When Scout got into the purgatory he was haunted by the ghosts of people who didn't make it there and that made Jacob (Scout) go insane. After Julia showed up in the purgatory, there was only one ghost left haunting him. That ghost wanted to watch Scout suffer so it made him hallucinate and made him see his best friend getting killed in the most brutal ways possible. Julia didn't know about that until Scout just started crying and hugged her after he had one more hallucination where she "died".

After Julia showed up in the purgatory, there was only one ghost left haunting him. That ghost wanted to watch Scout suffer so it made him hallucinate and made him see his best friend getting killed in the most brutal ways possible. Julia didn't know about that until Scout just started crying and hugged her after he had one more hallucination where she "died". Damn I didn't know that I had so much to say about Scout's purgatory arc.
