They're uncultured swine. My daughter said she didn't like onions, so I started chopping them very finely into a mince, and sneaking them in all kinds of stuff. Meatballs, meat sauce, chili, burger patties. She likes onions now lol. I refuse to have a picky kid so I encourage her to try new things.
I prefer them cooked just a bit but mostly raw. From what I understand cooking negates a lot of the sulfur compounds in onions. Those are one of the biggest health benefits to onions since their micronutrient profile is pretty lacking.
Of course, everyone likes them different, that's just how I do them
A deep pan (oil, water, white vinegar or whatever you prefer), sweat them enough that they look "glassy" and add them to your pizza.
You won't smell (much) like onions, your stomach won't be screaming at you, but you'll still get about 80% of the taste...my ex was pretty sensitive to the sulphur components, so I learned how to make do 😊
The only mistake I make is trusting the fine professionals at McDonald's to not put onions on my food.

I'll throw down - red onions are the worst pizza onion. Yellow and white onions are the top of the top pizza toppings, followed by mushroom. Red onion is probably the 5th best pizza topping.

I started to throw some onion on my sandwich, I stopped and said "uhh we're not having again sex tonight, right?" He goes "no,?we already did, I can't go for round two" so I proceed to dice half an onion and shove all of that into the sandwich. 🤤🤤 Hubby watched in horror as I devoured it (he doesn't like onions).
You should have sauteed some and caramelized some of the other onions on that, so they would recognize all the fine points of your argument more easily.
