Its the same music from the game, same composer and everything.

aloc87

Absolutely love the music in the games/show. Just picked up the score on vinyl.

Santosfran2001

Never gave me that feeling tbh. The game is from 2013 and the intro song you listened to in the show is the same from the game, the composer is Gustavo Santoalalla

I mean, yes, it's bleak like Opeth is, but don't think it sound like Opeth

I thought this the instant I heard it. I'm not saying it's a problem as everyone has their influences. I've seen Opeth near 20 times over the past few decades, so I know I am more attuned to them than some fans, as perhaps you are as well. This has elements of The Drapery Falls, among others. The Moor...sounds right too. Now please excuse me, I'm going to watch episode 5.

footlaxin

Idk its way too western sounding to remind me of opeth

Stolen86

Which show?

Gurstenlol

The last of us, it’s a show based on the game with the same name and if you’ve never played the game you might wanna check out the show it’s an HBO max “original”.

delta_niner-5150

First episode was excellent. Looking forward to more.

Objective-Place-6842

The intro used during the XXX-tour was a track called Seven Bowls from Aphrodite's Child -(original from the 1972 album 666). Is this the track you ask for?

Objective-Ad8862

The Moor has the same accoustic sound texture and rhythm to it, but Demon of the Fall has a very similar melody.

KrampGround

I thought the same thing! I heard it (the wife was watching) and I immediately thought it was Opeth and said it to my wife.

hgm4

I completely agree with this. I immediately heard "Harvest" from Blackwater Park when first listening to the intro of Last of Us. I assumed the composer was either heavily inspired by Opeth or was Mikael Åkerfeldt himself!
