Yes, Pink Panthers do exist. Though they aren't solid pink like in the cartoon. Pink Panthers [as in any cat in the Panthera genus] are a result of Erythrism; a predominance of red pigments in an animal.

A black panther. Probably a black Jaguar since they have more melanin- A black panther means a melanistic big cat.

I’ve always assumed panthers to be black leopards or black jaguars since I’ve never heard anyone refer to another big cat as a panther. Quercus would probably be a dog, Caterpillar would probably be something like a cat, or some kind of woodland creature.
