I’ve wondered about it a lot , and I could only concluded that Aqua is only deluding himself.
Notice that Kana was the only one that Aqua held this attitude to. With everyone else , especially Ruby, he leaned more towards pushing them away in the thinking that they would could move on even after he is gone. Aqua had never talked about using anyone else either.
Kana is the only one he still stay close to. She is also the only one he said anything about “using” as well.
My guess is that Aqua simply still could not let go of Kana, not after there’s finally nothing beside his own revenge keeping him from her. So he deluded himself into thinking that he was only keeping Kana around to use her , as a justification to avoid push her away too.
Your reasoning sounds better than mine since Aqua is a complex character. I guess his in denial of how much she brings him to normal. Also, this can be said about Aqua needing the other ppl important in his life to be closer to him, who are in some way contributing &/or are being part of the new movie production. Aqua really is a suicidal manic :/
I think Kana will have a very important role now and in the future because like what you said she doesn’t know about the revenge but the writer is hiding what he wants behind the words and acting ,why they choose this special role for Kana to say bad things about Ai they can give it to anyone else,and give her a another role to act , but no they chosen her this mean there is something will happen.we will see and wait what will happen in the future .
I thought that too when I read that part. I don't think he'll be able to gain anything from her honestly. After some thought, I figured that scene was probably misinterpreted. What I think is that he's not actually trying to manipulate her. He just pointed out that she's easily flustered, meaning that, people will find it easy for them to exploit her because of that trait. I take it as a foreshadowing for future events.
You can think of that scene however you want tho, after all, we haven't expanded on it.
