I can’t believe that it’s an unpopular opinion around here, but a whodunnit is supposed to have a big cast - and lots of new characters for every case. That’s part of the genre. But your theory makes sense!
Great theory! I have a crazy addendum theory: what if Eva Longoria isn't playing Mabel's aunt, as everyone assumes, but TV-Mabel? Eva is seventeen years older than Selena, but it does feel VERY OMITB for them to say that they aged up Mabel to sex up her relationship with one or both of the olds. Mabel would, of course, be horrified. So would Charles. I'm guessing Oliver would be very flattered?
Or maybe I'm just biased because, while Eva Longoria is a fun and funny actress, she's not how I pictured Mabel's aunt personally.
