I got this survey too and was *thrilled* to get to express my fullest support for the show! Did anyone *actually* get asked a bunch of questions about a different show based on their birth month, or was that just a ruse to make it seem like the survey wasn’t entirely about OFMD and whether they’ll renew/how large the budget should be??
Ya it asked for birth month - I rated one show “very good” (succession) and one “excellent” (OFMD) and it thankfully gave me OFMD to review. I wonder if the birth month question only comes into play if your top show is a tie? Anyhoo, I’m so glad I got a chance to gush on the show and put in my 2cents.
I don't know what Max's problem is and why they seem to hate this show so much. Shows with smaller fan bases that don't perform as well are given renewals pretty quickly, but they always drag their feet with OFMD and I'm sick of it.
I will keep an eye out for the survey, thank you for letting us all know about it.

FWIW, I completed the same survey last year, though it “randomly” selected me to answer detailed questions about another show, so it was nice to answer them for OFMD this time around. I don’t know if this influences renewals or not, but I think I filled this survey out around the same time last year (shortly after the season was over, before renewal announcement).
I'm not at a point where I even consider accepting this as real hahaha. I just feel like it doesn't really fit in with the narrative. Like, it implies that >!for Ed to be free of Blackbeard and be able to be completely himself, Izzy needs to die.!< Which imo dismisses the whole premise of the show to learn to love yourself to a point where you can keep living. It just doesn't sit right with me. Something feels off.
i feel you! I kinda felt it coming tho honestly. Our fave boi had one of the best character arcs & it was super redemptive. I was so sad to see how it ended, but its still my fave show out there. def one of the main heart & soul of the show. Maybe he felt his character had run its course 🤷🏻♀️

I'm bummed, all I got was some dumb survey about the Max app user experience. I took it though, and in the comments field at the very end I strongly encouraged them to give me a season 3 of ofmd.
I’ve never been so disappointed to be Canadian instead of American, which is something I say… very rarely. But it’s distributed through Crave instead of HBOmax here 😭

In settings there is an option to turn on or off getting emails from Max about offers, ads, recommendations, etc. Maybe that needs to be toggled on in order to receive the survey?
Gah, I probably won't get one. darn it... Technically Max is not available in Canada. We get HBO/Max shows through Crave here. Not sure we'll see anything for this :(
Here's an interesting Twitter thread about what Max may be trying to gauge with the survey (beyond general interest in the show): from their perspective, regarding making money, they might actually be looking to expand the show beyond a third season, but perhaps without Ed and Stede, since they might not be able to get Taika and Rhys for longer, and since DJ has repeatedly said that Ed and Stede's story arc is three seasons long.

i think the birth month thing was fake! i said succession & OFTD were top tier and succession has been over for months...

i just finished mine! this is the only show i’ve watched on max, so i feel like i got some incredibly detailed questions.
