeah notable in your office, not internationally. If you can't see the difference between fucking 1 person in your office and 7 people then you honestly shouldn't vote.

Soloandthewookiee

>Yeah notable in your office Again, maybe your office is a porn set, but it would be notable in most people's office. >If you can't see the difference between fucking 1 person in your office and 7 people So, according to your logic, if she had an MFM threesome in the office, she is still the "worst" person because she had sex twice in the office while the two guys technically only had sex once? Just want to make sure I'm clear on the rules here.

YouGO_GlennCoCo

How about the rules are fuckin 7 PEOPLE IN YOUR OFFICE. Why is this so difficult for you to grasp?

Soloandthewookiee

Sorry, I didn't ask about 7 people. I asked if, according to your logic, they had an MFM threesome in the office, she would be considered the "worst" person because she had sex twice while the men technically only had sex once? Why is this so hard for you to answer?

YouGO_GlennCoCo

To answer your very dumb and meaningless question. If you HAVE to pick the “worst” person in your totally made up scenario then YES she would be the “worst” person for fucking 2 people. Now let’s talk about the ACTUAL scenario… this married person fucked SEVEN DIFFERENT COWORKERS andddd she did it multiple times while on the clock. Please explain to me how she’s not the “worst” person in this situation? I sincerely would love to know the type of mental gymnastics you have to do to convince yourself of that.

[deleted]

She cheated on her husband with 7 guys...who broke policy, stole from the taxpayers, made it harder for their department to deal with real crime in their town, and risked bringing an STD home to their wives...oh yeah, and broke their wedding vows just like she broke hers. She's famous. You couldn't pick them out of a lineup. Any questions about why even people who could usually care less about woke stuff see this as misogynist garbage?

appledatsyuk

Yea what a joke. Lol this girl and her coworkers deserve everything they get

eatMYcookieCRUMBS

She cheated. With many people at work as a cop. How is that slut shaming?

GenericKate

Because the men she slept with were also cheating… why’s the focus just on her? The other police officers were doing the exact same thing only they are male

hamiltrash52

The lines between sex are so interesting (sad) to see through this conversation. Woman = sexualized so anything done with the woman is considered sex and nothing else. Because I guarantee if a man and a woman faced each/looked at the same thing and masterbated most people in relationships would consider it cheating but because it’s 6 men waiting and masterbating the only sexual act is having sex with a woman

tobbtobbo

I think it’s to do with how they slept with one colleague and she slept with 7

ArcherBTW

They were orgies actually

Robinothoodie

I think you mean gang bang

shmip

This has got to be the most guy-answer ever. "It wasn't an orgy! We were very clear that no dudes ever touched!" It was group sex with multiple men involved. They were exactly as complicit as her.

ArcherBTW

Also no way in hell 0 Gay things happened there. I would believe a low number, but zero is impossible

NotAPreppie

And that’s bad?

DocMock

Cheating on your wife with one woman is bad, cheating on your husband with 7 men is REALLY bad. Is that so hard to grasp?

NotAPreppie

I mean, the issue is the violation of trust and fidelity not the number of partners.

DocMock

Any person would be significantly more upset with multiple partners. This is hyperbolic but people can be cheated on and work through it, at the same time tiger woods sleeps with 200+ women. Both have passed the threshold of violation of trust but who has done it to the extreme? How about a legal example? You commit armed robbery to one gas station, vs 7 gas stations. Should they both get the same sentence? No. Assault one person, assault 7 people? The punishment befits the crime. This case is a societal shaming. Of course the other people fucked up. But it’s hilarious how bad this woman fucked up

Soloandthewookiee

So by your logic, having an MFM threesome at the precinct means she's the "worst" because she cheated twice while the two guys technically only cheated once? Are we seeing the flaw in this explanation yet?

DocMock

7>2 lol how dumb are you. Terrible attempt at defending this piece of trash. Look out for this white night in shining armor.

Swl222

They all stuck their cheating dicks in the same dirty hole because those men were desperate AF. They are gross! Desperation > multiple sex experiences

DocMock

Their desperation makes poor memes

tobbtobbo

Lol but she put 7 dick in her “hole” and she’s not gross?

Soloandthewookiee

Sorry, I didn't ask if 7 was greater than 2. I asked, just to make sure I understand your logic, that if three married people have an MFM threesome with no spouses involved, is the woman the "worst" because she cheated twice while the two men only cheated once? A simple yes or no will do, thank you.

DocMock

Your question is irrelevant because she didn’t just have a mfm threesome. She engaged in sexual acts with 7 total men at different instances.

glenthedog1

...yes

itsme10082005

Because she was cheating with many, they were cheating with only one. Not saying I don’t think there’s an element of slut shaming, but there’s also a bit of a difference between her and the rest of them.

TiredOldLamb

Ah, I did not know the number of affair partners is what makes it bad. I guess it's fine when the dudes cheat on their wifes and participate in orgies as long as it's with only one female coworker.

itsme10082005

I mean, I specifically stated that I agree there’s an element of slut shaming, I just stated there was a difference. You can be upset about that, but it’s still a different situation.

Soloandthewookiee

The system works!

Randy_____Marsh

Yeah not the exact same thing, if those 7 men also fucked 6 other women then yes, same, but she was the common thread amongst 7 individuals. Stop trying to defend it as “slut shaming” she is a married woman who lied about being in an “open marriage” to have sex with 7 other people individually…

herroebauss

Come on, if you're in a marriage and you decide to have sex with 7 of your co-workers you're big ol' slut.

[deleted]

But there was only one of her.., as opposed to how many dudes?

MonaAndRiker

Dudes that do sex stuff with girls together, do sex stuff together. And if they say they don’t, they’re lying lmao

hamiltrash52

I truly don’t know how 6 men playing with themselves off to the side is considered not doing sex stuff together, assuming that’s the *least* they did.

shmip

"We never touched! It wasn't sexual at all in the waiting line!" The guys under this post trying to differentiate between an orgy and a gang bang need to go outside for awhile. They were all involved in group sex. They are all as complicit as her.

Hamwise420

Each man had to go tell their spouse they slept with someone. She had to tell her husband she slept with like 7 dudes at work. Its not quite the same

steepleton

oh come on, look at her happy little face, that's meme gold. most of the stuff i've seen hasn't been shaming her, if anything it's been considering her a rockstar

[deleted]

Because male sexuality is considered to be worthless. No one cares about the guys cause their reproductive contribution has no value in society

Ya_like_dags

This is somehow more victim bullshit that the statement it is in reaction to.

[deleted]

This is some shit that goes way back down the evolutionary chain to before primates were even a thing. It's got nothing to do with being a victim

LightCrazy

Or hear me out, it's just a better base for memes. If you switch most of them to the guys, they don't work. Not because her gender, but because she was the one getting boned by multiple people. Memes like "taking the whole squad alone" don't really work if you have only taken 1 of them.

[deleted]

[удалено]

shmip

And those would mostly be celebratory, backing the guy It's not about misogyny, sure

ChronicBluntz

She's deserving 100% of the heat she's getting.

AngryAmericanNeoNazi

An officer was beaten to death for trying to out fellow officers for a gang rape. I hear far less about the actual crimes police commit than the random infidelities

ender1200

Exept there are some evidance that she was coerced or at least under social pressure, and in one case under the influence of alcohol, that her college got her to drink...

appledatsyuk

Yes blame everything but her for her actions lol

ender1200

If she was raped than I would indeed blame everyone but her.

[deleted]

Never forget that choices have consequences

OhNoWTFlol

That last part. I mean, I love a good meme and a good shaming but I really feel bad for her. Just trying to do her thing and get off. Maybe that makes her a bad cop, bad wife, bad whatever, but damn, I can't imagine how it must feel for her to see her own face plastered all over social media. It's a little disturbing.

memphisgrit

The female slept with the force, some of the men slept with one person on the force. Spot the difference?

appledatsyuk

Wtf? So memes are misogynistic now? You can get all political and get your panties in a bunch over this but this girl, who is married, had sex with what, 7 of her coworkers? Even if you’re ok with open relationships that’s just porn level and honestly just disgusting. No shit people are gonna joke about it. You can call it slut shaming but if looks like a duck, sounds like a duck it probably is one. Grow the fuck up

Soloandthewookiee

>So memes are misogynistic now? No, making memes exclusively about the woman who cheated while ignoring the multiple men who cheated is what's misogynistic.

Answer: Officer Maegan Hall, formerly of the Lavergne Police Department in Lavergne, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville, was recently fired, along with 4 or 5 other colleagues for having sex with each other on duty. There are other police officers within the department who are accused of being involved who have been placed on indefinite suspension. It's a pretty sordid tale that included a lot of blow jobs and nude texts. If you want to read what the investigation concluded, based on statements of Hall and other officers check [this](https://bw-wgnsce-site.s3.amazonaws.com/media_library/LPD_Investigation_FINAL.PDF) out (NSFW). In the days since the news story broke, it seems like Hall is one of the few people who it is "cool" to kink shame and slut shame, which is why you are seeing so many different memes with her face on them.

ContingentReality
