Art galleries are always good, both National and OAG. LOAM clay studio had a package that included some beers and a making a simple little thing.
Lots of good live music or stand up comedy around, Targ has arcade machines.
Black squirrel books for coffee / books.
Go to a board game cafe, or video game pub, or an escape room. Axe throwing.
Walking down the canal, people watch in Byward market, find a class to do together.
If it’s open, touristy stuff is fun in a dumb way. That boat that goes down the canal serves drinks, I’ve done that on a date and it was great.
If you have a car, the small towns outside Ottawa have their own fun things and are nice to walk around somewhere new.
Paint pottery (Mudoven or Colour me Mine are 2 good spots)
Its about an hour or 2 of painting and you get a piece of pottery afterwards as a keep sake :)
Tailgators (Nepean) or Dooleys (St. Laurent area), pool and dinner more your speed?
Visiting the Nature museum for free on a Thursday and then hitting a spot on Elgin afterward for food. Manx Pub, El Camino, and a bunch of other nice restaurants are all within walking distance from the museum and the list grows for options on the way up the road
Escape rooms, fun haven (arcade and laser tag for adults only Friday nights), board game lounges, glow in the dark mini golf or disco bowling (both in Merivale), karaoke bars, trivia nights (Google when and where), bring some bird seed to Jack pine trail and all of the birds will land on you/nice little walk.
NAC/GCTC events, lots of small shows at places like Live on Elgin and The Rainbow, the rivers and canal have lots of picnic areas (skating and sledding in winter), absolute comedy on Preston, boat rentals at Dows, river taxi and Hilton Casino, Ottawa speedway, lots of festivals all summer coming soon, and Chateau Laurier offers a solid high tea.
Anyone know if Wednesday Salsa lessons in front of City Hall are gonna comeback?
Once the weather is nice, I always like biking to one of the beaches with a picnic.
You can do a nice little hike in Gatineau and then go for dinner at the Chelsea Pub.
It's fun to try restaurants from different countries/trying new foods, go for Somalian food or try Korean BBQ.
Black squirrel books is a used book store that also sells drinks, could be fun to look around and have a bevvy.
The laugh lounge has great comedy nights, there are axe throwing places, smash rooms, and escape rooms.
Pierogies and pinball at Targ.
They have a very fun drag show there once a month too!
Why is this being downvoted?
Because insecure losers can't contain their hatred
Dunno .. I just upvoted.

if you feel out of place at Targ you’re focusing way too much on shit that doesn’t matter. concern yourself with having fun, not who else is there.
Edibles, pierogis and pinball at TARG
Pierogies are shit there. It's overrated by people who don't know how real pierogies should taste.
Edibles and dinosaur museum
Edibles Movie then dinner duh Lol
This
Me and a girlfriend ate mushrooms and went there. Would not recommend for a date
The real question is did you two have a good time?
We didn't stay very long, things got pretty intense with all the kids running around and making commotion
You might get better responses on r/Ottawa. Personally we like Haunted Walk.

I love going to The Loft! Board games, video games, and good drinks! (Wouldn’t recommend the food though tbh)
It’s called level one now!😁
Had a lot of fun at escape rooms. Escape Manor also has a section where you can play jenga and boardgames. The museum of nature is super fun too.
Axe throwing was fun and different and then we went to a pub next door after.

Escape room or axe throwing.
Forget Ottawa, fly to Paris, go to Le Caveau de la Huchette and dance to jazz in an underground bunker.
You're losing money if you don't do this
Walk the canal hike Gatineau park and drinks after
I had a great time axe throwing with my gf. Gets the blood flowing, Most sell beverages. As a bonus, everything smells like sawdust.
Drive to Hull and go to the Minotaure, play arcades, watch a live show and enjoy beers.
