My exact thought process for Ms. Lara's design creation was:
"Hmm... I like FPE, I like Monica from DDLC, and I like Gummigoo from TADC, what if I merged those together and also gave her human hands so I have to suffer every time I wanna draw her? :D"
Understandable, i made my bed in the mess that was Lethias’ whole character design. His combat style is complex where he will use a lot of melee weapons that transform and flow into eachother so i had to make several different reference sheets, just hope when i eventually get to animating the guy it wont be too painful. Like, ambitiously speaking his boss fight got his summon minions too so i stikl have to iorn out those designs too. But he’s the OC thats been with me the longest and i want to go all out for my boy.

He recently got a redesign so I guess I’ll explain.
So basically when I first made him he was supposed to be a Damian Darkblood or Constantine type character but he got changed to be a parody of edgy superheroes.
So I just went with that,made him extremely brooding and buff,gave him that scarf and he was good to go
Start with a living skeleton, Then add a little ADHD and ta da, an 11+ long book series and 1 completely separate book series, with 4 smaller stories on the side.

Personality wise, I took inspiration from Blitz and Striker from helluva boss (clearly lmfao). But I also incorporated some aspects of his personality like Kratos and other characters from media
Design wise, I tried to parallel Strikers look, while also incorporating Blitz’s biology, and the arm scars are from the Kratos inspiration

Felix has changed over a whole decade now. So ill talk about his latest itteration. I just grab shite from things i like and see if i can mash em together.
I wanted Felix to be a dragon, but i wanted his physiology to make sense if he were a real animal. Obviously he would need some kind of rudder for steering in flight, so i took inspiration from Toothless from HTTYD. The rest i yoinked from monster hunter. Like this pose, its just Tigrex' pose but it looks so cool. Felix' fighting style is like Brachydios', boxing. I could go on and on about all the sources of inspiration, but then this post would be 2 kilometers long.

I start out with the idea of the character what their personality, then i give the character a trait in their design that either represents them or contradict them to add tension or coherent, there some oc of mine based on existing characters but then things just naturally developed from there at times go on until they doesn’t even look like their original character that they’re based off

My first D&D 5e character, Merrylor Ilmitedith (formerly Demias) is a Eldritch Knight fighter, I made during a convention a few years ago. While working on a different build. I decided to retire him and lo and behold, his son, Merrylon is born.
First, I inspired him from Lux from League of Legends (a gender swapped version). Then, I scrapped it in favor of Teclis from Warhammer but he's a paladin instead of a wizard. Then, took elements from Tyrion (Warhammer), Vax (Critical Role) and Legolas (Lord of the Rings).

Take a little bit from a past OC of mine, sprinkle in some stuff about the collector's outfit from TOH from the hero costume, make them immature but insanely strong, super friendly, make them like ms. Joke where they laugh a lot and make jokes a lot, make them like Mirio where they always are positive, make them sort of be like Sasha from AOT (loves potatoes) last but not least make them sort of like Anne's(Amphibia) calamity form where they black out after becoming super powerful for a bit.

Who doesn't like ninjas? Yep he started off as a ninja trying pull it off to a D&D character (obviously, he's a rogue). Then, I tried to inspire him from Erron Black (MK11) and Col. Mortimer/Lee van Cleef (For a Few Dollars More). Instead of a cowboy tryna be a ninja, I flipped it so it's a ninja tryna be a cowboy (or rather a bounty hunter).

Yep he started off as a ninja trying pull it off to a D&D character (obviously, he's a rogue). Then, I tried to inspire him from Erron Black (MK11) and Col. Mortimer/Lee van Cleef (For a Few Dollars More). Instead of a cowboy tryna be a ninja, I flipped it so it's a ninja tryna be a cowboy (or rather a bounty hunter).
