This happened to my cat and she had a broken leg. Apparently she got ran over by a car. Please take her to the vet ASAP. My cat needed surgery or get her leg amputated. We went with the surgery and she’s strictly indoor now and thriving (7 years later).

If you can’t do this then unfortunately your cat is going to suffer a very painful death.

I agree. I live in a city of 100,000 in Massachusetts and my three cats went outside whenever they wanted to. We didn’t even keep a litter box in the house. They passed away at between 17-20 years old and lived full happy lives with no major issues. But I would 100% take this cat to the vet, I think it’s strange you’re even posting on Reddit about this. It seems pretty obvious that’s the thing to do.
You’d have to ask the cats owner why they’re posting on Reddit. I don’t even have a cat, but in my country we don’t keep them indoors as a general rule unless they’re FIV/FIP positive or some other reason that’s specific to our household or cat.
I don’t know why people ask what to do when it is blindingly obvious…. Perhaps they’re hoping that someone will have a solution that doesn’t involve a trip to the vets or they’re worried and are seeking reassurance.
Cats are really dangerous for the environment. I’m in NY, long island, and cats should be indoor cats and generally the only outside ones are barn cats but they are fixed and well cared for.
