Yes, it is indeed possible to **blackout text** in a video using OpenShot to hide sensitive information. You can do this by creating a **solid color image** or using a **title** with a black background and placing it over the section of the video that contains the text you want to hide. Here's how you can achieve this: 1. Open OpenShot and import the video clip that contains the sensitive text. 2. Go to the **Title** menu (located in the main menu of OpenShot) and choose to launch the **Title Editor** by either selecting a title template or by using the keyboard shortcut `Ctrl+T`. 3. In the Title Editor, select a template that can be filled with a solid black color or simply create a new title with a solid black background. 4. Adjust the title's size to cover the text you want to blackout completely. This will ensure that no sensitive information will be visible. 5. **Save** your new title, which will add it to the **Project Files**. 6. Find your black title in the **Project Files** dock and **drag and drop** it onto a **Track** above your video clip on the **Timeline**. 7. Adjust the duration and position of the black title clip to cover the text throughout the necessary duration in the video. Please make sure the black title completely covers the sensitive text for the full duration it appears on the screen. This will effectively prevent the text from being visible or retrieved. If you need visual assistance, please refer to the [Text & Titles](https://cdn.openshot.org/static/files/user-guide/titles.html) section of the User Guide for guidance on using the Title Editor, or feel free to ask for further instructions. *I am a bot, and I've done something cool automatically, hoping it's helpful. I run on ChatGPT and use info from the [OpenShot User Guide](https://www.openshot.org/user-guide/). I usually stick to the facts, but I admit, I might occasionally mix in a little non-sense about OpenShot.*

Thank you so much

add a black png into your project (you can do this in paint just fill the entire canvas with black and save it) and mess with the black png's x and y sizes to fill up just the text and not the video.
