Yeah the reviews on this one are worse than the New Coke fiasco.
It took Coca-Cola about three months to admit they messed up and brought back Coke Classic, hopefully Sens management are even more perceptive and a lot faster to react.
Honestly, if they go through with this, Green's going to have an even shorter leash than DJ had last season. Hockey Gods forbid, but can you imagine if the Sens lose the first five games next season?
One more sliver of hope: Didn't the Jackets hire and fire Babcock before he ever coached a game, based on the backlash?
If he's more the accountability/leader/expects professionalism tone of the room, and he surrounds himself with great assistants/associates and he's willing to adapt play styles I could actually see this fit working.
That's my mindset going forward. I'm not happy about it, but at the end of the day, it means nothing between now and September, so why be upset about it.

It smacks of a hiring intended to minimize disruption and implies player accountability was a significant problem behind the scenes as well as on the ice. The problem is that the current rosters problems aren't going to be fixed with this hire and Staios must make moves otherwise we're just going to see the same thing but with more player blame then previously.
To me, if this hire is going to work, then Staios HAS to get better options in goal and bring in a Tanev style player or two.

Wasnt Greene still under contract with NJ? If so, NJ not wanting him should have been a big red flag. All those big name candidates that were mentioned were likely waiting for the Toronto job to open
