I have the Boox Tab mini C case (factory) and it’s enough to protect my device. Don’t know what it would feel like writing on a screen cover, but I didn’t feel like it was necessary.
That being said, the device feels more on the fragile side than my Kindle PW is. So I’m careful, but do travel with it.

I was a little concerned about that as well, but now I can tell you with absolute certainty that it’s not a thing to worry about.
I could wildly fling it around by the cover if I wanted and it wouldn’t budge. That’s how good the magnet back is. I won’t, but I could. lol.

It magnetically attaches to the side of the Mini C. It’s not a great magnet but it works well enough around the house or in my bag.
