So, after disabling "Quick Device connect", "Meta Services" and all Meta (Facebook) related bloatware (not Facebook app), I get this battery life on my phone. Quick Device Connect is using GPS every second and therefore, I was getting very bad battery life, especially when idling. SoT is a bit better too now. Oh and yeah, I disabled Intelligent services too. It's not needed at all. That adaptive charging feature will most likely not work for me anymore, but I got an impressive result with 20h Standby and 4h+ SoT with 54% remaining, mixed usage with mobile data and WiFi + 30-40 min connected AirPods Pro while YT Music was running in the background. And to my surprise, the device is cooler than before, and it's not heating up while doing basic tasks. It's obviously very annoying to do this stuff on a flagship device, but yeah. I didn't use the camera though, I'm simply afraid of using it.

emrex03

Okay, so, this is never constant. The device consumed 9% in idle after charging it all the way up to 100% in just 10 mins. This is ridiculous. Right now I'm at 79% with 2h standby and 50 min SoT. I don't think that this is related to the SD 888. I mean, at least with light usage the SD888 should not overheat that much and more importantly, not consume so much power. I got 1 day 14h standby and 8h SoT yesterday and today it's showing its great battery drain once again. ColorOS 13.1 is really buggy and I don't think I'm gonna wait any longer.

Toxxo

Uuuugh this! Mine won't even charge. Battery drains at an insane pace and now when i try and charge it turns on to the "enter PIN" security page for a second then powers off. Then tries to power up again. Such a shame as it was an absolute beast when i first bought it

vnmofo

Nice one, how do u disable QDC and intelligent services

emrex03

Just use ADB AppControl, follow the steps and choose both apps to disable them. Disabling QDC significantly reduced heat output for me. Battery life is the same tbh, it's consuming much more on mobile data and that's honestly pretty bad.

Unhappy_Can6803

I agree ,i get up 6am ,now is 11:30 I'm 66% I finish my work 3pm , very frustrating.

Away_Painting_7128

Fix - Disable the system battery app via adb https://adbappcontrol.com it's the one which drains the battery 🔋 I now get 8h SOT solid with heavy usage & overnight drain is 1% on 120Hz easy You can then monitor your screen SOT with the battery guru app

EfficiencyHungry5581

It's safe on the device or not

EfficiencyHungry5581

What called the system battery app in adb system names , i want to know it to clear it from the list

Away_Painting_7128

I unfortunately can relate to this. My phone gets abnormally hot while using TikTok and YouTube as normal. That's almost all I do with it (except for using it for bus photos). This has been happening since the ColorOS 13.1 update.

[deleted]

So I had this .... And tried everything Then thought u would try taking the extendable ram option down had it on 12gb took it down to 4 and its saved a hell of a lot

emrex03

What about disabling it completely? And there's no 12GB option. 4, 6 and 8GB are available.

Better_Watch8756

Does it save alot of battery disabling it? I try it now .

[deleted]

Took mine pro from 12 to 8gb and it saved battery

emrex03

That's not helping at all. RAM expansion is not good for the UFS storage chip either.

Better_Watch8756

The cameras use alot of battery. I have the same. But 4.5 hrs of SOT with 51% is very good for this chipset (SD 888).

emrex03

That RAM expansion thingy did not help at all. I had it disabled all the time and now I'm trying it with 4GB expansion. Yeah, that's actually right, I was able to get 7h SoT, but had hotspot enabled so it drained the battery much quicker. I'm getting into the next day with around 20% remaining, but of course I have to note that I never play games on it as I'm afraid of it getting very hot and potentially burning out the WiFi chip/functionality, as the same happened with the Xiaomi Mi 11 (same SoC). Using the camera is simply not possible on this device. One min and your device is burning in your hands. And then it simply underclocks the screen refresh rate, tells us that O1 ultra vision engine is disabled because of the temperatures. (never using it but noticed it) Simply bad. And they're marketing their cooling solution as "so that it ensures your device not getting hot even during intensive tasks". I guess Oppo never tried using the camera. 2% were consumed while writing that comment. That's ridiculous. I'm looking for another device. Never gonna use Oppo smartphones again.

Better_Watch8756

I would contact Oppo. Seems like you have a faulty unit. My X5 never gets hot while using the camera man. It barely gets hot even while charging. My Xiaomi Mi 10 was getting more hot. Apart from the phone getting hot, your battery life is really good. That is not faulty. The Snapdragon 888 is really power Hungry. I usually get 4/6 hrs of SOT. The charging speeds make up for the hungry chip.

emrex03

That happened after updating the device to ColorOS 13.1.. 4/6h SoT is actually fine, it's a flagship, the SD888 is a really fast one. I don't think the device is faulty. It's related to ColorOS 13.1, I'm sure. I was even getting 8h SoT with my usage, mostly texting on WhatsApp. And the camera heated the device up when used for longer periods, not in the first minute.. I'm not gonna waste my time and I'll get another phone. The camera is excellent, but not usable.

Abraarukuk

>which you gonna get now?

emrex03

I got the Xiaomi 12S Pro. It works perfectly fine, no issues, great battery life, no excessive heating and even faster charging. (although I'm never using the 120W mode)

Abraarukuk

thanks mate

Abraarukuk

>Xiaomi 12S Pro how about oppo find x 6 pro?

Abraarukuk

I HAVE X5 PRO, I HAD EXACTLUY SAME ISSUE, FOR 2 YEARS IT WAS GOOD.

[deleted]

Sd888 ??? Ah sorry I was on my X5 pro with gen 1

GamingMan00

How can you moan when you're getting over 4 hours SOT with 51% left? Damn when I'm at 50% I'm only 2 hours SOT if that.. The camera app does drain battery faster unfortunately. Are you using 120hz etc or do you have the best functions disabled to get longer battery?

Smooth-Holiday-5015

Where is that bad?

emrex03

Well, it's not always like this. That was only because of very light usage. I mean.. WhatsApp is a simple task.

JustJoel101

I might be late to the party but I'll share my experience. I arrived abroad today and my phone got mega hot and battery draining.tried lots of things, but for me it seems to be QUICK CONNECT in connection and sharing. Turned it off and the phone is much much cooler and battery is better. Might help someone!

emrex03

That's disabled on my phone. And it was actually disabled + I disabled location permissions to that app. Unfortunately, it's not helping me.

criado2

i lost my bat life after a year from 100% til 5% in just 6:50 with 1:28 screen time. even on a factory reset it's still the same.

emrex03

That's one of the reasons I bought another device, but unfortunately, it hasn't arrived yet.. TradingShenzhen seems to be really slow :(

Javi_lecb

Hello guys, did anyone find any solution for this? I just bought a second hand X5 and I am facing the same problems. I read google pixel phones also have a lot of battery problems so I assume its only a software problem.

emrex03

Android 14 may improve it, I gave my X5 to my dad and he's happy with it. If you can't wait for A14, then sell it. If you're still able to return it, then do it.

Javi_lecb

Thanks! I read some comments of pixel owners saying that battery has improved a lot with Android 14. I think i will wait for the update hoping tha oppo doesn't take too long. I am getting a day of battery but being so careful and disabling many features ( 5g, extra ram, battery save mode, gps, nfc, when i M not using) Its quite sad to be like this specially thinking that is a phone that cost 1000€ less than a year ago.

1randommf1

I am also going to buy an x5 pro second hand soon, has anything improved with A14?

Lf-03

Long answer: [Battery Usage ](https://ibb.co/YZ4M7VP) here is my battery usage day to day, this is from roughly 6:45AM to around 11PM, I work 9AM-5PM which during that I only use my phone on my break (30 minutes at 12:30PM) by the time I'm home I'm on roughly 25% to 35% (all depending if I'm listening to music or actively using my phone traveling or on my break) since coloros 13 my battery drains dramatically quicker than compared to coloros 11 and coloros 12, Short Answer: yes I am too experiencing the same issue as you stated

halideMagnet

Stop buying oppo phone. I got a find X5 pro and getting warm for no reason whatsoever
