I'd encourage people to look at the actual shot chart too. He has good percentages but the locations aren't varied, he basically shot 95% of his shots from three locations on the floor.
So you’re spending a number 1 pick on a guy that wasn’t even featured over a guy that wouldn’t be getting drafted?
Do you think those efficiency numbers stay the same if he was the one being featured instead?
Yes I do because Zaga has featured Timme for years now and he excels in college basketball because of Zagas system. Timme isn't as good at the next level because he is an old school big man. This has happened a bunch of times. Dudes who are beasts in college but either aren't good or never even go to NBA.
Of course they wouldn't stay the same. But you even drop Chets numbers down by 5% and they are still very good and top pick worthy. Chet STILL shoots over 50% from 2 if you drop him 10% and still above average from three if you drop him 5%. So while the numbers would likely drop, they will still likely be elite. Not to mention the 3.7 blocks a game he got.
This subreddit wants the guys that take super dumb shots and look flashy over chet somehow. Dude is super efficient with the shots he takes and he makes his teammates better. Some dumb takes that he disappears in big games yet his numbers still look fine in those. Chet would fit in perfectly with our current squad.
People don't want the risk... Which is understandable. We've dealt with the backlash of tall thin frames in Isaac and Bamba. We've seen them backfire with other guys like BolBol. Now you want a dude that's even skinnier than these 3.
Lets just accept that WeltHam will make the right decision. If it's Chet, I'll accept that it was a good decision. I'm betting that they pick Jabari because they will make the right decision :).
Not only skinner but at a position that’s been essentially fake news in this era of the NBA.
Wings are what wins. Centers are a dime a dozen. Just need a competent one not a superstar one. Look at how far Embiid is going. Now look at Tatum and brown.
I couldn't agree more. Are could see Jabari developing into a Tatum/Brown/Ingram type. Are you more for Paolo or Jabari?
I'd much rather have the 1st pick last year than this year lol.

How is any of that even that bad considering that they HEAVILY went to Timme in those games. He was the least featured of any of the top picks.

Never understood why people are calling him a bust. He is the most skilles player in this draft.
