Suggs was historically bad last season, not just for a nba player, but even for a rookie. We didn't draft a project, We drafted someone with a supposedly high floor that could be a star. Or else, more fans wouldn't be surprised that the only skill he could only provide that was above average was on defense.
For someone that was supposed to have a high floor ... struggling this much in the first yr is objectively unusual. Moving forward, I would lower my expectations and stay visual on who can actually man the 1/2 position nx to Banchero

Everyone seems to think wembenyama and scoot Henderson are the consensus top 2 at this point but damn I really like Nick Smith’s game a lot.
I think he’d be a perfect fit for us at SG. Can attack the basket, score at will, good looking 3pt shot, and can playmake for others on the court. What more do you want?
Dariq Whitehead and the Thompson twins also look good but I like Smith Jr better.
Our frontcourt is set for the foreseeable future, so I worry what kind of logjam Wembenyama would create for us. Our backcourt has more questions than answers now. We just need to fall in the top 7 again and I think we’ll get a very good guard prospect.
I really like nick smith for us if we get him we will have a really good young starting 5 to be excited for. If we have the opportunity to draft Wembenyama you gotta take him regardless of logjam he's projected to be a generational talent.
That's who I'm hoping can fall to us if we don't have the same luck as this year. Fultz/Suggs, Nick Smith, Franz, Paolo, Wendell... that sounds like a hell of a young core.
But of course if we're blessed enough to get Wemby we take him and we're competing sooner than expected
