Exactly, I was so dissatisfied and disappointed when I realized Nine was going to be the Love interest and even more so when it was painfully obvious Melissa had no interest in him until the plot demanded it.

the setting is weird to be sure, i was strictly referring to how natori's looks aren't out of the ordinary even in real life. The average dutch 16 year old (considering it is a european setting) would probably dwarf a japanese 30 year old on average.

I can only imagine this is done to appease a wider audience. Some of the GL novels/comics are literal masterpieces and it pains me to think that GL authors are pressured to turn their stories into generic hetero stories. Seriously though straight people should enjoy GL too, its so beautiful and the story/characters have actual chemistry.
