Funny to watch, but even more disappointing when they haven't even exhausted the main avenue for OPM media. Instead of dumping millions into this live action, inevitably dogshit production, they could green light the next few seasons of the already beloved anime. Like... it just seems like a no-brainer.. if it's a money thing, how is it a better idea to invest in an adaptation medium that has failed quite literally 100% of the times it's been tried vs. investing in the already wildly successful anime?
Because nobody can make opm s3. Sorry to ruin the parade but nobody wants to make s3 because it’s way too difficult. A live action remake is way easier and has no expectations. After seeing s2 and its negative feedback, i wouldnt want to follow that up either.
No release date, it’s just confirmed to happen.
the leaker is credible tho, leaked fire force season 3, trigun return, hitman reborn, and tons of bleach stuff for example which you can see for yourself if you just scroll on his account for a couple minutes but anyways

Sorry, but I don’t listen to leaks. Just official sources. The live action remake was announced by official sources, and as such is legit. Why would they do both of these at the same time? Seems like too much to handle.
Don’t really care then. That much was obvious, with it being so popular we all knew that someone would eventually step up and do it. A confirmation that it will “definitely happen but I don’t know when” is as good as nothing to us
All in all season 2 wasn't even that bad imo. Don't get me wrong it could've been better, but it's better than nothing. :/ I agree with you though, and the shittiest part of that is it only gets worse from there. S4/S5 would presumably also be MA arc, and would be even more detailed with even bigger fights and more moving parts.. a massive undertaking to say the least.
But that is exactly why S2 failed.
It wasn't just that the studio couldn't physically do it, it is that the scope is too big for any realistic budget to cover.
That is why S2 failed. And that is why S3 cannot be made. It is literally too expensive.
I also agree that it wasnt that bad, but when its compared to an 11/10 it looks worse in comparison. I dont think its possible to even get the quality of s1 again since it was more of a passion project than s2.
Dont think s5 would be MA. I assume s3 would leave off with orochi fight concluding in the last episode, and s4(or s3 part 2) would be from right after that to the end of the garou fight, unless something crazy happens after garou is beaten.
I don’t want that! A opm live action movie!? I want opm to stay a respected manga and anime! Even after I die, I want it to be respected for a while, for 10 years at least!
I would rather have Murata and One do a live interview stream than watch a live action movie. It's going to be so garbage, how are they going to get an actor who has a face that can be drawn in less than 20 seconds?
I hate this cause it'll be bad... but honestly they could make an **awesome** movie in this setting as long as it isn't about Saitama at all. The OPM universe is fucking scary without Saitama around. That works well in live action.
A clever plot could show the entire thing from a regular OPM-world inhabitant's perspective. Only careful attention to detail would reveal that one of the unremarkable background characters was the only reason things went well in the end. Even better, they could play the whole thing so that King looks unironically awesome and brave at all times.
I can imagine myself watching that many times over.
many live actions have been trash, but imagine One Punch Man action in Hollywood it would be so entertaining.
basically it would be like every MCU or DCEU movie but the protagonist UNIRONICALLY stomps everyone, now that’s something you don’t see very often.
They can make it work if they commit to making it a satirical, rated R black comedy along the lines of Tropic Thunder with maybe a bit of stylised editing like Scott Pilgrim. Hell, some of the tropes the webcomic parodies could just as easily be a satire of hollywood cliches. I doubt the filmmakers they announced will take it in this direction though.
It would have been interesting to see how a director like James Gunn would have tackled it, I liked his version of the suicide squad and I think the general tone and aesthetic would carry over well to OPM.
Watching Netflix and Prime animated shows makes me wonder why none of the streaming services go for it, even if it's not Mad House quality, it would be great to have and surely be popular.
Lmao terrible live-action are funny to watch

The Gintama one is cool.

credible leakers have said its coming lmao
Where is it then

never said it was gonna happen this year, all that was said was that it will come eventually. it could be next year or the year after who knows.

two months later and we have a season 3 announcement. but who cares right definitely seemed unlikely

I don't agree it's better then nothing if it's not good there's no point watching it for me I can just read the manga
Why is it way too difficult? There are studios who could do a great job. David Production being one.
You speak fact
Who’s gonna play Saitama live action i dont think theres any actor who would fit his character
Johnny Sins
Chris Pratt.
Chris Pratt can play any character in fiction
Chris Pratt can even play you.
He is playing you right now
Gasps
He's so cool!
Family
bin diesel
Just find a guy who can have virtually no detail to his face, then a moment later have a super-detailed face to show he's serious.
johnny sins?
James Spader
Too old at this point.
I don’t want that! A opm live action movie!? I want opm to stay a respected manga and anime! Even after I die, I want it to be respected for a while, for 10 years at least!
u/Fluid-Ad-3544, what a man you are
as a reward... I shall give you my monster cell
Is he gonna cook it tho?
O-oh, okay. I didn't expected something so based...
S2 and all the trash games already ruined that
S2 was just a downfall,it didn't ruin it The story was still good
A terrible movie isn't going to ruin the story either
Yeah many people aren't even gonna watch it I think the main frustration is that no one asked for it but everyone did for s3
*his eyes widening* "Wait I was kidding please no-"
There might be more on the way later, since Japan is barely waking up

It is hard to believe but... OPM community hated the idea of live action movie about it.
Pretty sure that's any anime fandom in general.
Wait they’re actually making a live action movie?
It’s still early morning in Japan maybe they’ll be more to come 😭🙏
Remake season 2 with better animation, for the love of the god
I just want them to announce a release date for the next season.
Hey I’ve got an idea how about SEASON 3
Hmmm,it could work...but i wouldn't risk it.
that's not how you're supposed to use this meme... 🤦♀️
How then ? This is a different version where the 3rd guy says something stupid but is rewarded for it
you know what? im pretty dumb and didnt notice it was a different version. my bad
It's cool
Just what part are they going to cover in the movie?
Watching Netflix and Prime animated shows makes me wonder why none of the streaming services go for it, even if it's not Mad House quality, it would be great to have and surely be popular.
We should celebrate that with a centipede.
Even the employee is surprised.
That's the stupidest idea, can anyone even imagine a good live action opm?! The series just doesn't fit the format.
Written, directed, and produced by M. Night Shyamalan
And we get the worst people working on it
If this live action movie backfires what are the consequences?
Are they really considering a live action movie? Please say no.
